[FIX]Usability fix: Show a section in Admin Rating also for forums and trackers indicating how to use Ratings there (according to that admin panel, it seemed as if it was not possible to rate content on those sections). Show also the permissions involved to use ratings in each Tiki section, to reduce the confusion for the tiki admin willing to set up simple rating system, since th
tikiwikie permission system to vote and view is not fully consistent right now (permissions related to trackers behave differently than the rest).

anyone know what the current state in tiki is of spam blocking? Why has not a honey-pot been used (that I could find)? lindonb: joined #tikiwiki fabricius: joined #tikiwiki Tiki-KGB: 03lindonb r49948 10branches/12.x/templates/tracker/add_field.tpl * trackers: link to field type tab and not just the admin trackers page TomJarvis: joined #tikiwiki
robertplummer: What do you mean by spam blocking, actual spam emails or spammers registering to post spam messages? robertplummer: On my site I get a lot of spam, and on one of my customers as well. I just wonder why honeypots have not been implemented.
TomJarvis: ^ TomJarvis: robertplummer: So you want to prevent spammers from registering? You could try a plugin I made, the code is in this email: http://sourceforge.net/p/tikiwiki/mailman/message/31075768/
robertplummer: I have also used ZB Block on some Tiki sites: http://www.spambotsecurity.com/ It also uses StopForumSpam (http://www.stopforumspam.com/) which my plugin uses. robertplummer: TomJarvis: After performing the post from sf.net, how has your traffic decreased? TomJarvis: I still get the traffic, once the robot knows of your site, it does not forget it, unfortunately. But I have added new sites since then and removed the two files they check for and the new sites are not getting hit by the robot. Most of my Tiki sites don't allow registration anyway. fabricius: joined #tikiwiki TomJarvis: The post from sf.net was just a tiki-dev email, they are also in the Tikiwiki-devel (mailman list mirror) forum, but with that one Tiki tries to parse the code and messes it up.
robertplummer: I guess I was wrong about the traffic, I just checked that sites access log and the number of tiki-register accesses has gone way down since January. Maybe the robot does eventually give up. robertplummer: TomJarvis: So, you have not tried a honey pot?
TomJarvis: Any reason why not? Hey everyone
I'm going to install a tikiwiki 12 and try to use my tikiwiki 10 database
Do you foresee any problems with this? arildb: PenguinMan98: Should be ok, but always best to take backups first. After the new files are installed, remember to go to the admin panel and upgrade your database PenguinMan98: I'm having an issue where the server says smarty cant' write to the template directory. I'm on centos 6. Any ideas? TomJarvis: PenguinMan98: So you moved off of your home computer. Did you run the setup.sh ? PenguinMan98: no. I copied the site up to the new server as it was
Now I'm deleting it to clean out that old tiki 10 TomJarvis: PenguinMan98: Do you have shell access? PenguinMan98: I figure as long as I'm starting over, I may as well fix it
Yes, I do TomJarvis: PenguinMan98: Running the setup.sh should fix permissions on the folders PenguinMan98: arrite. I'll give it a check
do I need all the language folders?
Or just EN? TomJarvis: PenguinMan98: If you don't let your users use any other languages, you can delete the other language folders. PenguinMan98: I haven't had demand for anything but english so far
After spending a week host shopping, I got a VPS from A2 hosting
oh, this is taking a long time to delete
tiki has entirely too many files
