[01:46] TomJarvis successfuly using IE8. The Filegallery saves the mime type on upload, and IE8 does not appear to supply the correct mime type.
[01:46] TomJarvis So, I still think it is an IE8 problem.

[10:06] jjg0th did anyone try netdrive on e.g. demo.tiki.org?

[10:48] jjg0th did anyone get "open as webfolder" working for tiki wiki? e.g. on demo.tiki.org/...?
[10:49] jjg0th I just see "empty content"
[11:09] jjg0th who implemented webdav for tiki wiki?
[11:17] xavi jjg0th: I tried webdav://demo.tiki.org/9x/tiki-webdav.php/ and it works
[11:19] xavi I was able to open the "File Galleries > main > tesdt.docx" in OOo 3.x through Dolphin file manager (KDE), and I could edit it and save changes directly to the webdav folder in demo.t.o/tiki9
[11:19] xavi plus edit a local file, and drag and drop on the webdav folder on tiki
[11:19] xavi etc
[11:21] xavi and my new file can be seen in demo.t.o/9x: tesdt.odt http://demo.tiki.org/9x/dl3
[11:22] xavi mmmm, oh wait, editing from local OOo 3.2 apparently worked, but the changes I saved didn't go to the webdav folder it seems
[11:22] rodrigoprimo joined #tikiwiki
[11:23] xavi anyway, jjg0th: your problem must be elsewhere if you just see "empty content"
[11:23] * xavi back to work
[11:23] jjg0th hmm
[11:24] jjg0th xavi: what software did you use?
[11:24] jjg0th I am using windows 7 and ff 13
[11:24] jjg0th did you install additional update/plugins/etc?
[11:25] jjg0th I changed the registry according to some documentation will reboot now, brb

[11:28] jjg0th re
[11:36] jjg0th xavi: anyway, thx for the answer
[11:38] xavi jjg0th: I'm using GNU/Linux as OS, KDE as window manager, and Dolphin as file explorer. See https://doc.tiki.org/WebDAV for more info on this, if needed
[11:38] jjg0th I've read this document like 50 times
[11:38] jjg0th and several others as well
[11:38] xavi ok, improve them if you can , please, then
[11:38] jjg0th roughly spent about 100 hours on this issue so far
[11:39] jjg0th so far only two softwares work for me on windows 7
[11:39] jjg0th cyberduck and webdrive
[11:39] jjg0th but with cyberduck I have mime type issues
[11:39] xavi jjg0th: there might be some bugs in the clients you use, and/or the server side part. Consider spending some money in some coder fixing whatever is affecting your use case
[11:39] jjg0th ok
[11:39] jjg0th who?
[11:39] xavi http://info.tiki.org/Consultants <- try this?
[11:40] jjg0th ok
[11:40] jjg0th but while trying this I will still try to solve this
[11:40] jjg0th the mime types work fine for demo.tiki.org
[11:40] jjg0th but not on my wiki server
[11:40] xavi or request help in the devel list of a consultant , to discuss offlist your needs, details, etc. Webdav seems to be too tricky, and specialized devs might be needed to help you
[11:41] jjg0th any ideas how mime types are set? and why demo.tiki.org (which uses the same confuguration I think) works and another server doesn't
[11:41] xavi good luck (beyond my dev skills: mime type and webdav)
[11:41] jjg0th if I get the same behaviour as demo.tiki.org that's already good enough
[11:42] jjg0th I think a main issue is that tiki uses a script instead of a simple web address
[11:42] jjg0th this confuses many client softwares
[11:42] jjg0th but anway, I just try to work with what is at hand so don't mind about that remark
[11:43] jjg0th the issue is about .docx files which on my server are stored as application/zip files but on demo.tiki.org they are stores as application/ms-word files, who "decides application/ms-word"?
[11:46] jjg0th if I access a file directly on my server (e.g. http://my_wiki_server/myfile.docx) it has the correct mime-type, it's just wrong for files uploaded with cyberduck/webdav, however for demo.tiki.org it seems to be ok again (?)
[11:47] jjg0th direct file gallery upload is fine as well

[20:28] goth hi
[20:28] goth I have a solution for my mime type problem
[20:29] goth but I didn't figure out why it doesn't work for me but works for demo.tiki.org
[20:29] goth anyone around?
[20:29] goth the solution was to modify a certain .php file
[20:29] goth but someone who understands better what it does should do it
[20:30] changi goth: which file ?
[20:31] goth essentially I extended the "fix mime-type based on extension" from only "application/octet-stream" to everything
[20:31] goth sec
[20:31] goth http://pastebin.com/qBmP7qi2
[20:32] goth if it were to be applied the list should most probably be extended, resp. moved to another external file or something, to be honest I don't quite get the "mime" mechanism in tiki wiki
[20:33] goth I installed a completely fresh tiki with exactly the same settings as the one on demo.tiki.org, I run an apache2 and it still is not working for me
[20:33] * goth is really curious what settings they use on demo.tiki.org
[20:33] goth in any case the above change fixes my issue for .docx files
[20:37] goth hmm, it could use the mimetypes.php and just do:  $filetype=$mimetypes[$suffix];
[20:38] goth wouldn't that be much more elegant? That switch statement makes not much sense to me
[20:38] goth hmm but ofc then the mimetypes.php has to be up-to-date (it is not atm), but there is a script there how to generate it, so that would be no problem
[20:45] goth testing my solution, will submit patch, resp. post here
[20:47] goth I think I finally start to understand the code a bit better
[20:55] goth changi: still here?
[20:56] goth changi: it's working perfectly for me and imo it makes sense, but the one who did the mime type extension fix for images or someone with more knowledge should have a look first..., will make a post on the tiki site
[21:14] goth submited the change
[21:14] goth (still to the old ticket)

[21:41] jjgoth amette: btw, I finally found a workaround for my mime issue => http://dev.tiki.org/item4268
[21:44] amette jjg0th: I don't know that part of the codebase too well... but as far as I see.... you are removing all the special handling and just write the determined mimetype to filetype....?!
[21:45] amette Wondering what all this special stuff was... that was just because of file suffixes?
[21:50] Tiki|bot joined #tikiwiki
[21:50] goth for images
[21:50] goth iirc
[21:51] goth originally that part did this: IF filetype is application/octet-stream => Check the specified list of file extension, if it matches fix the filetype accordingly
[21:52] goth now it does this: no matter what => fix the filetype according to the mimetypes.php
[21:52] goth in both cases it only happens if "fix mimtype according to extension" was activated
[21:53] goth hmm, I should have added a check to see if mimetype[$suffix] exist or not
[21:54] amette oooooooooooooohhhhhhh.....................................
[21:55] amette hang on a moment! you say that docx is a ZIP-file... so that is application/octet-stream... so docx should be in the list of mimetypes that need fixing....!!?!!
[21:55] amette now what I don't understand: why does it work on demo.t.o ?!
[22:00] CIA-75 tikiwiki: 03marclaporte * r42503 10/branches/9.x/lib/prefs/feature.php: typo
[22:07] changi amette: it's not at the CoE :)

[22:08] amette Click on the "European Union See more" and it talks about CoE
[22:09] changi amette: it's the european union council , not the council of europe
[22:10] amette aaaaaahhhhh....... why does that have to be so complicated??!? :P
[22:10] amette ok, thanks, mate :)
[22:11] CIA-75 tikiwiki: 03jonnybradley * r42504 10/branches/9.x/tiki-register.php: [FIX] registration: Prevent extraordinary endless redirect loop when feature_alternate_registration_page is set to it's default (be very careful updating production sites to 9.x at the moment!)
[22:11] changi because the main different between EU Council and the CoE, is that EU only operate in the 27 country of EU, Council Of europe operate on the european country
[22:11] changi 47 countries
[22:11] changi :)
[22:11] changi it's a big difference
[22:11] amette aaah.. ok, that was a good lesson to learn!! :)

[22:12] changi In fact, in france we only talk about European Union, not the EU Council

[22:23] amette nice - whom are they playing?
[22:23] amette who even
[23:06] goth the mime type fix was originally only made for images iirc, at least in the source php it restricts to type application/octet-... or so
[23:07] goth i just say this fixes everything for me and might be a very simple fix for many people
[23:07] amette I understand that... still I'm unclear about the implications of this fix.
[23:08] goth me too
[23:08] amette the original author had some reason to do it this way (not meaning that this is the right way)
[23:08] goth how do you check if an array has an entry in php?
[23:08] goth e.g. $mimetypes[$suffix]
[23:08] amette empty() ?
[23:09] goth amette: it might just be that he simply wanted to fix some issues with images and didn't realize that it could help a lot more
