no, it just says "save" fabricius: I actually try to install safari on ubuntu 12.04 and try jonnyb: chrome should be the same fabricius: yesteray Jyhem said it would work ... he wanted to present, moved s.th. and gosh it didn't save

I think tidying up the main doc structure would be a basic part of the website revamp
so I leave it for now and the next days

thx jonnyb: fabricius: just worked fine for me in firefox
moved a page and changed the alias, clicked save and then reloaded - changes were saved sandroandrade_: joined #tikiwiki Jyhem_laptop: jonnyb: Let me do it again and report step by step
http://doc.tiki.org/tiki-admin_structures.php → "Documentation TOC " (link in Structure ID column) → Now loking at http://doc.tiki.org/tiki-edit_structure.php?page_ref_id=2 → Scroll down to 4.21.2 (Index of Modules) → click-drag #10: Module adsense to between #2 and #3 (action_similar content and babelfish links) for alphabetic order. Same with Module articles. Now Module adsense should be #3 → Scroll down and click "Save"
right above "Add page"
Not only is " babelfish links" still #3, but during the process, I seem to have "lost" Module adsense. But that's unrelated, I guess jonnyb: hmm, odd - i was trying to change the changelog pages right at the bottom - maybe some parts work and some don't? Jyhem_laptop: changelog works: I moved 1.1 up to below 1.6
But now I can't correct it because the whole structure jumps when I approach the bottom (FF 15.0)
But the bottom section definitely does not have the issue
Also, I misplaced Module adsense out of 4.21.2 (Index of Modules). Then I dragged it back to position 3 of 4.21.2 (Index of Modules) but it went back to its old #10 position.
But it moved to the correct 4.21.2 (Index of Modules)

JYHEM!!! are you there Jyhem? jonnyb: ah, probably not collation but charset then -: jonnyb shudders fabricius: yes more charset
I guess we have to "repair" the tables
is there any option to change those broken characters?
or a script?
would not be so nice to do via a handmade regex
but I think mostlikely possible jonnyb: there's a button in the installer that will attempt a fix
but if you have a mixture (old ones bad, new ones ok) then you're stuffed i'm afraid rinnan: joined #tikiwiki jonnyb: you could use the installer to fix the pre-upgrade version of the database and then try and "meld" the two together lindonb: joined #tikiwiki jonnyb: how much data? (old and new)
hey lindonb - how goes? lindonb: jonnyb: it goes good, thanks. Back from Norway? jonnyb: yes - home for a while - Berlin next (month)
more crazy art stuff lindonb: crazy but cool rinnan: Hmm.. I seem to be unable to upload binary files (tried an excel worksheet and a zip file. Text files and jpgs seem ok) to my file galleries. Are there any settings I ought to be looking at? lindonb: jonnyb: will you have the fish and table installations there? rinnan: any ointers would be appreciated (tiki 9.1, using file galleries to store attachments) jonnyb: rinnan: jpegs are binary so it must be something else fabricius: jonnyb: about at least a few hundreds of wikipages ... a few French strings here and there (for ex. Montréal, Québec), but also names in the contributions and the sign ">" in a few wikiplugins ... maybe data in trackes aswell
trackers jonnyb: lindonb: no, it's an old piece - "Call of the Wild" rinnan: jonnyb: thats what I was thinking as well. Will investigate further jonnyb: rinnan: usually it's a size thing - max_upload setting in php.ini fabricius: rinnan and jonnyb - there was a discussion recently about a problem to mime types - especially docx and such
yes and size! jonnyb: fabricius: probably easiest to fix manually - probably with a good text editor on an sql dump fabricius: could be aswell, should look first jonnyb: mime-type shouldn't make an upload fail, just have the wrong icon once it gets there redflo: joined #tikiwiki fabricius: jonnyb: sure that we need to do manually? I am afraid thought.
The REPLACE function seems not to be appropriate I think ... too specific to the string where to replace rinnan: my uploads dont fail with an error message (as they do when the file is too large), it just hangs jonnyb: fabricius: doing a global thing will probably make more issues than you have already
rinnan: what tiki version? rinnan: 9.1 jonnyb: anything in the javascript console? rinnan: on a fedora-box jonnyb: tried different browsers? rinnan: firefox and explorer CIA-99: tikiwiki: 03changi67 * r43081 10/trunk/ (45 files in 22 dirs): checkstyle - see http://quality.tiki.org rinnan: I get a "File added: " message in the tiki log
even if the file doesnt get uploaded jonnyb: let me try an xls one here, 1 mo... changi: see ya all jonnyb: rinnan: just worked fine here, so must be a server setup thing i guess
any firewall/anti-virus stuff on your server? rinnan: jonnyb:could be. I doublechecked using a file that uploads ok on a different install. Works ok on the other site, doesnt upload here
so its obviously something wrong in my site, not a tiki issue as such jonnyb: anything in the server logs (apache error.log etc)? rinnan: jonnyb: I'm using a cherokee webserver, but there's no errors in its logs jonnyb: maybe a clue in phpinfo? (search for zip and xls perhaps)
they're both possible carriers of viruses, so maybe there's some protection there rinnan: jonnyb: I'm starting to suspect something like that. Looking in the logs..
phpinfo contains nothing about xls though
I'll try something different now jonnyb: same here - maybe an apache setting fabricius: jonnyb Jyhem Jyhem_laptop - their admin fixed the charset special characters, but their are stil plenty of HTML characters in the text, like "(make sure you click on "post" to save your comment)" ... mind the "
and in wikiplugins > is > jonnyb: maybe the 9.x entity upgrade script/s failed fabricius: known issue? same problem or a different problem?
she made a new one and did it different - so the French chars and the Umlaute etc. are fixed
the original Tiki 6 DB was indeed latin1_swedish jonnyb: yes, was a big issue on 9.0 - RobertPlummer wrote some fairly complex scripts that should convert them, maybe somehow they failed to run (properly) fabricius: they want to present things and continue work - can this be repaired afterwords?
they just realised the charset problems one minute before deadline
RobertPlummer: are you there? jonnyb: the entity stuff (like " everywhere) is a different issue, but maybe related rinnan: jonnyb: keep getting an "Internal Error in Server" message when trying uploads jonnyb: rinnan: but nothing in the error.log? usually 500 errors get logged somewhere rinnan: jonnyb: I only found it in the java-console in the browser. The server-logs seem to report everything is ok
jonnyb: actually the 500 message is found in the web server access log jonnyb: aha, and..? rinnan: doesnt really explain anything though
"<ip> - - [21/Sep/2012:22:29:02 +0200] "POST /tiki/tiki-index.php?page=HomePage HTTP/1.1" 500 328 "http://<site>/tiki/tiki-index.php" "Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) KHTML/4.8.5 (like Gecko) Konqueror/4.8 Fedora/4.8.5-1.fc17"" jonnyb: and nothing in the error log? (if it's enabled) rinnan: theres nothing in the error-log for the last week or so
I'll look into adding more detailed logging
jonnyb: thanks for helping out. I've gotten closer to the core of things I think. Will resume debugging later Jyhem: hi jonnyb: no probs - i'm about dome for today too
good luck! rinnan: thanks, and goodnite Jyhem: fabricius: the > "post" is how stuff was stored in latin1_swedish
*maybe* the script in the installer (bottom of some page, plenty of warning, that script) couls help.
backup first -: Jyhem looks up archives jonnyb: Jyhem: i think entities (like ") are stored the same in all char encodings, so i think it's not that but what happens in upgrade_999999991_decode_pages_sources_tiki
but it's way too much for my brain now - need to rest
more later (day off tomorrow, it's my birthday! :) ) Jyhem: but if the pages display entities, then mybe we have double encoding of entities still.
fabricius: do they see the entities on screen in Tiki or into the database ? fabricius: Jyhem: I see the entities on screen and on screen in editmode ... I have not (notyet?) access to the database
They should be visible in the database aswell - I guess
what's if not? Jyhem: Then they might be double encoded. Have you ran the double-encoding fixing script ?
when upgrading?
you answered about the screen/database part. I was just checking my understanding of the situation fabricius: ah ok
I have no access and the upgrade is beeing done by their admin, not by myself.
where could I find the double-encoding fixing script?
do you mean the massive error warning thing somewhere in the bottom of the installer?
I might get access there Jyhem: So, my suggestion is : 1/ backup database 2/ go to installer nd run the double-encoding fixing script 3/ quit installer, flush caches and look if things improved
Yes, the massive error warning thing somewhere in the bottom of the installer :) That one :)
If it works, bingo. If it does not, restore from the database backup I mentioned at step 1 (and flush again)
This is for the wiki pages contents, maybe the page names would still have an issue
