kstingel: writing more inclusive doc.to articles :)
original plan was to use it for a gaming alliance ... but then I got into playing Tiki and stopped playing the game lol
marclaporte: hehe, I know the feeling
A bit what happened to me..
kstingel: what constitutes a "TikiFest"?
... how many ppl need to attend?
I'm arranging one in Brisbane :) .... daughter and I meeting to discuss Tiki's "droopy moustache" problem ... she's the web-design wiz in the family
... although, at present she's using the wrong platform (nothing specific) lol ... I offered to give her Tiki for Xmas biggrin
marclaporte: need two people
that don't usually meet

Guest11597: hello
luciash: ravi_: hello, could it be low php memory_limit ?
Guest11597: i want login using ldap so plz give forum
ravi_: all page work fine except this problem
luciash: is your memory_limit >= 128 M ?
ravi_: and php memory limit is 1024m
luciash: ok, then it must be something else... any error in error log ?
(please keep in mind that i am not familiar with LDAP)
just trying to help with pinpointing the problem
-: gour considers that LDAP is extremely anti-human
luciash: lol, got the same feeling ;)
gour: something like using XML to write content :-)
luciash: gour: btw, any response to polom is appropriate ;) it is just someting like "hey, i am entering the place !" to let everyone know :)
gour: luciash: ok. thanks
luciash: we just like to echo it back in some fancy way to have fun
gour: good, good...nice mode is welcome here
luciash: s/mode/mood/ ?
gour: ahh...right
well, one can change mode to get into right mood ;)
luciash: :)
ravi_: no error
but whole page became blank
when try to remove user using check box and then select action from below drop down its working but when click on logo of delete whole page became blank
luciash: ravi_: u need to look in /var/log/error.log or /var/log/php/errors or something like that
ravi_: ok.....check it
luciash: ravi_: or enable "Show all errors" on Admin > General
(not exact phrase)
it is not critical then if it works using check box and select action from dropdown ;)

arildb: RobertPlummer: sounds good

ricks99 xcited to see aloha
gour thinks ricks99 should be locked in a small room (without internet) writing his books instead of wasting time on irc :-D
ricks99: lol
-: gour is wastingtime on irc instead of wasting money - thereby saving to buy ricks99 books
ricks99 thinks gour should b helping to translate the books :)
gour: will do...will do...priorities...i had problem making tiki even work on my hosting
ricks99: actually, i'm almost ready to hand off to editor for review over the holidays. i *really* hope to have them published before end of january
arildb: jonnyb: I am trying to test the author registration with the jcapture file in Tiki 10, but jcapture fails to load...so, I am not able to test it :-( does it work at your end?
-: gour wonders from when is january last months in a year
gour: *month
:-)
jonnyb: hi arildb, yes, was working on my local when i did the fix - not tried it elsewhere - have you tried on demo.t.o?
ricks99: :)
arildb: jonnyb: let me try
-: gour wishes good luck to ricks99 to finsih & provide quality content!
gour wishes to himself less typing errors as well
arildb: jonnyb: works ok on demo
jonnyb: arildb: thanks - annoyingly it wasn't working on dev.t.o for some reason, never worked out why

RobertPlummer: ok guys when I go to create the new branch I get "Can't open file '/svn/p/tikiwiki/code/db/txn-current-lock': Permission denied" on 3 machines, what gives?
jonnyb: ^
code: svn copy https://svn.code.sf.net/p/tikiwiki/code/trunk https://svn.code.sf.net/p/tikiwiki/code/branches/aloha-editor -m "[NEW] Branching for custom work with aloha"
jonnyb: why not use the script in devtools?
RobertPlummer: I was not aware of the script
jonnyb: you read this right? http://dev.tiki.org/SVN+Tips#Experimental_branches
rinnan: left #tikiwiki
jonnyb: the repo move might have broken something - changi|away had to fix something to get the branch update script to work again
RobertPlummer: I see it now, I went to the experimental branch page
The link to the page above was at very bottom
A.D.D. strikes again!
jonnyb: ah, close! :)

gour: RobertPlummer: use DVCS and branch as much as you like ;)
RobertPlummer: jonnyb: svn: A problem occurred; see other errors for details
Branch could not be created.
gour: RobertPlummer: price? very cheap :-)
RobertPlummer: jonnyb: svn: Can't open file '/svn/p/tikiwiki/code/db/txn-current-lock': Permission denied
same problem
That folder/file does not exist on any of my machines, why would it be referencing it?
Could it be on the server?
gour: Interested, but I'm really on a tight schedule for getting this thing branched and managed.
gour: If I branch and then merge back into trunk on svn, will there be problems?
-: gour thinks it's time that Tiki moves to DVCS
jonnyb: RobertPlummer: sounds like a setup thing - one for changi|away when he's not away i guess
gour: RobertPlummer: afaik, branching & merging is pain with non-DVCS by 'default'
jonnyb: by the way, you are going to make your branch inside branches/experimental aren't you? :)
RobertPlummer: jonnyb: I've tried on 2 linux (centos and ubuntu) and 1 windows and all point to that directory, smells like server problem.
gour: that's pain when you have to depend on central server
RobertPlummer: jonnyb: "php doc/devtools/svnbranch.php branches/experimental/aloha-editor"
(that was the command I executed)
jonnyb: i'm just saying it should go in branches/experimental/aloha-editor not branches/aloha-editor (once you get it working)
RobertPlummer: yes yes, fine
jonnyb: :)
RobertPlummer: I could have git cloned and been done an hour ago
gour: indeed
jonnyb: why not try that then?
RobertPlummer: jonnyb: Not up to date

gour: RobertPlummer: which debian?

gour: it's in the repoa

RobertPlummer: gour: It has to be public and it has to be merge-able.

gour: RobertPlummer: no, changi|away did it...tiki svn repo was 40G and i have wifi connection here (512/4M)...too slow
RobertPlummer: *installed fossil 1.21*
gour: ok. it's not the latest, but it does not matter
dabright1: joined #tikiwiki
RobertPlummer: gour: So we don't know where the repo is?
gour: RobertPlummer: nope...but you can quickly clone 10.x branch or so

trunk

alzoo: hi everyone!
a few weeks ago, I was having trouble with ldap authentication for a tiki-wiki site....
it was when I tried to enable ldap athentication that I was no longer able to login with any account inc. admin...
dabright: joined #tikiwiki
RobertPlummer: alzoo: Have you checked the logs?
in both tiki and your server?
ricks99: Argh: Trying to use a pretty registration template tracker. Getting error: <input type="hidden" name="captcha[id]" id="captchaId" value=" Fatal error: Call to a member function generate() on a non-object
any ideas?
alzoo: anyway. what was happening was the tiki login process I assume was working (as if you gave an incorrect passwd it stated that), but there were no pages available
I did, but not to a great extent...
jonnyb: ricks99: try some different captcha settings?
alzoo: anyway I found what the problem was.. and was wondering if it is know problem or should I log it as a bug..
ricks99: frack: i had captcha disabled globally
thanks jonnyb
RobertPlummer: alzoo: What are the folder called where a user may reside in ldap?
dabright: joined #tikiwiki
alzoo: it was due to insatll the php-ldap module which is required for ldap authentication
RobertPlummer: alzoo: So you got it working?
alzoo: yes...
RobertPlummer: alzoo: We would love you to document that!
alzoo: RobertPlummer, sure thing!
after installing the php-ldap module, I think it chnages the group permission of /var/lib/php/session to root
I don't know what that means or what it does but it stops tiki from displaying the wiki pages eventhough you are logged in...
even if I installed php-ldap module first and then installed a tiki (9.2), the problem occured..., I could not get past step 5 in the install process of the tiki-install.php, it kept asking me to login..
dabright1: joined #tikiwiki
alzoo: the good news it it gave me an error...
Warning: Unknown: open(/var/lib/php/session/sess_19groflcvdn8n0givaq3l06882, O_RDWR) failed: Permission denied (13) in Unknown on line 0 Warning: Unknown: Failed to write session data (files). Please verify that the current setting of session.save_path is correct (/var/lib/php/session) in Unknown on line 0
I compared this to a tiki which I had not installed php-ldap module...
Is this a bug or something just specific to my LAMP install on CentOS 6?

Jyhem: is it just me or does "svn up" now require authentication since the Allura move ?
marclaporte: maybe for https version?
Jyhem: well, yes, I use the https version, but so did I before. svn up did not require authentication
That might annoy people who have an automated svn up and still don't want to store their password in clear
marclaporte: I prefer the previous behavior as well

I like to have simple "svn up"
so I can ask s.b. else to svn up without giving my password
