I am not using open_basedir sudo sh setup.sh run fine, all is 755 & 644 and chownd and chgrpd to _www is there a rewrite rule at play somewhere here? tiki is setup under its own local vhost "tiki", so http://tiki gets to the install.php fine	[14:36]
xavi	check .htaccess in the tiki root folder you may try commenting out the rewrite base path, or something about opebasedir (include .) or something just have a look at that .htaccess in the tiki root folder	[14:44]

xavi	in case "socket" means anything to you, Cabeza (and your mac osx), in the old days up to tiki4 there seemed to be an optional param that some people with rare configs needed, something like: $socket_tiki='/my/database/socket'; // Used for mysql if server is configured for sockets. mlaporte	Your Tiki may have trouble writing sessions to the disk. Instead, try storing in the database. In your lib/prefs/session.php file (you can see an example [http://tikiwiki.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/tikiwiki/trunk/lib/prefs/session.php?view=markup\|here], find the session_storage preference and change the 'default' from 'default' to 'db'.
