BsfezHi Rick
Jonny
We got some more issues on Tiki10… We need to find a way to mobilise dev so we can solve.
ricks99: fyi, Robert suggest me to use {SLIDER()}… unfortunately there are some compatibilities issues (no good on IE, Opera and Safari)
So i'm still with carousel. :)
[14:38]
ricks99Bsfez: i use carousel all the time [14:41]
Bsfezi though i could have better perf.
yes Carousel is working fine with most of the browser (sometimes page need to be refreshed on Opera Mac)
[14:42]
ricks99y. make sure the page is set to no cache [14:46]
BsfezI changed the default carousel button and it make it really nice.
no cache can be done on a per page basis ?

RobertPlummerpolom all
Got some info on the aloha editor on how to ensure we keep the data attributes we need.
I'm thinking about just overriding the sanitizer all together, since it is a very controlled output. What do you guys think?
Bsfez: Did you get slider working?
Bsfez: It is sort of an odd beast, but is very cool after you get it going.
[15:05]
Tiki|botjoined #tikiwiki [15:19]
BsfezRobertPlummer: Hi Robert, yes but i sent you an email about compatibility… In fact SLIDER is ok only with FF and Chrome.
Torsten report that on his Ubuntu FF and chrome are no go.
[15:22]
RobertPlummerIt seems to work fine here in firefox and chrome in ubuntu [15:25]
Bsfezcan't say more Torsten reported… But from my test with Safari Mac and IE9 Windows it is not working properly.
check you email i give details :)

RobertPlummerjonnyb: Sure they don't have ssh + svn? [18:41]
jonnybbeen looking but can't find it... [18:41]
RobertPlummerjonnyb: A little more detail with the aloha editor... Found a way to overcome the removal of certain elements it seems, and the ability to keep data-t intact. Next is inserting items from toolbar with data-t and overriding pressing enter to insert <br data-t="ln"/>
After I get past those issues, I'll have toolbar integration, and then save. We are looking good.
[18:42]
jonnybcoo [18:43]
RobertPlummerjonnyb: phpunit was not running all the tests I had setup for the jison parser, and I just got it fixed, so committing and back to work on the wysiwyg. [18:46]
jonnybcan't really imagine aloha editor on a tiki, should be interesting! :) [18:47]
RobertPlummerjonnyb: I love how hard phpstorm works for me.
jonnyb: Yea, I agree, it is a big change.

[18:48]
RobertPlummerjonnyb: But unfortunately, we are sort of limited for options, do you agree? [18:48]
jonnyboptions? how do you mean? [18:48]
RobertPlummerI can't believe how bad ckeditor is written first off, and it seems the internet standard.
jwysiwyg is extremely buggy
I don't see any other big contenders for wysiwyg. Even the guys at media wiki tried aloha and like it.
They are formulating their own, but have nothing working yet, so no go there.
[18:48]
jonnybdid you re-look at tinymce? [18:49]
RobertPlummerGet this, theirs is a hybrid syntax editor..... quasiwyg ;)
shall I?
I shall
I really don't care which we go with so long as it works.
is it very similar to ckeditor's toolbar in terms of adding attributes etc.?
jonnyb: Looks like they don't recognize contenteditable="false" which is important for plugins.
[18:50]
jonnybis what, tinymce? never looked that closely into it
contenteditable is a cue thing i think
cue/cke (grrr)
[18:55]
RobertPlummerjonnyb: That is a pretty important thing. With it we don't have to teach the parser how to deal with plugins. contenteditable=false makes plugin integration a breeze. [18:57]
jonnybcreditor still wouldn't treat contenteditable as one "opaque" element ever though
making drag&drop a bit messy somethings :)
[18:58]
RobertPlummerhttp://html5doctor.com/the-contenteditable-attribute/
Why does it need to be opaque? I just set it to false and set the body to "Plugin:$pluginName"
data-syntax="urlencode($this->syntax())" ;)
Drag and drop work fine like this
[18:58]
jonnybyou can cursor into the middle of a plugin and add text and stuff - it all goes quite wrong after that [19:00]
RobertPlummerWe could just inject a little css at the top that opaques the plugin element [19:00]
jonnybi mean opaque in terms of editability [19:00]
RobertPlummerMyn doesn't, I've tested it over and over. Even in ckeditor. [19:00]
marclaportejoined #tikiwiki [19:01]
RobertPlummerYou mean that the body renders?
I don't render it, I just have the simple text "plugin:$pluginName"
[19:01]
jonnybeven for images? :( [19:01]
RobertPlummer"plugin[:]$pluginName"
At this time, yes.
so an element inside something with contenteditable=false that has something inside it is editable if it doesn't have the same attribute set to false?
jonnyb: Stability trumps functionality, I believe you've taught me this, no?
[19:02]
jonnybthink i tried setting contenteditable=false on everything in them [19:04]
RobertPlummerpolom marclaporte
But you can still drag and drop internals, ah I see your problem.
What about onmousedown="return false"?
[19:04]
jonnybmaybe it's only me that's tried that but it's always annoyed me [19:05]
RobertPlummerI was getting ready to ask if you had or not. [19:05]
jonnybprobably tried that too, was a long time ago - in the end i try to work up the DOM to the containing plugin element and select all of it
which works a bit
[19:05]
RobertPlummerSee how aloha editor handles this....
jonnyb: Success! with 1 nested element it seems fine

RobertPlummerarildb: In general. I'm looking deeply into how ckeditor renders the html editing process, and it is just plain horrible.
arildb: There is no way to get a reliable in-out wiki -> html -> wiki
arildb: So I'm looking at aloha editor to see what it's capabilities are.
[19:52]
arildbRobertPlummer: I was impressed my the aloha editor
RobertPlummer: as far as I could see the aloha editor does not seem to be fit for wiki page structure development. Only post editing. So we will need a separate HTML editor, I believe.
