I'm using tikiwiki 9.0. sometimes the page gets duplicated and I have to delete half of it. Does anyone know the fix for this?

no tabs anymore in tiki-admin.php, no hiding of remarksboxes, no wikipage toolbar and no tabs when editing wikipages
did not check for more
I am wondering if this is caused by one single commit
it is a fresh checkout with nearly no changes and freshly svned up a few minutes ago

hello i need help configuring mobile module
now my mobile module loads the entire site but i wish it to load only logo and search box just like wikipedia's mobile site
could anyone please help me to configure mobile perspective???
fabricius: joined #tikiwiki
hi chibaguy
harman: anybody there
?
fabricius: yes a few of us ... most seem to be busy
chibaguy: hi fabricius
hi harman. Sorry I don't know about the mobile module.
harman: could to help me to configure mobile perpective?
fabricius: ooops ... not relly into that
harman: its alright #chibaguy #fabricius
can you name any mobile module expert that can help me?
fabricius: what is the problem? perspectives in general (I might be able to give one or another hint about the concept) or mobile in specific (not into that right now)
jonny bradley from london, but very busy he is these days
harman: yes perpective help is enough
i wish to turn off (lets say quick_admin for a perpective), how do i do that
basically i wish to turn off few modules from a perpective
thats all i wish to learn
chibaguy: Maybe it can be done at tiki-edit_perspective.php
Generally, perspectives' contents are edited there.
I guess you can click on the mobile perspective and delete (by dragging?) the modules out of it.
harman: i have opened mobile module, it doesnt contain any modules but it loads my entire wesbite modules
chibaguy: at tiki-edit_perspective.php?
harman: yes it shows mobile perpective
then i clicked on it
and it now shows these>> slideshow, print, users can shoose not to have tabs, theme
thats all
chibaguy: I see.
harman: and slideshow(jquery.s5)
so where do i go from here
chibaguy: I'm not sure. It seems the mobile view isn't very configurable.
I wonder if there's a CSS class that could be used to prevent display of some modules. I'm not sure how to see the mobile site using my normal browser.
harman: goto MOBILEPHONEEMULATOR.COM
it gives you iphone/android/blackberry modes
see wikidontia.com there, which is my site
?
chibaguy: Well, I loaded tiki.org first, to check it. Using Opera's DOM inspector, I don't see any special CSS classes in the mobile view, unfortunately.
harman: ok i found i loophole
u know we can edit a module to make it appear for specific perpective
so if i enter the default tiki installation perpective, it would be visible only to that and accordingly invisible to mobile perpective
rather than editing perpective i can just edit each module to appear strictly on default website perpective
fabricius: shoulkd be that way
-k
harman: ok so whats the default tiki installation perpective?
i guess
1 or 2 is for mobile i uess
guess*
chibaguy: You should see the perspective id numbers in the url when on the edit-perspective pages.
fabricius: hah ... afail
hah ... afaik you have to set a perspective as for mobile
and default is (that seems to depend on whatsoever) aswell default as 0
normally 0 should work
Tiki|bot: New Commit: lphuberdeau committed r43228 to the Tiki SVN, changing 2 files - http://tikiwiki.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/tikiwiki?view=rev&revision=43228
harman: so "0" is for default while 1 or 2 is for mobile, so i put 0 in module it will be visible only for default website
let me try that right now
chibaguy: I wonder if there is a "negate" or "not-mobile" syntax to cause the module not to display in the mobile perspective.
harman: if its not there, it could be recommended for tiki 10
fabricius: should be "wished" or simply mentioned to Jonny
lphuberdeau: joined #tikiwiki
fabricius: if I think on it, I'll mention it on the todays mininar
we talke about that before - should be added
talked
harman: yes, considering how everyone has iphone/androids.. u have no idea how ppl can start using tiki just bcuz it could be so much scalable on mobile platforms
Tiki|bot: New Commit: jyhem committed r43229 to the Tiki SVN, changing 1 files - http://tikiwiki.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/tikiwiki?view=rev&revision=43229
harman: and then they can even create apps simply linking to their site bcuz tiki would automatically be loading mobile version
which is pretty much what i did... i created an android app just out of mobile perpective.. all for free!
ricks99: @harman: have you seen my Tiki mobile app: http://tiki.org/blogpost472
harman: let me check it
chibaguy: Modules can be told to not display in a theme by using "!jqui.css" for example. Maybe the theme perspective argument like "!1" (if mobile is perspective 1) would work.
harman: so !1 would work as well.. let me try
fabricius: IF 1 is set for mobile
harman: hey guys add me on facebook, just for future i guess lol
fabricius: have to go out for a few minutes ... brb
rodrigoprimo: joined #tikiwiki
harman: YES!!!!! IT WORKED!! WOOHOOO

Jyhem: kstingel: no, that's what {toc} is for
hi jonnyb :) beat me
jonnyb: :)
hi Harman
Harman: hello jonny b.. u r the mobile module expert right
jonnyb: Harman: your q earlier (how do i disable HIGHLIGHT thing off search result?) - there's a checkbox for that in admin/search i think
kstingel: where do I find the {maketoc} plugin, so I can use it as a base to create my own custom plugin based on it?
jonnyb: sort of i guess
kstingel: ... I've searched the wiki-plugins folder, but I haven't seen it
lphuberdeau: maketoc is part of the parser itself, it's not a plugin
jonnyb: hi lphuberdeau - that's what i was typing ;)
lphuberdeau: I tried a few times to extract it, but it's not as simple as it looks ;)
kstingel: and while I'm at it .... is the dump feature controlled by a plugin, or do I have to look elsewhere to create a customised copy of that?
redflo: joined #tikiwiki
Harman: well is there any way to make the left menu load first before the content body
lphuberdeau: dump feature?
jonnyb: Harman: not currently, but you could use top, topbar or pagetop for that
kstingel: Wiki-> dump ... gives me convenient HTML pages of current Wiki, but I want one that will also parse for images and dump them
Harman: ok.. thanks for the mobile module.. its simply awesome for regular users to view website content especially
one more question, how do i permanently disable HIGHLIGHT search results! my team finds it more annoying than useful
jonnyb: Harman: thanks for using it :) (and do add anything useful you learn about it to the doc page, thanks)
ricks99|away: Harman: I believe there is an option in the Admin: Search to control highlighting
jonnyb: there's a checkbox for that in admin/search i think
-: ricks99|away HA HA. Rick beat Jonny to the punch. :)
Harman: i did uncheck highlight search referer, still it highlights the search results
kstingel: am trying to build a "Quick and Dirty" ePub from Tiki script :)
need to be able to use some variables to refine the dump, so I figured I would start from the dump feature, and expand on it
refizul: jonnyb: there is still an issue if someone is not logged in, as follows:
kstingel: hi rick
ricks99|away: hi kstingel.

refizul: both problems disappear when you login
Harman: @ricks99.. your app is pretty good
@jonnyb.. i added few lines to mobile perspectives to make things easier for new mobile users
added lines to doc*
jonnyb: yay, thanks Harman
Harman: the search highlight works fine for me, but that's using unified search - maybe you're still on mysql search?
Harman: i still need a solution to disable this "http://wikidontia.com/tiki-searchresults.php?highlight=" this last "highlight=" ????
yes i am on mysql search
whats the difference btwn two?
jonnyb: mysql is old, comes up with weird (unhelpful) results, unified search uses Lucene and is being developed currently
Harman: i have both of them ticked.. should i uncheck mysql search? is it going to affect search results?
jonnyb: uni-search builds an index, which can need some help on very large sites
try it - it depends if your index is ok
Harman: lets say i have an estimated database of 10 gb.. where do i stand?
jonnyb: coo - you have files in there? or millions of pages etc?
Harman: i am working on making worlds largest dental encyclopedia ( i m a dental student.. almost a dentist..few months away from that)
kstingel: can pluginWYSIWYG elements contain other plugin elements?
Harman: i have team of volunteers working with me on making it
expected 20,000 articles by next summer
jonnyb: not used it much with articles, but i have a tracker with 15,000 or so items and that works fine (but needs a cron job to maintain the index)
Harman: so should i uncheck mysql search and just keep unified? would that be fine with accurate result? (i highly depend on search.. as i have an app to launch for that too)
jonnyb: impossible to say, but try it (carefully, make backups etc)
Harman: one last thing.. please help me decide a good vps configuration from here http://www.bigrock.in/vps-hosting.php
would V3 server be fine?
jonnyb: yes, 1GB memory should be fine (tiki likes RAM)

Harman_: hi
everyone
Finally thanks to documentation and perspectives, everything is just perfect now, the way i wanted :-)
fabricius: Profiles: I did try with a Tiki 8 yesterday and it did not work ... I think the profiles website might have a problem ... it seems to be a server problem, not a client problem
^ marclaporte kstingel|lurking
refizul: Harman_: no, cloud isn't an alternative. The setup is based upon dedicated servers, with self-administered VPS.
kstingel: @fabricus thanks for that

thx LPH
lphuberdeau: would need direct db access to fix that
fabricius: who has?
lphuberdeau: I really don't know where it comes from
changi probably does
kstingel: profiles is unavailable from Tiki 7 too ... I just found an unused older install I could check with
marclaporte: page without a name: I have seen that before. It's impossible to delete via Tiki interface
fabricius: LPH seems to have found the problem
lphuberdeau: the problem is on profiles.tiki.org
so it is version independent
fabricius: I do not find the page in the list ... how did you find?
lphuberdeau: I don't know precisely where it comes from
fabricius: so you are assumin?
+g
hmm
lphuberdeau: http://profiles.tiki.org/profiles is the page hit by the tiki installs
and the first entry is invalid
tiki-browse_categories.php when searching Profiles with deep mode also displays it (same page)
fabricius: what is with the Asterisks in the page names - is that OK?
http://profiles.tiki.org/profiles seems not to be a wikipage ... must be made with a rewrite rule
lphuberdeau: I don't know exactly, don't have enough access to dig deeper
fabricius: changi ... r u there?
kstingel: is there anyway to set individual paths for file galleries (Tiki 9.1)?
I have created a folder 'images' as the master FileGalleries path, but I would like each new gallery to be in a folder below that
refizul: I've got found a few more issues with the tiki.org website.
lphuberdeau: refizul, that's not an option yet
refizul: where should it be transmitted to?
lphuberdeau: ?
fabricius: no option to find more issues
refizul: lphuberdeau: the issues with the tiki.org website, little bugs or so -- where am I supposed to transmit them to?
lphuberdeau: oh, sorry, my fault, that message was for kstingel actually<
generally issues with tiki.org go on the dev list
refizul: lphuberdeau: so what did you mean with "that's not an option yet"?
or was this due to kstingel?
radek82: joined #tikiwiki
fabricius: hehe

sry for kidding ;-)
kstingel: to clarify my earlier question:
I know how to set Tiki to save file in Directory ... have created a directory 'images' to save files to (since my files will be screenshots)
when creating new FileGalleries for specific groups of images, I can't see a way to set where uploaded files are stored
... do I set that via a Template, or can I do it when creating the new (child) Gallery?
marclaporte: lphuberdeau & torsten: I see page here: http://profiles.tiki.org/tiki-browse_categories.php?parentId=3&deep=off&type=
fabricius: hah #
marclaporte lphuberdeau the page # with no name cannot be listed -> how to delete then? no delete option in the browse_categories.php
lphuberdeau: kstingel, there is no option that I know of in tiki for that (and I was pretty close to that this morning)
fabricius: that's why I need more access...
marclaporte: exactly. fabricius : can you try to see how this page was created?
(in action log)
hopefully, changi will magically appear
fabricius: lphuberdeau: I am pretty sure, that you need access to the db
kstingel: lphuberdeau thanks, I'll see what I can hack together and get back to you here if I achieve something
fabricius: argl
marclaporte: actionlog is not really doing what I want (not fully) ... I seem not to be given enlightenment
not enlighted, sorry
arrgl marclaporte lphuberdeau we have TWO unnamed pages now!
lphuberdeau: that's really strange
fabricius: Does anybody remember how to view a wikipage by Id number instead of name?

marclaporte: refizul: what are the problems you see on tiki.org and can you fix them?

Tiki|bot: New Commit: amette committed r43236 to the Tiki SVN, changing 1 files - http://tikiwiki.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/tikiwiki?view=rev&revision=43236
fabricius: marclaporte: still some db-work necessary - just a workaround with categories
23:15:59 - marclaporte: fabricius: do you know how to make ghost page? <= not to create, but to hide from anonymous as long as they are categorised ;-)
refizul: marclaporte: they are very strange, I cannot track them down on the genotype level (CSS), but:
using Google Chrome Browser (not Chromium, no problems with that one), and only on info.tiki.org and only with https protocol, the drop down menus about, features and contact do not work properly
there isn't the drop down triangle and there seems to be a liitle gab, so the menu disappears when I move the mouse slowly downwards
kstingel: is the Tiki parser one main file, or a heap of different ones?
... or in plain terms, if I want see how Tiki parses wiki syntax (and how it knows about which plugins are used in a page)
is there a single file to look at, or a complete folder?
Tiki|bot: Recent Bug: Tracker item: #4301 - - Detect empty page names are permit to delete or rename - http://dev.tiki.org/item4301
refizul: the gap may have to do with CSS, and I try to figure out whether CSS files aren't loaded properly

kstingel: I'm thinking that there's no point re-inventing the wheel, if I can piggyback on the main parser for core interpretation, then I can just extend that to create my packager script
refizul: some of the site's included files use an insecure protocol (http hardcoded) - this could be the reason. I saw this behaviour elsewhere in the past.
I can neither reproduce this bug (?) with chromium nor with Firefox.
And there is no similar behaviour at dev or doc
Tiki|bot: New Commit: amette committed r43237 to the Tiki SVN, changing 3 files - http://tikiwiki.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/tikiwiki?view=rev&revision=43237
