Salut Jyhem :)
Hello everybody, and happy new year
Question about plugins : I want to enable tracker. I go to "editing and plugins" / "plugins" and i look for Tracker. I found a "tracker" wich is enable. And a text saying "you must set Trackers" (trackerS).
this text send me to a page "tiki-admin.php?lm_criteria=Trackers" which i just don't understand :-(
So what this "you need to set" means ?
Jyhem_laptop: joined #tikiwiki
Emenems: Ok, so i did like this : on the preference page, i changed the "Preference Filters" to tick basic and advanced. Then i see the greyed button for TrackerS, then i can click it and activate it.
I still don't understand is i made this right
rinnan: Emenems: From my experience that ought to do it

gour: if i'd asked to justify using tiki for our non-profit org, is there anything possibly missing in tiki in comparison with bigger or more famous players like drupal/typo3/WP/joomla/etc. ?

marclaporte: gour: there is not much missing in Tiki, but there are places where other apps are stronger
ex.: Joomla! is better at commerce and Tiki is better at Collaboration
gour: If something was missing, we have pretty much demonstrated that it can be added :-)

gour: marclaporte: :-)
marclaporte: gour: I think the number of new features will slow down a bit though
It will be more about extending what is there and tighter integration
ex.: we have Tiki Accounting and Tiki Shopping Cart and Tiki Credits (currency/points) but these three deserve to have tight integration, which is not the case today
Exciting times ahead :-)

ricks99: anyone awake? im using JQ + trackerfilter to dynamic show/hide selection fields...
although the field name use name="foo" so I can show/hide it,
the <label> element does not. :(
any idea how to show/hide the label & the field?
luciash: ricks99: count the order of labels and use $('label:eq(X)')
see eq selector at api.jquery.com
ricks99: hm... but then it is hardcoded -- if ic hange the display order of the items, I'll need to update the jq
luciash: yes
ricks99: but.... you provided a great resource! i think i can use .parent to grab the eclosing tr
.parents !!!! thx luciash

hi, I'm trying to upload a file but I always get the message: Cannot write to this file:
i'm using tiki 10 and had already set the permission 777 to folder and 644 to files
ricks99: @pedor: you're storing files in the direcotry, right? not the database?
are you using an absolute or relative path?
pedor: ricks99: yes, directory
rwik: joined #tikiwiki
hey all! Is there any reason one should not rename a page or set an alias for a page directly from the database?
pedor: relative is the same level of tiki, right?
ricks99: is the folder you're using at the same level as your Tiki installation?
Double/triple check that there isn't a typo
Also, did you include the trailing " / " ?
pedor: only after
ricks99: what tiki version are you using?
pedor: 10
ricks99: so, you defined your directory as: FOO/
pedor: public_html/folder/ tiki is at: public_html/tiki/
ricks99: and you've confimred that "foo" has perm 7-5-5
pedor: it's 755 not 777?
ricks99: ah.. so your "folder" is one level *above* tiki
../folder
755 is safer than 777
pedor: tiki is installed in a subdirectory
ricks99: public_html/tiki/tiki-install.php right?
pedor: yes
ricks99: and the folder you're using for uploads is in: public_html/tiki/FOO
pedor: no, public_html/imagens
ricks99: ok. it is one level above. You need to set: ../imagens/
pedor: same error
ricks99: did u clear trhe tiki cache
pedor: yes! it worked!
ricks99: remember to always clear tiki cache after making admin changes
pedor: thanks a lot :)
ricks99: you're welcome
pedor: i'm amazed with tiki. I'm using it as a pkm but I thinking of using it as a client web site
ricks99: you've seen the tiki-powered sites: http://info.tiki.org/Featured+Tikis
pedor: yes, i've seen. rick, it's possible to extend the contacts to create a simple crm?
ricks99: see http://dev.tiki.org/Customer+Relationship+Management
pedor: is it already done? I didn't understand
ricks99: not sure of status
pedor: hm. I could do something simple. I need to keep track of what each customer did (consulting, coach, course, etc), a workflow for selling or a status: proposal sent, prospect, waiting for analysis. can this be done?
ricks99: I'm sure you could build a tracker-based system
should send a query to the dev list
pedor: for a small business like me, it's almost everything you need from a crm
