[15:51] alexcriss What am I doing wrong_ [15:51] ricks99 sounds like perms are wrong on the forum. you have READ perm *only* fr the Exectitve group? [15:52] ricks99 what tiki version are you using? [15:52] alexcriss version is 9.4 [15:53] ricks99 and no other group has READ perm for the specific forum? [15:53] alexcriss tiki_p_forum_read is set only for exectuive and admin groups [15:53] alexcriss for that forum [15:54] ricks99 to confirm, neither anonymous nor register inherit the executive group, right? [15:54] alexcriss let me check [15:54] alexcriss though I think they do not [15:54] alexcriss no, it's the opposite [15:55] ricks99 are you using caegories? [15:55] alexcriss executives inherit from registered [15:55] alexcriss I think I have enabled the feature, but not used it yet [15:55] ricks99 confirm that there is no category-specific perm for the forum. they will override the global perms [15:56] alexcriss disabling it does not solve the problem [15:56] alexcriss OK, maybe I am doing the global permission wrong [15:57] alexcriss I have given a global read permission to registered [15:57] alexcriss and disabled it for that forum [15:57] alexcriss should I do the opposite? [15:57] ricks99 ah... you're doing it in reverse [15:57] ricks99 yes [15:57] alexcriss ah ok [15:57] alexcriss great [15:57] alexcriss I knew it was my fault [15:57] ricks99 sorry. didn't fully understand you at first [15:57] ricks99 no problem [15:57] alexcriss sorry for having wasted your time [15:57] ricks99 not at all :-) welcome to tiki [15:57] alexcriss and thanks a lot for your help [15:57] alexcriss :) [16:04] alexcriss ok, forum posts give an access denied now, though they still appear in the top visited section of anonymous users [16:04] jonnyb \ [16:04] jonnyb oops :) repolom [16:17] ricks99 joined #tikiwiki [16:43] LordVan joined #tikiwiki [16:43] LordVan joined #tikiwiki [16:56] alexcriss sorry to keep asking things, but I am still missing some points :( [16:57] alexcriss I removed the global forum access to anonymous, and gave them acces to a particular forum (the same applies to registered) [16:57] alexcriss but know if I go to tiki-forums.php I get a permission denied [16:58] alexcriss even though there is aforum in there that such users can see (and in fact they can see it if I reach it via its URL) [16:58] ricks99 think there's a "list forum" perm? [16:58] ricks99 might try to duplicate on the demo site [16:59] ricks99 http://demo.tiki.org [16:59] ricks99 not sure your specific issue. quite common configuration to have some forums only visible to specific groups [16:59] alexcriss I do not see the list forum perm [17:00] alexcriss I remember there is one for wiki (or article) [17:00] ricks99 you're using tiki 9LTS, right? [17:00] alexcriss yes [17:01] ricks99 one sec.. [17:02] alexcriss sure, thanks a lot! [17:03] ricks99 for gloabl perm, your Executive group has the read and post perms, right? [17:04] alexcriss yes [17:04] ricks99 and registered has nothing, right? [17:04] alexcriss exactly [17:05] ricks99 k. now go to check the specific forum... [17:05] alexcriss yup [17:06] ricks99 on the tiki-admin_forums page, click the PERMS icon (key) for the forum that you want to make accessible to registered group [17:06] ricks99 on the Assign perm to forum page, does it say "No direct perms yet applied to this object"? Or some other message? [17:07] alexcriss it says: [17:07] alexcriss This object's direct permissions override any global permissions or category permissions affecting this object. [17:07] alexcriss and there i have read forums enabled for anons and registered [17:08] ricks99 ok. you want them to have read-only, no post? [17:08] alexcriss yes [17:08] ricks99 and you're 100% there's no category applied to the forum? [17:08] alexcriss yes [17:08] ricks99 shoudl work. did you clear tiki caches? [17:09] alexcriss How can I do that? [17:09] ricks99 thre's a clear all caches button in the quick admin area. [17:09] alexcriss By the way, I think anons may see it, but not the tiki-forum.php pagem or at least that's my case [17:09] alexcriss oh ok :) [17:09] ricks99 or select Admin > Tiki cache from the main menu [17:10] alexcriss ok, permission denied on tiki-forums.php even after clearing the cache [17:11] ricks99 y, but anon should b able to link directly to the specific forum [17:11] alexcriss ah ok [17:11] alexcriss so there is no way to be able to see only that forum on the forum list? [17:12] ricks99 for that, they need the global perm, i believe [17:12] ricks99 might want to post to the supprot forum for a wider audeience [17:12] alexcriss ok, great, I'll do that [17:13] alexcriss seby the way, I also believe that the top visited module is doing it wrong [17:13] alexcriss since in this scenario it still shows posts from the exectuvie admin [17:13] alexcriss when I am logged out [17:13] alexcriss :) [17:13] ricks99 hmm... possible. if you can confirm on the demo site, start a bug report [17:13] alexcriss ok [17:14] alexcriss I'll work on that as well [17:14] alexcriss do you mind if I copy this conversation into the forum report [17:14] ricks99 not at all [17:14] alexcriss so that I can make the forum thing cleare to people? [17:15] alexcriss ok, thanks again for the very welcomed support [17:15] ricks99 no problem [17:47] fabricius joined #tikiwiki [19:58] manub joined #tikiwiki [20:26] fabricius joined #tikiwiki [21:31] danny-orion joined #tikiwiki [21:31] danny-orion Evening all- managed to get to the bottom of the trouble with banners yesterday. [21:32] danny-orion Orionrobots had a bloated users table - from spam registrations [21:32] danny-orion This was the thing that bugged me enough to upgrade anyway - but even after the upgrade, I'd not scraped off all the spam registrations. [21:33] danny-orion So the banners edit page was trying to load all the users in a single hit, into a single control - this was 20k+ before I did that. [21:34] danny-orion I cleaning of the table - deleted all but the last few users - may have deleted some genuine users too - means that the page worked - however, and here is the kicker - adsense didn't work in there because it was adding a in the script tags. [21:35] danny-orion So the end result was that I used a module, and using the literal tag to surround the brackets. [22:17] dhazel joined #tikiwiki [22:27] pedor joined #tikiwiki [22:31] pedor hi, I'm having some problem with articles and html. When I view the article in the editor and in preview it renders the html. But when I save it only shows html code and text [22:31] luciash hi pedor, it is what version of Tiki ? [22:32] pedor 10.1 [22:32] luciash pedor: might be a bug, can you see if you have checked box "use html" ? [22:33] pedor there is no checkbox "use html" when I'm using ckeditor [22:33] pedor if I change to wiki editor it shows the buttom [22:33] luciash ah [22:34] luciash i fear wysiwyg was not extensively tested in articles feature [22:35] luciash seems to work on demo site though [22:36] luciash ah, nope, it as you said [22:37] pedor hm, I'll change wysiwyg from default and leave the wiki editor for now [22:41] luciash i thought it was reported or fixed once already [22:41] luciash but aparently not in 10.x [22:42] pedor I see, any workaround? [22:42] dhazel joined #tikiwiki [22:43] pedor another thing, the email it was sent have only wiki syntax, it wasn't parsed [22:44] luciash pedor: i fear not other than editing the tpl file [22:44] pedor tpl from email? [22:44] luciash another thing, hmm... [22:44] luciash what email [22:45] luciash notification of change on watches ? [22:45] pedor when I published the article an email was sent [22:45] luciash tpl from article editing [22:45] pedor I think it has a option for sent a email when you published it [22:45] luciash ah, do not know that [23:01] pedor I was going to use wordpress to manage a partneship between me and another consultant. but I would have to test a lot of puglins, try to make everything work toghether than pray that all plugins get an update, suffer with incompability and waist a lot of time trying to make a usable site. with tiki I only have to install and it's almost ready to go [23:05] manub left #tikiwiki [23:13] arildb joined #tikiwiki [23:22] PrezKennedy joined #tikiwiki
