Hi, anyone there?
No? Damn
Ok, here's the question: I'm running latest version of TikiWiki and want to stop google and others from indexing it. But it must be searchable by members. (It's for medical people). Can this be done? If yes, what's the best way to do it?

anyone around with multi-domain experience?
anyone have any idea what Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_OBJECT_OPERATOR in /tiki-setup.php on line 240 means?

fabricius: hi dennmans
dennmans: hi fabricius
I understand the problem now
it is that I have a really old version of php running on the domain that should be redirecting to my main tiki domain
fabricius: Hi dennmans, I do not really understand, why one domain should be redirecting to the other domain at all but maybe there is just a different wording used
dennmans: haha, what I am trying to do is set up two domains with one tiki installation
fabricius: you have a directory, where your Tiki Php files are unpacked ... aka installed
and you have a databease
dennmans: I have different categories and perspectives set up deal with it, the main domain is working
but the other domain runs into problems
fabricius: in the Tiki (root) directory there is a folder /db with a file /db/local.php, where the database login credential are saved, to be provided for Tiki
then you have domains setup somwhere in a control panel of your ISP
these damain(s) have to be pointed to the directory where your Tiki files are - the Tiki root directory, mentioned above

Tiki|bot: Welcome to the official Tiki Wiki CMS Groupware channel. Please ask your question directly. Don't ask to ask. Someone will reply if and when they know the answer. Welcome again and please stay a while. Thank you!
WendyOz: I have latest version of TikiWiki. I want members to be able to search but not for google or others to index it. (It's for a medical group who have private discussions). Is this possible to arrange? if so, how?
ricks99: yes. grant the search permission to the registered grou ponly
you'll need to remove the view permission from the anonymous group, in order to "hide" the content from public view
there's also a way (iirc) to specify in your htaccess to deny access to the googlebot

Jyhem: on one website I have the pop-up which warns me that I will lose data if I quit a page which has a textarea open and modified (like a wiki page being edited).
On two others, it does not happen :-(
What is different?
Found it: Ajax feature was at the same time active and not active. weird
fabricius: Houston I have a problem
just kidding
only a question regarding CSS
anybody there?
Jyhem are you into CSS?
I want an element with a fixed position, which stay always on top of all others
-: Jyhem wonders why tikibot does not remind fabricius of "Question? Just ask. "
fabricius: I have a question
Tiki|bot: Welcome to the official Tiki Wiki CMS Groupware channel. Please ask your question directly. Don't ask to ask. Someone will reply if and when they know the answer. Welcome again and please stay a while. Thank you!
Jyhem: z-index
fabricius: thats why Jyhem
z-indexes?
hmmm
Jyhem: that sayw which is "above"
fabricius: cool - have read that before
ah
Jyhem: like altitude
fabricius: and I have to write for "above all else"?
is z-index numbered? counted?
Jyhem: it's numbers, so it's like a race :-(
fabricius: ah
Jyhem: try z-index: 999 but if that works, try something smaller
fabricius: so find all z-indexes and number all one higher, to get the number 1 free?
ah understand
higher is higher
Jyhem: or the next person needs to do z-index: 9999
fabricius: ;-)
ah
May I kiss you my friend? Or would you prefer a hug?
Jyhem: a beer will do :)
fabricius: normally luciash get's the hug :-)
luciash: btw: how many beers I ow you?
So now I can realise my "verytopline" without anything else, but just a z-index
Jyhem: or in Barcelona, a sangria :)
fabricius: I fear, that I cannot make it to Barca moneywise
Jyhem: wel you also need to place it at the same place as the other elements, I thnk. Experiment
too bad :-(

fabricius: Jyhem, it works
Jyhem, another thing I have to solve is the following;
frequently I see top-bar menus with a second level popping up in a different stylish way
like fields that pop up and there is a menu and an image or a slideshow
hover-pop-up box alike
vmachine: joined #tikiwiki
fabricius: horizontal submenus would be nice aswell ... But I guess, I could figure that out
and last one => first level links of the top-bar should keep a CSS-property (for ex a certain color) depending on the category of the content
anybody has a link for that?
benoitg: joined #tikiwiki
-: fabricius heads off to themes.t.o and thx again to Jyhem for the z-index

dennmans: are there any 'map plugin' guru's about?
in Tiki 8 there were navigation buttons in the map, in Tiki 9 they seem to have gone.
fabricius: I am not, but interested aswell -> you might be interested in Cartograf -> http://demo.tiki.org/cartograf/Map
dennmans: Or maybe I have forgottet so set something
thanks fabricius, I saw that
it is really cool and totally overkill for what I need ;-)
Tiki|bot: New Forum Posts: Buttons in the Map plugin - http://tiki.org/tiki-view_forum_thread.php?forumId=4&comments_parentId=44381
dennmans: oh, hehe, that's me
jonnyb: dennmans: someone did do some "fixes" on maps recently that were connected with that - are you on 9.0 or 9.x svn?
dennmans: 9.0
jonnyb: 9.1 might be better then when it arrives
maybe you could try one of the daily builds (on a test site)?
dennmans: thanks for the info, I will have a look
I couldn't find it in the bug tracker
fabricius: dennmans: maybe the issue is related with the change from google maps to openstreetmap (good decition, but maybe not yet same use than before)
dennmans: maybe, but I was using open streetmap to begin with
fabricius: ah fine
btw. I never got usermaps working since the changes ... anyone knows?
dennmans: in tiki9?
or 8?
I generated a usermap yesterday in 8
fabricius: both ... but usermaps did not have been my focus for a while
how did you make?
dennmans: errrrm ;-)
fabricius: isn there s.th. to do with maplayers or assigning maps?
dennmans: I think I made a list of users and a map in a single wiki page
fabricius: some more things than just activating the feature
ah ... not the feature usermap?
how did you get the users onto the map?
dennmans: no, that needed users to set their location with lat lon
fabricius: yes indeed that is what feature usermap does
dennmans: I used a {list} and filtered userPages
fabricius: ... and ... ?
dennmans: that way, users could set the location in the preferences on the map (which is now broken)
fabricius: oh
dennmans: And I set a wiki page which listed the locations that were on the user pages
jonnyb: the user prefs map on my 9.x svn seems to work fine - has buttons and save location (and zoom)
dennmans: oh, ok, thanks jonnyb
I will try and see the diff in maps with 9.0

question about versioning - is tiki 9.x newer than the stable release?
jonnyb: yes, 9.x is what will become 9.1 soon
dennmans: jonnyb are you running a daily build? or did you only use some files from the svn?
fabricius: dennmans: I am step by step going to use svn ckeckout and svn up ... fastest and easiest way to deal with upgrade and keeping up to date - in my opinion
changi: fabricius: +1
fabricius: dennmans: jonnyb has punished me to go for running my sites with svn ;-)
dennmans: hehe
probably not the best solution for a production site...
fabricius: I feel it very good, because fixes are quickest here ... and devs appreciate the "risk" of the user who dares to produce with dotX
dennmans: wahey, that seems to have worked. I just replaced the .js file, so not completely fixed
fabricius: but for a customer you might be right depending on his usecase
dennmans: well, this is a free one for the May15/Occupy/Arab Spring movements, so I guess they can settle for 'giving back'
jonnyb: sorry guys, phone - yes, i use svn throughout when i can, ftp etc has issues too imho
bbl
dennmans: thanks for all the help guys. Working with tiki is fun and brain-damaging at the same time
bit like drinking too much I guess :-)
