hiiiii how is sqlite support?
xavi: hi mightyiam: it was dropped many years ago (by lack of developers using it and supporting it)
mightyiam: crap :)
xavi: is there another flat file thingy?
xavi: not with tiki
mightyiam: thanks xavi
xavi: you are welcome. why not mysql (or equivalent)?
and isn't dokuwiki (flat file php-based wiki) enough for you?
mightyiam: ^
mightyiam: xavi: for paranoid security,
xavi: ah :-)
mightyiam: i'm working on installing the wiki in a userdir with apache module userdir
when this userdir is an encrypted home
well, it is IN an encrypted home
xavi: and why not just dokuwiki? what are you missing there?
mightyiam: good question. i've not been introduced to docuwiki yet
i'm looking for nice features like templates and kind of programming inside the wiki
for some automation
xavi: see this: http://tiki.org/Tiki+vs+DokuWiki
mightyiam: aight. thanks, xavi. that helped
xavi: you are welcome again

Trebly: Hi, a long time without working on tiki.
I upgrade my dirs and repo. I don't remember from which Url to get the 9.0 as SVN working copy - (I got 9.x). Thanks
Reason : I bring my enhancement first to current release (9.0), and secondarily to current trunk (9.x) to check with comparisons to validate

Hi! I have a question regarding tiki 9.0
Tiki|bot: Welcome to the official Tiki Wiki CMS Groupware channel. Please ask your question directly. Don't ask to ask. Someone will reply if and when they know the answer. Welcome again and please stay a while. Thank you!

wppro: I setup tiki 9.0 on an intranet server. How can tiki connect with the internet via our proxy?
There is a ticket #3875 that fits my problem.
lphuberdeau: wppro: Under Admin > General > General settings
make sure you enable advanced configurations (at the top)
Use proxy, fill in the information
wppro: I'd like to use the "Enterprise Intranet" profile but funny enough, I cannot enable it as tiki is in an intranet :)
lphuberdeau: experimental even, although that must be a mistake, has been around forever
wppro: OK I'll check this out ...
ricks99: wppro: did you configur your proxy info?
wppro: I think this is it ...
I got it !! Thank you very much!! I'm totally new to tiki wiki but everything looks really nice!!

tikiwiki: because beyond security, it will take new users forever/long to figure out that
tikiwiki: they need to enable the this option to get correct mime-types...
wu-lee: fabricius: so I assumed "forum" meant mailing list, because http://tiki.org/Mailing+lists says: "For historical reasons, we continue to use mailing lists"
I infer this is completely backward?
If anyone would like to confirm that, I can attempt to correct the wiki page.
ricks99: forum and mailing list are separate
not sure i understand your question
wu-lee: Ah, I see my mistake. Devel list on gmail link I found
links to a single thread.
http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.cms.tiki.devel/27345/focus=27347 which refers to the forums
ricks99: wu-lee: what are you looking for?
wu-lee: somewhere to ask questions and get answers :)
ricks99: there are several places:
1. the support forum
2. the mailing list
3. this irc channel
wu-lee: I am subscribed to the devel list already, just my subscription has been disabled for about 7 years
ricks99: pls see http://info.tiki.org/Help+Others for details
are you looking for something specific?
you can browse the archive of the mailing list. is that what you want?
wu-lee: yes (was looking for archives to be better informed about what's been answered)
mailman's archives are hopeless, usually
in short: ignore my question
ricks99: ok. there's a link to each mailing lists' archive on the main page.
wu-lee: however, now that I have your attention...
00:01 < wu-lee> ricks99: attempted to register on tiki for smarties to add the missing info about module page param, but there seems to be no accessible registration code image

I've discovered that I seem to have the same problem with my own tiki 9.0 install.
ricks99: on Tiki Essentials? Yes, I've seen that issue. just haven't addressed it yet
i need to fix my session partiions.
wu-lee: ok, is there a resolution?
ricks99: (and need to upgrade to tiki 9)
y. confirm that your session has access to the temp directory (if stored in file) and that it is being written correctly
-: ricks99 fixed it on Smarties, but not Essentials... yet
wu-lee: the file seems to be there. can't access it.
ricks99: session doesnt have perm
wu-lee: what kind of session are you speaking of here?
tiki-specific, or more general?
ricks99: the user/http session
wu-lee: where are perms controlled?
ricks99: on the server.
-: wu-lee tries to connect the dots...
ricks99: brb
wu-lee: I think I need more clues. If I put the URL from the antibot captcha image tag directly into my browser I get a 403. No session invoved as far as I can tell.
.htaccess for temp/ is "deny to all", for temp/public is "allow to all"
if I remove the former, I can view it.
ricks99: for the temp/public/.htaccess, use:
<FilesMatch ".png">.... allow all... </ >
(this way, only the PNGs can be visible
-: ricks99 should have fixed it a long time ago. thanks for the nudge wu-lee
wu-lee: note, these were installed by tiki, I've not monkeyed with them
ricks99: did you install manually? or via cpanel?
wu-lee: manually, via shell
ricks99: not sure then.
what's the .htaccess say in your ../temp/public folder?
wu-lee: ... just getting that - it says
<FilesMatch ".*">order deny,allow allow from all </FilesMatch>
ricks99: thats why it isnt working
wu-lee: in temp/.htaccess there is:
ricks99: o. wait.. you a have allow from all. should work
wu-lee: <FilesMatch ".*"> order deny,allow deny from all </FilesMatch>
ricks99: but the /temp/public/ has allow all. should override
wu-lee: it looks like the intent is to deny access to temp/*, but allow access to temp/public/*
however temp/.htaccess seems to be denying access to temp/public
ricks99: odd. working on on my site
try customizing the ../temp/public/.htaccess to set only for *png
wu-lee: would that do anything, considering that if I remove temp/.htaccess, access is permitted?
i.e. if I don't, then presumably narrowing the scope of temp/public/.htaccess won't help
ricks99: y. but now your site is insecure. you've allowed full access to all /temp folders
wu-lee: yep. I know that. I don't like it.
ricks99: need to run errands for abit. will b back soon
brb
wu-lee: ok
thanks, will look for a good forum/mailing list to post on
