haha Lukas (my older son) did install W10 a few days ago - did need ages.
he likes it so far, but he checked which of the nice features "call home" since he painfully accepted to need a microsoft account to run W8

he switched of only one bad home calling (tell MS where he is ... he does not want them to know his position) - only one of the many security "option" and no nice features anymore
so no more talking computer
no mor telling him how the weather is

I like the features from the ads ... yeah like that ... but for the price of being a transparent industry owned puppy, I just do not want a bit of it at all - not at all at all.

W10 seems to be Conveience Product, whilst the Gnu/Linux and BSD flavors are variations of Fresh Food. A bitmore time to prepare, need some basic knowledge, but healthy and tasty (usually).

hi fabricius. Of course I'll try to deactivate as much privacy intrusions as I can, but so far I like Windows 10 quite a bit.

I have a Theme problem I think. Using Theme:arcturus Option:geo any language that reads r2l like Arabic displays as a different theme in the logo module at the top. It displays as the the 'default' theme fivealive instead. Is that something that I can fix or is it an issue for the Theme designer?

hi cidoc-dswg - the arcturus themes were form tiki 2ish, so probably don't support RTL languages at all, sounds like a tough job to convert it i would have thought

i used to use geo on an old site, but when it was discontinued (before chibaguy re-added them as arcturus) i just switched to a different theme... (not much help i know, but it's quite a bit of work i tihnk)

Yep it is 12.4. I'm hearing that it wouldn't make any difference if I updated the version though. I need to choose a theme and check it in both language directions. Any shortcuts/guidance on theme selection, rather than grinding tjrough each one again?

yes, latest version is Tiki 14.0, but 12.4 is still supported to an extend as it's the Long Term Support version until 15.1
(or even longer actually)

14 is much nicer than 12, so i recommend that, but i'm not sure what the state of RTL is in it as yet (whatever it's like it's probably better than the arcturus themes)

Which prompts me to ask something else. How does tiki know which direction a language should be displayed in? Is that a setting I need to be conscious of when adding new languages?

there's a fairly crude check somewhere that i tihnk currently just checks if it's Hebrew or Arabic, probably easily extended
