EO_: or just disable the approval process? it's annoying when diddling with HTML/CSS.
Jyhem_laptop: EO_: /tiki-plugins.php
to batch-approve them
I'm not aware of auto-approval
EO_: the batch thing doesn't help incremental CSS diddling

^^^ look at the bottom circuit
Chrome, FireFox and IE all render it differently
-: EO_ is hating HTML right now
EO_: It's 2012 and the web still can't render text in a consistent way.
haha safari is different too!
and Opera has its own take on it too. Heh. I'd be laughing if I didn't have work to get done.

-: marclaporte feels EO_'s pain, but remembers IE6
EO_: a-ha!
I think there is salvation in this insanity
http://www.howtoplaza.com/how-to-use-custom-fonts-on-your-website-with-css
I can slap a single agreed upon ttf file on my web server and serve the fonts along with the HTML
that way there should be no rendering disparity
load times go up, but at least I can stop tearing my hair out. and local caching should speed things up.
Where can you change the contents of <head><style> ... in tiki?
I need to link to these fonts
nm! :)
marclaporte: http://doc.tiki.org/Google+Web+Fonts
EO_: ha! my external import worked!
sadly the DejaVu font I used renders incorrectly
but this is progress
marclaporte: not bad.
Ubuntu Mono sounds promising. I think Ubuntu put a ton of work into their fonts in the last few years.
marclaporte: paste some unicode into that google web font selector. you'll see it turns all those fonts into XXXXXXX

tikiwiki [ENH] minor code cleanup
EO_: hrm I guess if a TTF doesn't have a glyph definition there's some fallback mechanism?
my resistors are still inconsistently rendered
is there some REFERENCE unicode TTF?
-: EO_ doesn't even care if it's ugly
EO_: (as long as it's monospace)

EO_: marclaporte: just posted to FontForge mailing list. I think it's their bug that caused all this breakage with Unifont.
and arg, I think their mailing list is greylisting me or blacklisting me.
-: EO_ crosses fingers for greylisting.

in tw6.8, if i upload a image to the gile gallery and display it on a wiki page e.g. {img fileId=7}, it shows fine. Then if I 'upload new version' of the same file, should the new version not show on the wiki page? Well, it does not, even after I clear the cache. What am I doing wrong?
marclaporte: deeku: there is an option somewhere that when we update a file, the number doesn't change
EO_: marclaporte: http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_id=30055061
marclaporte: Also, in http://doc.tiki.org/PluginFile, there is a way to set the date

thanks for the pointers
though it is logical for the img plugin to display the latest version of the file assigned to a particular image ID, for those who use this feature...
image ID / file ID
anyway...
