gourJyhem: i'm migrating from my (buggy) reverse-proxy - shared hosting - to vps and be assured that r52330 is enough to make it work under properly setup reverse-proxy [18:21]

Do you think we should still make an additional option «Tiki is behind a Frontend-Proxy/Load-Balancer which rewrites ports.» for buggy reverse-proxys?
I mean, how many reverse-proxies are misconfigured out there, I wonder :-) 		[18:28]

i've tried with another shared-hosting (webfaction) and it worked ok
for 'normal' shared hosting it would not happen, for VPS-es it's not a problem, 		[18:32]

gouronly for semi-shared hosting which are not many there and this bugginess is rare
moreover, it's was present only in the combination of buggy reverse-proxy and hiawatha server since the latter is a bit more strict in detecting https connection
while with lighttpd it was working fine as well since it depends just on headers sent by nginx

gouri'm also going to get refund from the hosting considering how many problems i had and since i extended it for one year 10days ago :-)
after i do finish with migration - next step is to setup mail server - then i'm going to dive into tiki itself...finally :-)
btw, is it safe to assume that tiki is going to continue using smarty as template engine in order not to learn the wrong one? 		[18:38]
JyhemYes, I'd say it's safe. If we had wanted to change this, it would have happened in Tiki13, with the rest of the big-bang things [18:41]

JyhemAlso, i see no reason to drop smarty considering how much caching it does for us and how useful it is for power-users and designers who won't touch php
It gives them an amazing level of flexibility and customization 		[18:42]
gouri'm quite ignorant about situation in php dev-world, but is it some other popular templating engine besides it? i know there is no lack of those in the python world [18:45]
