RobertPlummeroh ok.
Just thought I'd throw you a bone ;)
but it could use some tlc. FileGallery doesn't exist yet, but would be a great addition.
So the code you are creating now jonnyb, if it has to do with gallery lookup, permissions, etc, why not create the new class FileGallery and put those in a general reusable method there, and use them in your code.
When I start coding, I imidiatly try and think "How can I reuse this same code elsewhere". And I find that the extra minutes spent there, are saved later.
[16:09]
jonnybhad to be done quicky quick to get into 10 pre-branch - would preferred to have a few days for this kind of thing [16:15]

If it cannot be done right, you are going to create double the work later.

RobertPlummerBig day for the parser guys, if I remember this was an issue in the past... ((not parsed|parsed)) on wiki syntax for links.
Now supported in jison
And guess what you can do:
((not parsed|(MYPLUGIN()}||table|table|table||{MYPLUGIN}))
for example

:)
"((WikiPage|||table|table|table||))" is now a valid and working syntax
lol, emoticons are confused.
[20:26]
jonnybbut is the html is makes valid? [20:27]
RobertPlummer<a href""><table></table></a> [20:27]
lphuberdeaudon't you think people already do enough weird stuff with wiki syntax? [20:27]
jonnybyes, don't think that's allowed [20:27]
RobertPlummerAgain this was just an example of dynamics, I even put that on the test. [20:28]
lphuberdeauactually, html5 is softer on those types of things [20:28]
RobertPlummerThe idea is stability. It isn't an edge case thing, it is to check dynamics.
I picked table because it uses "|" which could make the link break, and I wanted to make it simply work.
Wiki links are pretty complex, but what we have achieved seems amazing. <a href="link" title="unparsed">parsed</a> it is a really neat scenario and a way to stretch our legs with wiki syntax.

RobertPlummerluciash: I'll let you manage that.
:)
How about we build the standard, make it stable, then start limiting if needed.
[21:08]
luciashthat is what parser is about, no ? define rules, then make it happen [21:08]
lphuberdeaurobert, if it makes it in an official release, it becomes harder to limit it afterwards [21:09]
RobertPlummerluciash: I'm not arguing that, there are higher piorities though right now, like wikilink parsing. [21:09]
lphuberdeaubetter to limit it first [21:09]
luciashyep, i also think limit it first and add as necessary [21:09]
RobertPlummerStill guys, there are highligher priorities right now.
And it is experimental.
[21:09]
fabriciuslimit it first and extend it later lphuberdeau ? [21:09]
RobertPlummerI think this should happen before it replaces the current parser.
I'm neck deep in wikilinks guys, give me some slack.
[21:09]
lphuberdeaurobert, you started the discussion, not us ;) [21:10]
fabriciusexperimantal is cool .... it's for experimenting ... what's possible ... need not everything go to release [21:10]

luciashRobertPlummer: no pressure, no rush, i just tend to think twice [21:11]
RobertPlummerI'm waisting time! I'm on a role! [21:11]

RobertPlummerlphuberdeau: You can't steal my thunder today!
:)
jk
[21:12]
luciashRobertPlummer: np, if you are on fire, rock on, it was just a bit controversial example of what you gave would be possible ! :) [21:12]
RobertPlummerfabricius: Oh right, that is just another alternate output for lists, could build it in a few minutes(the processor), but the page may take a little while. If you want to export the current sql to a menu, I could throw something together.
luciash like this:
*Item1{FEAUTURE()}
**Feature{FEATURE}{GROUP(groups="my_group")}
***Group{GROUP}
*Item
Better yet would be a converter, that'd be AWESOME!
Output to wiki sytnax from menu would make it easier to do all kinds of things.
[21:14]
fabriciusRobertPlummer: what you mean with "export the current sql to a menu"? [21:16]
RobertPlummerfabricius: It'd be tricky, but you'd need a way to reconstruct the current menu into an array, and then cycle through it to get wiki syntax. [21:17]
fabriciuspls mind, that I am not a coder, even as I always am keen on learning to understand the coders way of thinking [21:17]
RobertPlummerah, maybe better wait then. [21:17]
fabriciusI'm just not sure, if I understand what you point me to [21:18]
RobertPlummerfabricius: nm [21:18]
fabriciusyou needed a few more words for me and explain it the simple way ... chances are, that I get it
RobertPlummer: so reconstruct the menu: you mean to recode the menu creating php file?
RobertPlummer: at the moment it is not an array / in an array? and an array is kind of a list?+
[21:19]
RobertPlummerfabricius: Basically. That would be the ideal feature. The other option would be to build it once by hand. But I say, do it right once. [21:20]
fabriciusI managed to make up an html css-menu in a module, that is generally working [21:21]
RobertPlummeran array is a programmatic list of the same type of a variable.

fabriciusjonnyb luciash RobertPlummer ... jb, pls tell me more about the mystic wikisyntax in menus [21:58]
RobertPlummerfabricius: The idea is to use wiki syntax for menus to simplify how they are designed. We would cache them as a module, and use an alternate list output to display them. [21:59]
jonnybthere's a new checkbox on menu edit - wiki parse [21:59]
RobertPlummerjonnyb: This is a different feature.
jonnyb: I think the menu system is pretty difficult for most people to use, and wiki syntax is not much better. But for us devs, it is cake.
[22:00]
jonnybyes, in 9.2 - mainly because the missing quotes hack stopped working [22:00]
fabriciusjonnyb luciash RobertPlummer - let's say, I want a plugin {include()}being a menuitem -> is that possible and where and how?
RobertPlummer jonnyb I do not agree!
[22:00]
RobertPlummerfabricius: No, it is not possible right now. But with a little wiki syntax + javascript you could have it working. [22:02]
luciashjonnyb: yes, it is already in 9.1 :( seems showstopper for me to upgrade because I need also this in the URL fields for some items to be non-clickable with default cursor: #" style="cursor: default" onclick="javascript:return false; [22:02]
jonnybfabricius: turn on wiki parse on your menu - most syntax works but suckfish css menus squashes some stuff [22:02]

And if I can get passed the wikilinks, we will have nearly a non-experimental parser......
[22:06]
fabriciusRobertPlummer: I believe you ... cannot wait, but will wait with patience [22:07]

RobertPlummerwikilinks work well, but man whoever coded this, they REALLY took the long road.

[22:07]

RobertPlummerI'm sure they evolved, but there are so many levels are execution, it is mad.
execution and handlers.
lphuberdeau: was it you that coded wikilinks in their currect state in the old parser?
ei OutputLink.php
[22:08]
lphuberdeauextracted the code at some point [22:09]
RobertPlummerlphuberdeau: I'm simplifying it, should be very short when done. [22:09]
lphuberdeauseems like you just said "I'm going to remove all the stuff I don't understand" [22:10]
RobertPlummerlol, trust me, that isn't what I said.
I'm simplifying execution.
[22:10]
lphuberdeaubecause I feel that code is simple enough
(and it has unit tests covering it)
[22:10]
RobertPlummerMost of the parsing for the jison parser is in the jison parser. In the old parser for wikilinks it is in OutputLink it looks. [22:11]
luciashjonnyb: btw, i suspect it could be just someone changed keeping raw quotes in the URL field there to encode them into &quot; - that's it ? [22:11]
RobertPlummerWell, the biggest thing is that the ckeditor bits will be extracted for it's own list handler. [22:11]
jonnybfabricius: switch on checkbox on menu edit - wiki parse, than use wiki syntax in the menu option labels [22:12]

RobertPlummerlphuberdeau: Needs to be an alternate handler, that way the code stays clean, I feel. [22:14]

Bsfez1about regression, creating a wiki page under cat perm worked in TW6, not anymore in TW9 i'm trying to find the regression… but i feel like i have little hand suddenly :) [22:58]
redflojoined #tikiwiki [23:01]
lphuberdeaujoined #tikiwiki [23:04]
fabriciusWOW ... have seen this in another newer cxheckout, but never realised
WHO made this?
it's perfect!!!
LIKE!!!!
+1000
wikisyntaxmenu!!!
THANKS!
[23:09]
luciashfabricius: what are you pointing at ? :)
"this"
[23:11]
fabriciusWikiSyntaxMenuitems!!! luciash [23:12]
luciashfabricius: ah, finally found it ? [23:13]
fabriciusyes!
the point is the following luciash ... you remember the menupopoutfields from Barcelona3 ? and the systempages system::whatever ? I mean with the reirect and the {include(page=XYZ) /} ?
[23:13]
luciashyup yup [23:15]
fabriciussystem::pagename starts with a {REDIRECT(page=HomePage)} then !starthere !endthere
teh outcome, when I do this into the wikiparsed namefield of a menuitem:
{include page="system::pagename" start="!starthere" stop="!stopthere"}
guess!
-teh +the
- :p + :: p
[23:15]
luciashi do not know what will happen as this is per one menu item and i thought you had whole menus in those pages [23:18]
fabriciusluciash !!! INCLUDE!!! -> it is EXACTLY the SAME result than in Barcelona3 - no HTML manual code
THIS IS what I wanted to have ... simple ... include a section of a systempage as menuitem
[23:19]
luciashsorry i do not remember you had a menu with manual html code in menu options there [23:20]
fabriciusmake it in a top bar -> popoutmenufield
luciash: it was just a proof of concept in Barcelona3
[23:20]
luciashi thought you avoided menus at all and used custom module instead
anyway, nice it makes you so happy :)
thanks to jonny i think
[23:21]
fabriciusand in the intranetproject i need nice imagelinks
make things visual and easy
I can bigtime use this ... start today
and I'll document it all+
WOW
[23:22]
jonnybthanks luciash - i'd be careful with include etc in menu options... not very tested [23:23]
luciashyep, that is good use case [23:23]
jonnybimg is ok though :) [23:23]
fabriciuswho made it? I want to thank the guy in person
and be sure, it will instantly be used for the website revamp suggestion
a very good and maybe really important piece of code ... good for UI stuff and good for marketing stuff ... I am so impressed, sorry
lucky day!
[23:23]
jonnybluciash: here comes fix for trunk... [23:29]
luciashjonnyb: yay ! [23:31]
jonnybr43594 on it's way - bp to 9.x next (if it's ok) [23:31]
Tiki-KGBtikiwiki 03jonnybradley r43594 10trunk/templates/tiki-user_cssmenu.tpl
tikiwiki [FIX] menus: Make menus_item_names_raw work with sefurl so it doesn't encode menu urls (had to refromat slightly to expose logic)
tikiwiki Thanks luciash (& apologies)
[23:32]
luciashluciash goes to test
jonnyb: yep, sefurl enabled and it works now... thx ! now the backport so we have superb 9.2 !
:)
[23:32]
jonnybthanks, will do [23:35]
RobertPlummerlphuberdeau: Mostly plugged up now, just not finding some pages when running the unit test, what gives? [23:36]
fabriciusstill nowone says, who deserves my three kisses [23:36]
RobertPlummerlphuberdeau: I mean "HomePage" is a given. [23:36]
lphuberdeaua stub is used for the page lookup normally [23:38]
RobertPlummerlphuberdeau: I see, so I can force it from the db?
On unit tests.
[23:38]
lphuberdeaunot even in the db... [23:38]
luciashfabricius: i already told "thanks to jonny i think" [23:38]
jonnybfor wiki menu labels? me and eromneg [23:39]
fabriciusjonnyb: if you allow, I give you three kisses: one on the left cheek, one on the right cheek and one on the forehead ... and a huge hug [23:40]
luciashbrb [23:40]
fabriciusthx luciash
I love this community ... like a second family ... very cool that I have the chance to work with you all
[23:40]
RobertPlummerlphuberdeau: Why is the lookup different from that of http?
lphuberdeau: No tiki-setup.php?
[23:42]
fabriciusso anybody knows, what's the situation with external links and target in menus? is wikiparse meant to sort this out? [23:43]
lphuberdeaunormally they are called unit tests for a reason, it's normal to stub out some parts that are not relevant to the test and reduce dependencies [23:43]
jonnybthanks fabricius :) [23:44]
luciash:) [23:46]
Jyhem_laptopIs lib/smarty/libs/sysplugins/smarty_security.php a file of ours ??? Or an external? [23:46]
luciashour is in smarty_tiki (should be)
fabricius: not really, next step i think. although you could do it maybe with some complicated wiki syntax hacking as we discussed with jonny earlier
[23:47]
eromnegHi everyone [23:49]
jonnybhi eromneg [23:49]
luciashhi eromneg [23:49]
jonnybready for branch? [23:50]
fabriciusluciash: I am pretty sure, that it simply will work - even if I would have to workaround and make a systempage for external links
wikiparsed menuitems and includeplugin with systempages ROCKS!!!
[23:50]
eromnegfabricius: to add a title tag to a menu use a DIV plugin with a (new) title parameter like this:
{DIV(title="title tag text")}menu link text{DIV}
[23:51]
fabriciusthx eromneg [23:52]
eromnegI guess I should document that somewhere along with some other menu wiki parsing examples [23:52]
luciashbtw DIV in A is maybe illegal too, maybe in HTML5 it is allowed but... span would be better :) [23:53]
fabriciuseromneg: I am thinking about a good name for a set of pages in doc.t.o related to the use of systempages, includeplugin, wikiparsed menuitems and custommodules [23:53]
luciashjust saying ;) [23:53]
Bsfez1i say GO ! [23:53]
fabriciuseromneg: it is a cooool playground [23:53]
Tiki-KGBtikiwiki 03jonnybradley r43595 10branches/9.x/templates/tiki-user_cssmenu.tpl
tikiwiki [bp/r43594][FIX] menus: Make menus_item_names_raw work with sefurl so it doesn't encode menu urls (had to reformat slightly to expose logic)
tikiwiki Thanks luciash (& apologies)
[23:54]
luciashBsfez1: ouch, that is harsh
:)
[23:54]
fabriciusBsfez1, jonnyb please go ahead [23:54]
Jyhem_laptopI just broke http://demo.tiki.org/9x/ ! [23:54]
luciashjonnyb: thanks a lot ! now i can peacefully upgrade ! :) [23:54]
jonnybluciash: fix now in 9.x but not very tested, could you have a look pls? (i have an svn copy to do) [23:55]
fabriciushow Jyhem_laptop ? [23:55]
Jyhem_laptophttp://demo.tiki.org/9x/tiki-list_users.php [23:55]
luciashjonnyb: sure [23:55]
Jyhem_laptopBy selecting a country for admin, then going to http://demo.tiki.org/9x/tiki-list_users.php
well, before that I activated all kinds of social features so tiki-list_users.php is available
Shall I try that on demo.to/10 ?
[23:55]
fabriciussure, try andbugreport ;-9 [23:57]
Jyhem_laptopWell, it's not really broken. That page is [23:57]
jonnybjonnyb branches
jonnyb then realises he should have rebooted 7 year old laptop first!
