I recommend to early test 14 or 15 with a copy of your database. you could set an http password to be able to hide from public, but still test the public website. There are major differences in respect of templates and stylesheet, due to the move to Bootstrap. So depending on the amount of your individual customisations, it might be

When you have understood the principle of LESS, SASS is working the same way and the differences are quite simple and limited ... SASS seems to have some extra options, but follows the same basic ideas
