hi everyone
is there anyone here that has experience setting up Tiki on multiple domains?
Single installation
no?
Ok, so here is what I have done until now: I have set up Tikiwiki on www.domain1.com and set multitiki to expect domain1.com and domain2.com, with different perspectives set up, de sub-databases etc.
Now, I *think* I have it all set up so that all I need is an apache rule to point domain2.com to domain1.com - however, now I am stuck. Should I be setting up the pointing via DNS? Like a CNAME rule? Or should it be a symlink from domain1.com to domain2.com? Can I organize myself with .htaccess files?

g0th: hi
I would like to have latex support in tikiwiki, what do you recommend? I run the 9.x branch, I saw there were 3 things around: ModFormula, PluginFormula, PluginEquation (where only the last seems to be present in standard tiki wiki)
can anyone enlighten me about the differences resp. what you recommend?

hi, i am trying to add an external rss feed and when i click save i get a "you are not logged in" error
not sure how to go about tracking this down. i am an admin but do not have shell access to that machine
jonnyb: hi rigel: are you admin on your tiki?
rigel: yes
strangely, when i go to another page i show as still being logged in
so it's just that this module is not recognizing i am logged in or something
oh, i am not the "admin" user on this tiki
but i have all admin rights
jonnyb: which version of tiki?
rigel: 7.0
jonnyb: might be an idea to try a newer version - 9.0 is out
rigel: as i mentioned, i do not have shell access
jonnyb: ftp?
rigel: this is a non-starter
jonnyb: sounds like a bug, almost certainly has been fixed since 7.0 (ver a year ago)
rigel: can you point me at the bug tracking system, i would like to make sure
i would have to submit a request to have the software upgraded
jonnyb: ok - try dev.tiki.org
7.0 is no longer maintained, sorry
rigel: but you still have records of it, yes?
jonnyb: yes, lots on the tiki.org sites

jonnyb: hi Jyhem - just on my way out
can you do it? i couldn't work out how
Jyhem: I mean, if anyone uses 8.x, we'd tell them to upgrade anyway
I don't know if I can. I can try, though :)
jonnyb: exactly - and the title thing here says 9.0
thanks

The link from https://sourceforge.net/projects/tikiwiki/ under the big download button is https://sourceforge.net/projects/tikiwiki/files/latest/download gets tiki-9.0.tar.bz2 that's good
On https://sourceforge.net/projects/tikiwiki/files/ it's "Looking for the latest version? Download tiki-9.0.tar.bz2 (20.9 MB)" also good
jonnyb: but the text on the green button says 8.4 :(
and downloads it
off now, cu 2moro
Jyhem: Which green button ? here https://sourceforge.net/projects/tikiwiki/ the green button says 9.0 and downloads tiki-9.0.tar.bz2
fabricius: jyhem: I do not get it - where I get 8.4 from your links?
eh jonnyb
uh left
Jyhem: Maybe Jonny accesses sourceforge from a stale mirror ?
fabricius: stale? what's that?
Jyhem: out of sync
fabricius: ah
maybe
Jyhem: well, sounds strange but I have no better suggestion :)
fabricius: funny in the german Tiki forum:
a guy asks for help ta achieve s.th. with let column, modules/menus
I explain him
he says oh thanks, that'll help me further ... sad that it does not work like I wanted, but fine
I say: ah no, it works exactly the way you want (provided he does the right settings)
RobertPlummer: Hey guys, I'm getting ready to rewrite parts of the new parser to be much faster. In particular, I'm going to eliminate nested plugins calls where I can within plugins calls. Anybody interested in delving into it with me?
fabricius: he answers: oh sad that you tell me it does not at all
arrrgl
Jyhem: well, maybe he just wanted to understand how he needs to think and then he can finish the job. You know, "give a man a fish… Teach how to fish…"
RobertPlummer: Jyhem, hint hint.
fabricius: I explained it now the long way ... hope he gets it now
Jyhem: RobertPlummer is that about trunk ?
RobertPlummer: fabricius: Thanks for your work with the download links on SF, sure that'll have big impact.
Jyhem, yup.
fabricius: Jyhem that was my first approach, but he didn't get it at all
RobertPlummer: Jyhem, I love how you can wrap your mind around it, I'd love to show you how it works, and work together in making it way faster. I want to use unput rather than nested parsing.
Jyhem: Sorry, still concentrating on making Tiki-9.0 suitable for my paying customers.
fabricius: RobertPlummer: sry, but I did not doi anything with the SF links at all - even didn't know about an isse
RobertPlummer: Jyhem, the problem I'm having right now is that a single plugin is parsed 3 times in short.
I want to bring it down to 1.
fabricius: RobertPlummer but I did install trunk locally via SVN yesterday
RobertPlummer: Is it ok if I bounce some ideas of you guys then?
Jyhem: Is that also the case in Tiki 9 ? That's shocking
RobertPlummer: interested in a parsing issue on Tiki 9 ? I was shown one recently
Have a {JQ} plugin on top of a wiki page. Search for the page. See the search hits list page with the preview of the pages … the jquery code is displayed :-(
The {JQ()} is stripped, but the plugin content (aka code) is displayed :-(
Do we have any mechanism against that ?
Apart from "put the JQ plugin at the page bottom, silly" :)
RobertPlummer: lol, right. I've talked with Marc about this.
We need to have searched items parsed before displayed, and things like JQ need to be stripped.
Jyhem: Yup. Are you telling me this is not currently possible in Tiki 9?
fabricius: RobertPlummer and Jyhem --- hey, I start to understand, what you coders are talking about yuheeee
Jyhem: We probably need some flag on plugins to recognise those which are displayed and those which are not
RobertPlummer: Jyhem, it is possible. Should be done in universal search.
Jyhem, yupe.
yup.
-: fabricius is gong to make food
RobertPlummer: I think though they should be displayed by default.
But rendered.
Jyhem: Ahhh. That was not on universal search. That was on mysql search. But I thought the parsed previews don't depend on the search type?
rendering {JQ()} would create executable javascript in the search results page. bad bad bad, as these javascripts are tailored towards specific pages
-: Jyhem is hungry now and it's all fabricius|gtmf's fault :)
Jyhem: it's 9 pm. I need to eat something as well
-: Jyhem needs to eat, and reply to some people. Jyhem does not feel very bouncy at 9pm on an empty stomach, sorry
RobertPlummer: Jyhem, do this. $clonedHeaderlib = clone($headerlib);$data = $parserlib->parse_data($dataFromSearch);$headerlib = $clonedHeaderlib;
