mlaportehahahaha
about file perms as part or tarball/zip: any idea on feasibility?
[04:06]
refizulavatar is issue 13 at the TWR::minor+issues [04:07]
mlaporteok, good. normally, you only should have to update at tiki.org and when you login on another *.tiki.org site, all user prefs are transferred (tks to doc.tiki.org/InterT)
doc.tiki.org/InterTiki
[04:09]
refizulabout perms: It'd be helpful if something didn't work at all. I need to see the problem to ensure I understand the cause (and that I'm not just fixing the symptome)
Why am I logged in at next.t.o? That's really odd.
[04:09]
mlaporteok, I can send you SSH/cPanel to one of my servers. From there you can unzip Tiki package and see the problem
next.tiki.org is a http://tiki.org/Pre-Dogfood+Server
it's on the same server as tiki.org and has all same data but upgraded to Tiki10, so maybe a feature/bug depending on your use case
[04:11]
refizulah - next: you use cookies with domain .tiki.org
oh - this does not work with Firefox, only with Chrome
Google seems to break a security line here
SSH/cPanel with the bug?
I got the email
[04:23]
mlaporteOliver must have set up the cookies so as to have SSO between tiki.org and de.tiki.org and next got this as well [04:32]
refizulI'll do the testing stuff tomorrow. I'm tired and won't see the bug right now. Probably it's something simple.
SSO at de.t.o is not posible as fabricius said, it is another setup, not intertiki
but if Oliver is the cookie guy he should know about the http/https thing
[04:33]
mlaporte2joined #tikiwiki [04:41]
ok, well a questiom for Oliver then (ohertel) [04:47]
What would be arguments against putting everything to https all the time for all *.tiki.org traffic? [04:52]
refizulthis is highly debateble, so we need option at this point very urgently
switching tiki.org to https only?
Do I understand this right? You suggest https only for tiki.org?
I don't think this'd be a good idea - most users are not used it.
And some companies' networks don't allow https because they want to block certain sites with a proxy
the cookie fix with "stay in ssl" option will do the job
[04:52]
mlaporte2ok, I see [05:00]
refizulok, enough for today. Tomorrow is testing day. cu then, hopefully with some results [05:00]

hello i m Rahul.. i want to update my tiki6 to tiki9.1
i have installed and upload old database. but not showing update option
[15:47]
refizulthe text description on the website's admin pages as "email" or something seems to be in comments in the code - is this correct?
so: do I change the comments of an .php to change the text on the website?
[15:51]
ricks99raj_: run the installer and be sure to reset your database connection [15:52]
refizule.g. language.php : // "Use 0 for no caching" => "Use 0 for no caching", [15:53]
ricks99refizul: yes, you can update the language.php file [15:54]
refizulah - that's the en template [15:54]
ricks99the tpl files use english as the lang.
ricks99 can't wait for the day when *all* text strings are externalized
[15:55]
marclaporteraj_: 9.2 is coming out any day now
marclaporte can't wait for an active http://tiki.org/i18n+Team which takes leadership on all such issues
[15:56]
refizulHow does the translation work? Is this a string replacement from English to foo-language? [15:57]
ricks99y
essentially
[15:58]
refizulbut where is the master text defined? [16:00]
ricks99in the tpl
{tr}master text{/tr}
[16:00]
raj_its required to overwrite old php file on new tiki9 ? [16:02]
refizulI suppose there is no single master language file - the master text ist distributed
./lib/prefs/feed.php: 'name' => tra('Feeed author email'),
So I need to change this and then I need to change all language.php files, right?
[16:03]
ricks99refizul: yes, if you're chaning English text, it is a huge P*I*T*A. non-English language chagnes are much easier, via i18n.tiki.org server
note that there is a script to do mass english changes. see dev page for detilas.
raj_: Which php file do you mean?
you can manually edit your ../db/local.php file to point to the old (tiki 6) database, then run the installer to upgrade it.
[16:06]
marclaporteRobertPlummer: can you come to #svg-edit? [16:09]
ricks99: why don't you just change lang/en/language.php ? [16:16]
ricks99because it will still be wrong in the tpl
and since the en in language.php would no longer match the actual TPL, it would be very hard to find a specific TPL, based on language
[16:18]
raj_can u tell me what is required to update tiki6 to tiki9.. i have installed tiki9. and upload database.. but i m not showing update option. [16:21]
ricks99raj_: run the tiki9 installer. select the old database. select UPGRADE
see docs for details: http://doc.tiki.org/Upgrade

but not show upgrade option
[16:23]

amettejonnyb: good thing that you worked on the "Site closed" thingy. Because I have a similar thing to do with PHPIDS. The check for an intrusion attempt happens in tiki-setup.php and smarty is not fully available there. So to create some kind of nicer template, I would have to use the same kind of approach, right?! Should I extend tiki-error_simple.php or create a new one especially for this use case? Or do you have yet another idea? [19:21]
jonnybhi amette [19:21]
ametteit happens in tiki-setup_base.php
hi jonnyb :)
[19:21]
jonnybyes, you could add a new param for template which defaults to 'site_closed' if empty (so you could use ids_report.html or ids_report_local.html if found) [19:24]
ametteyes, and another param for not showing the login box [19:24]
jonnybjust don't include {login} in the html [19:25]
ametteah, right, it's another template then! [19:25]
jonnybwould have thought you need a different one, don't you? maybe not... [19:26]
arildbjonnyb: What hapens is that Java crashes when running under IE9 + 1) capture image then in same editor 2) capture video. Java dies at #2 [19:27]
amettewell, I thought I could use title and error params and add login=n (or actually perhaps reverse the latter) [19:27]
jonnybhaving the error on the url means it can't be too complex (although you could always POST to it i guess) [19:27]

jonnybhi coaboa [20:49]
d0csterokay let me explain my problem [20:49]
jonnybjonnyb was hoping you weren't going to say that... [20:49]
d0csteri have a websvn (php script) situated in a subfolder in the same webserver
i add an option to menu via a feaured link, thus users can view the code repo
the problème that a user can also view the repo even if he is not identified (logged in) :/
[20:49]
refizuleven if I delete it from svn and then add it, no diff [20:50]
d0csterso the question is
how to protect the access to websvn using tiki authentification system
[20:50]
jonnybhave you tried "basic auth" mode? [20:52]
d0csterwhat do you mean by basic auth ? [20:52]
jonnyb(i haven't but it might work somehow) [20:52]
d0csterfor websvn ? [20:52]
jonnybwell you need the same authentication for both right? [20:53]
d0csteryes
but
i use ldap
[20:53]
jonnybfor both? [20:53]
d0csterno just for tiki, all registred users can view websvn
so how can i check that user is identified from websvn ?
:/
[20:54]
jonnybcheck the docs for websvn?
maybe there's an ldap option for it
[20:56]
d0csterthe only way to use ldap with websvn, is to use it for whole website through apache [20:57]
jonnybarildb: just captured an image, then a movie in ie8 wysiwyg mode - all fine i'm afraid (latest java, really old xp sp3) [20:57]
arildbso, maybe it's an IE9 problem...or matbe it's my installation...
would be good to have somebody else try IE9
[20:58]
jonnybtiki can't "protect" external resources - only ones that use tiki-setup.php really
arildb: i'm guessing marclaporte will have a go when he has time
[20:58]
arildbsounds right
ok
[20:58]
jonnybd0cster: is it http://websvn.tigris.org ? [21:00]
d0csteryep
this is the only missing feature in tiki wiki :)
[21:00]
jonnybthere are a couple... [21:01]
d0cster:)
like ?
[21:02]
jonnybi'm sure marclaporte has a list :) [21:02]
d0cster:D alors marc is this true ? [21:04]
jonnyblooks like websvn can use "basic auth" (tiki calls it "Web server" authentiaction)
but that's not going to cooperate with ldap :(
d0cster: there's a bit in install.html about it - http://tinyurl.com/9myavrh
[21:05]
d0csterit can, there is some options to check in the general loggin page for this use, but it's really heavy, it takes time, a lot of time when loggin in, beacuse server try to sync groups /users... [21:07]
jonnybi've heard that about ldap, not used it myself [21:07]
d0csterideal solution is to use the tikiwiki auth system and base to identify users [21:09]
refizulThe whole subdir lib/jquery.sheet/ is strange. I add a file to svn, but I cannot commit and no diff. I modify this file, try to delete it from svn, and get a svn warning, but svn diff shows nothing. [21:10]
jonnybyou'd need to contact the websvn guys i think - tiki can do a token auth thing (time limited access) but they would need to integrate it
refizul: jquery.sheet is an external project, you shouldn't be changing it from within tiki - see RobertPlummer, he runs that one

RobertPlummerfabricius: jison parser = alpha, but mostly stable
fabricius: HOWEVER, jison + CKEditor = NO!!!!!!

fabriciusso jison+wysiwyg=no? [23:02]
RobertPlummerat this time. [23:02]
fabriciusOk
so jison is where I use just and only wikisyntax!?
[23:02]
RobertPlummerI've spent about a year setting up the foundation for building the implementation, and we are nearly to the point we can start on building it.
We needed a stable parser, a way of dissecting syntax and reusing code.
The parser has been literally rebuilt, syntax by syntax.
We've segregated things like negotiating plugin, lists, headers, into their own class that can be extended or overridden.

d0csterJyhem_laptop: yep i post the result in the thread: http://tiki.org/tiki-view_forum_thread.php?comments_parentId=44265 [23:07]

tikiwiki [FIX] Despite German i18n: module options are in English, so description of options mustn't translate them
[23:08]
Jyhem_laptopd0cster: I see :-(
No solution here but I can give you the trick for real error messages instead of white screen of death:
at the bottom of tiki-setup.php
place:
ini_set("display_errors",1);
error_reporting(E_ALL);
[23:15]
d0csterokay thanks [23:17]
Jyhem_laptopthen you should see more about the issue.
I guess the big issue is, Tiki expects all paths relative to the tiki root directory
[23:17]
jonnybd0cster: (looking at your code in the forum) you could try changing the working directory to '../' before the include_one [23:18]
Jyhem_laptopI wonder if you could get include_path='.:/usr/share/php:/usr/share/pear:/var/www/tiki' [23:18]
d0csterhow can i change this and where, should i use include_path='.:/usr/share/php:/usr/share/pear:/var/www/tiki'
?
at the begining ?
[23:19]
jonnybi think tiki code will get confused if it doesn't think the current dir is tikiroot [23:20]
Jyhem_laptopsorry, I don't know. Probably something in htaccess or php.ini. [23:20]
jonnybtry chdir('../') just before the include [23:20]
Jyhem_laptopjonny's idea seems easier to try
and presumably a chdir() back after the test?
[23:21]
RobertPlummerJyhem_laptop: Did you see the new method I added to Tracker_Query?
Jyhem_laptop: ->delete();
[23:22]
Jyhem_laptopRobertPlummer: sorry, no I was not paying attention [23:23]
RobertPlummerJyhem_laptop: Just thought you'd want to know. [23:23]
d0csterokay thank you both, i'll try this [23:23]
redflojoined #tikiwiki [23:24]
Jyhem_laptopSure, but I only just got my head out of a long project. [23:25]
RobertPlummerjonnyb: Plus I can't help it, the more I deal with parsers, the more I enjoy using them. [23:26]
fabricius23:16:54 - Jyhem_laptop: error_reporting(E_ALL); <==> why this is not in tiki-setup.php by default? [23:27]
RobertPlummerjonnyb: a must see if you have a moment ^ [23:28]
Jyhem_laptopfabricius: some people believe error messages provide information which are bad to give out for security reasons. [23:28]
fabriciusahhhh WOW RobertPlummer jonnyb .... Jyhem_laptop look at that! [23:28]
Jyhem_laptopJyhem_laptop looks at ''that'' [23:29]

Jyhem_laptopoh
Jyhem_laptop was busy answering and missed the link
[23:29]
RobertPlummerjust noticed a bug, the images are not changing.

arildb__joined #tikiwiki [23:44]
RobertPlummerfabricius: So you like it? [23:45]
fabriciusyes
is it sortable?
[23:45]

tikiwiki [FIX] data-altImg to altimg, seems some browsers don't like it
tikiwiki [ENH] added shift+click = expand all
[23:46]
RobertPlummerfabricius: I'm not sure it could be. [23:46]
fabriciusyou did write on your website [23:46]
RobertPlummerfabricius: about it being sortable? [23:47]
Jyhem_laptopI like it :) [23:47]
RobertPlummerBending the new parser is so much fun! [23:47]
Jyhem_laptoptrying to think of a real-life use-case now :) [23:47]
RobertPlummerThat is the use case.
University needed it
[23:47]
luciashRobertPlummer: add cookie to keep the collapsed/expanded state for viewer when page is reloaded [23:48]
fabriciusRobertPlummer: no, about ... WebCompendia with an ExpandingOutline-Format and SortableTable-Metadata ... so it is not fully clear for me ... maybe SortableTableMetadate belongs to s.th. ele? [23:48]
RobertPlummerfabricius: That is a different project [23:48]
fabriciusanyway I like as I see it ... with or without sort [23:48]
Jyhem_laptopRobertPlummer: can I make a usability suggestion (aka more work) [23:48]
fabriciushehe [23:48]
RobertPlummerfabricius: The expanding outline here is used to describe the components of a project.
Jyhem_laptop: Speak up buddy.
[23:49]
fabriciusRobertPlummer: sure ... did read some of it (not all expands ;-) [23:49]
RobertPlummerUser case: http://www.omnigroup.com/products/omnioutliner/ [23:49]
Jyhem_laptopdetect double-click on a section head and then unwrap everything below (recursively) [23:49]
luciashfabricius: you can wrap it in {SORT()} plugin [23:49]
RobertPlummerfabricius: Which tiers?
"Indispensable idea organization" = Expanding outline
[23:49]
luciashfabricius: probably not useful [23:50]
RobertPlummerfabricius: A tier is 1.1.1.1
The whole idea of the expanding outline is so that you will know exactly where something is in the whole of the idea you are describing.
I think too, using this with jQuery.s5 will be useful.
[23:50]

fabriciusRobertPlummer: which tier? what is a tier?
luciash: what not useful?
[23:53]
RobertPlummerfabricius: A tier is 1.1.1.1 [23:53]
Jyhem_laptopis that what shift-click is supposed to do ? [23:53]
fabriciusahh sry RobertPlummer
luciash: just did read back ... understand .. thx
[23:53]
jonnybdone for now, more later... nn [23:55]
arildb_joined #tikiwiki [23:55]
fabriciusRobertPlummer: the shift+click thing seems to me not really finished ... hance a good idea and mostlikely will be extende!?
