Or Sam___ Oh, I got the right number of underbars the first time, looks like. | [13:11] |

chibaguy | Sam___, there's an action log feature (https://doc.tiki.org/Logs). | [15:23] |
..... (idle for 20mn) | ||
Sam___ | Yes, but can I set this to show activities on the home page? | [15:43] |
chibaguy | That'd have to be via a module or wikiplugin. I don't know the complete list of those, but you can check at doc.tiki.org. | [15:46] |
lindonb | agree, probably easiset to use a collection of plugins or modules
like on the what’s new tab on the doc home page: http://doc.tiki.org/Documentation#contentdochome-3 | [15:47] |
.... (idle for 15mn) | ||
Sam___ | This option seems to be there already, but it shows up in the wrong place. If you look in the home page of a tiki page, you'll see a small box stating "what's new since your last visit"
but this has to go to the homepage after login... not in that box | [16:03] |
lindonb | that’s a module - you just need to place it on your homepage instead of a side column if I understand what you’re looking for correctly. See this page for how: http://doc.tiki.org/Module+since_last_visit_new?structure=HomePage+Modules | [16:09] |
Sam___ | Thanks a lot! I'll try it! | [16:13] |
lindonb | good luck! | [16:13] |

Hello Jyhem - are you there? | [20:57] |
Sam___ | Hello. I have a website where there are 3 groups of users (call them g1, g2 and g3) meant to be bound by categories c1, c2 and c3. My problem is that even though I set the default category for a group (say g1) to be c1, a new wiki page will not be bound to any category. How can I fix it such that every user from the group g1 will have everything related to him assigned to category c1? | [20:58] |
wolfganga | You mean if a member of g1 creates a page, that page should be automatically assigned to c1? | [21:00] |
Sam___ | Yes, exactly. | [21:01] |
wolfganga | Jyhem - If you are there: I have some isses with the permission system. I debugged for 8+ hours and have an idea of how it works. My issue is: If i create a tracker and use a field of type "category" and give proper permissions, the permissions are not assiged and the trackeritem is saved without a category defined. I debugged through roughly 15+ functions and see where it fails - but i cannot actually fix it.
The permission stuff with factories, resolver, magic methods etc. is not easy to read / debug and there are ver few comments. So some help is apreciated. Sam: I see what you mean - You can try setting a default category in the user group setting. Still do not know wther this will work. | [21:04] |
Sam___ | Thanks for the suggestion, but I mentioned in my question that I set the default category and it doesn't work. Any other ideas? | [21:08] |
wolfganga | Can the user of g1 manually set that page to category c1? | [21:12] |
Sam___ | Only if he has access to multiple categories. Otherwise there must be a category. | [21:12] |
wolfganga | You can try give that group the permission to view a category. i.e tiki_p_view_category
and - you should set the group the the users default-group | [21:14] |
Sam___ | That group has only permission to that category
I don't undertand your second statement | [21:18] |
wolfganga | When you setup user, you can assign them to group(s). But you can also set a defualt group. | [21:20] |
Sam___ | II have only 3 groups being used. Should I create more? | [21:21] |
wolfganga | If you go to user management, click on assign groups, you can also set a default group.
No i mean you can assign one or more groups AND you can on top set a DEFAULT group for each user | [21:21] |
Sam___ | I did set default group, but that didn't help...
I forced wiki pages to have groups, and now users can't save pages anymore because they don't have access to groups sorry I mean they don't have access to view categories hello? | [21:25] |
wolfganga | I am sorry but i have no further idea - maybe someone else, being more fimilar with the permission system, can help. As a last resourt - try giveing permissions like: tiki_p_group_view or tiki_p_modify_object_categories | [21:29] |
Sam___ | This is so disappointing... thanks anyway... | [21:31] |
wolfganga | I understand you soo much. Its really a great piece of software, but .... ;-9 | [21:31] |

Sam___ | How can I let a user choose a category for a wiki page? It appears that users don't have this choice normally. The option tiki_p_view_category doesn't seem to do it. Please assist! | [22:36] |
Hello
? | [22:50] | |
lindonb | tiki_p_modify_object_categories and tiki_p_add_object | [22:55] |
Sam___ | Thanks, I'll check that.
It doesn't work, still! A user doesn't have access to categories with those enabled. I had to set those permissions from global. It works. Thanks. | [23:00] |
lindonb | yes, global permissions | [23:07] |
