alzoo: I have a quick question on ldap external group configuration. is this used to populate groups in the tiki or to define which members of a ldap group can login?

rinnan: I've been fiddling with pluginmono and plugincode but whatever I try there seems to be no way to display code in a box using å monospaced font.
anyone got an idea what I'm not seeing?
dabright: joined #tikiwiki
rinnan: I did manage to use pluginmono in an old fashioned ^-style box, but then I lose the indentation and syntax-highlighting

alzoo: dones anyone know then if I can filter logins by ldap group?
luciash: alzoo: no ldap knowledge here, sorry
rinnan: it is by the CSS - it sets the syntax highlighter font to sans-serif instead of monospace, u need to override it or switch off the CodeMirror syntax highlighter
rinnan: luciash: ah, excellent: I'll look into it right away. Thanks!
luciash: rinnan: there is theme in upcoming Tiki 10 which sets it to monospace by default - gradiant.css
rinnan: luciash: I'll investigate that option as well. Got a bit confused by the docs claiming plugincode uses monospaced font by default
luciash: rinnan: in fact it does but it is overriden by the syntax highlighter
rinnan: and thats where my confusion really kicked in ;) I'll hunt down that CSS now

gour: strange. i get POST entity too large for upload of 100KB file and tiki reports "Maximum file size is around: 81 MB" (setting is 100M)
arildb: gour: there are many settings that determine the max size. On IIS the setting is not picked up. It may be similar with other non-Apache servers

gour: arildb: thanks. will investigate....
RobertPlummer: gour, I was thinking, I wouldn't mind using fossil, but we would need trunk and need to merge to svn from fossil and to fossil from svn, is that possible?
arildb: Will be committing aloha editor shortly, branch already exists
gour: RobertPlummer: probably not feasible for continuous merging, but for occasional it should work...you can export from fossil to git and then using git-svn as (best) svn client
RobertPlummer: gour, would it take a lot of development to find a way to do so?
gour: Because I know they have achieved it with git.
github accepts both svn and git commits to the same repository, although that isn't really the same.
gour: Or does fossil accept svn commits?
gour: That'd be pretty cool
gour: RobertPlummer: fossil --> git is simple - see http://fossil-scm.org/index.html/doc/trunk/www/inout.wiki
no, fossil does not have anything with svn, even with git 'cause it has quite different model
RobertPlummer: So can git and fossil merge freely?
Jyhem_laptop, Jyhem: you around?
kstingel: Did you ever get anywhere with jison development?
gour: RobertPlummer: for the other part see - http://maymay.net/blog/2009/02/24/how-to-use-git-svn-as-the-only-subversion-client-youll-need/
RobertPlummer: ricks99: You around?
gour: RobertPlummer: i believe that 2-way sync between fossil & git is not for everyday...the best is to migrate from svn altogether ;)
RobertPlummer: gour: Are there any plans for this functionality to be created?
gour: I think it would aid to the acceptance if that did work.
gour: RobertPlummer: to move away from svn? there is some inititiative...the best is to report your (frustration) problems with svn to marclaporte ;)
-: gour also believe tiki deserves better
Jyhem: RobertPlummer: yes, but in a meeting
RobertPlummer: gour: Believe me, I have. I am one of the advocates wanting it most. I wanted git + github due to ease of adding committers, but there is overhead.
gour: RobertPlummer: have you tried fossil privately?
RobertPlummer: gour: No, I haven't had time.
gour: RobertPlummer: it really "saves developer's brain cycles"...much easier/safer than git...have you read my post how tcl/tk moved to it?
rodrigoprimo: joined #tikiwiki
RobertPlummer: No I did. It is just a big move is all.
We would need trunk and the ability to merge to svn.
and from fossil to svn. If we had this, then there would be reason to migrate as it would be an adjustable learning curve.
Also mentioned was externals, did we ever discover a way to do that in fossil?
Tiki-KGB: tikiwiki 03robertplummer r44297 04branches/experimental/aloha-editor/trunk
tikiwiki [REM] Duplicate trunk
gour: RobertPlummer: learning curve for fossil is almost nil...even the command (sub)set is quite similar to svn
as far as externals, i only know that fossil includes sqlite sources in its repo and regularly merges new ones
RobertPlummer: gour: That is good. How hard would it be to manage merging to and from fossil/svn?
gour: Tcl/Tk is big project which moved and it could be worthy to ask them...when i asked in IRC, I got reply from 'em that "we do not want to host anything critical on SF", so that maybe different idea than keeping SF on Allura
RobertPlummer: i cannot say 'cause svn has/keeps metadata differently...maybe the better option would be to use svn <--> git and then regularly import into fossil
firebug shows that PSOT request for uploading ~80kb file is ~300kb in size and i believe that the server does not allow such big request. why such an overhead?
is there any option to (S)FTP gallery files to the server and then catch 'em directly from the server?
jonnyb: joined #tikiwiki

gour: ricks99: thank you
ricks99: youre welcome
gour: that's podcasts dir, i thought it's for something else
ricks99: ?
can use any directory/ftp location
nothing to do with podcast
see docs for details: http://doc.tiki.org/Batch+Upload
gour: option says: Podcast directory: isn't it a bit misleading?
ahh, then it's something else

RobertPlummer: I did a little testnig ...
I am able to load the Aloha Editor, including writing text in it. (Enabled wysiwyg only, i.e. not optional)
It is not possible to save a new wiki page
existing page (no plugins ... pure text) loads ok in Aloha
when attempting to save a page, I get a blank screen. The changes have not been saved
being able to save wiki page changes is kind of crucial to do other testng
I am testing on Windows7, IIS7 using FF
The properties tab, when editing is missing, but is not important right now.
The aloha editor is activated by pressing edit page.

arildb: RobertPlummer: Alohas ability to edit without a context switch (as seen on their test pages) is great, I think.
Pressing the "edit button" cuases a context switch. Would a general "wiki edit-mode" at user level be better?
Then the user would remain in edit mode for all visited wiki pages, until "edit mode" is closed.
That would eliminate the edit context switch
How to specify categories + properties for a wiki page must then be solved

RobertPlummer: arildb: Explain at use level.
arildb: RobertPlummer: User level = there is a system "switch" (per session) which holds the "edit-mode". When it's active, all wiki pages are automatically in edit mode (thus no switch to an editor context)
instead of switching to an editor context
This is one of the great things on their demos, in my opinion.
RobertPlummer: can such an in-context edit mode be implemented in Tiki?

RobertPlummer: arildb: I think that would be a great addition. And realistically could be implemented with little overhead even now.
arildb: Where we need to most help is going to be in aloha-editor plugins.
arildb: RobertPlummer: that sounds great
RobertPlummer: arildb: You're telling me, I love the thing.
arildb: RobertPlummer: plugins, ok. What are they, and what is needed?
RobertPlummer: arildb: An aloha-editor plugin would provide some sort of implementation between aloha-editor and tiki
arildb: RobertPlummer: such as saving pages?
RobertPlummer: arildb: We are basically at scratch right now with them. I can think of a number of them that would either need an event that exposes what was inserted or modified, or something that edits wiki plugins.
arildb: Not so much, that can be done in a few lines of code, just been busy today with unexpected meetings and the release of 10.
