oh thanks Tiki-KGB :)

[12:34]
By the way, do you think it would be effect to activate "request a passcode" and display the passcode at the site, like in the invitation to register, to thwart bots?
I'd like to do something that's kind of automatic so the client isn't bothered by requests.
[12:42]
jonnybwhere, sorry?
i think it's already enabled on tiki.org, no?
but fails if you have javascript disabled

ah right, i think there's anotehr option somewhere near it, to display the code via js?

I can have the passcode displayed.

What is the lastname of the first man on the moon : Amstrong
How much is 12 + 20 : 32
Which Empereur lost at Waterloo : Napoleon
What is the first name of Trump : Donald
only How much is 12 + 20 : 32 worked
however:
all worked like this:
What is the lastname of the first man on the moon : 10
How much is 12 + 20 : 32
Which Empereur lost at Waterloo : 20
What is the first name of Trump : 40
only numbers ?

the only tiny thing missing i spotted was that it's sometimes helpful to include the original commit number when you're backporting to an earlier branch, we usually use a format [bp/r12345]{FIX} blah blah
But not a biggie, just one of our funny conventions i guess ;) more here: https://dev.tiki.org/Merge+a+commit+from+trunk

amette_ is somehow constantly under the impression that community sites are running 15.x
Shouldn't they be switched to 15.x soon? Dogfood philosophy and release process or some such?!
[17:32]
jonnybi think most of those hits being recorded weren't observing the pref
yes, i tihnk it's just before the beta happens
so maybe not worth bothering backporting i guess?
[17:33]
amette_So... maybe just wait for that?! [17:33]
jonnybyup, ok [17:34]
amette_Yeah, probably... I wouldn't really mind, but 15.x LTS sounds like a good place for this kind of change.
alright, cool
[17:34]
jonnybi also have a question about elastic search installation, if you have a mo [17:34]
amette_Sure, go ahead. [17:34]
jonnybi have a client with an old slightly out of date centos/cpanel server (on centos 5 i think) and i'd like to switch him to using elastic but without killing (or replacing) his server, any suggestions?
php and mysql have been updated so generally it runs tiki 14/15 fine - we have about 10 tikis on it, all fairly low traffic
[17:35]
amette_You can get a new server, install elastic on it and use the rest-interface just as on localhost. Just make damn sure to firewall it and probably turn off scripting. [17:36]
redflojoined #tikiwiki [17:36]
jonnybwe looked at using hosted elastic, seems to be quite cheap if you don't need much of it - i don't think he really wants the ongoing expense of another server though [17:38]
amette_Well, I have never worked with hosted elastic, but if the price feels right for your customer, then there's not much that can go wrong, I suppose. It being hosted by the guys who develop it and all. [17:39]
jonnybamazon do it too - about 5¢ an hour upwards [17:39]
amette_Also, if the sites don't have much traffic, it should really be ok.. this being an issue even when self-hosted... [17:40]
jonnybso what about installing it on a virtual thing on that server - bad idea?
(if possible)
[17:40]
amette_... cause depending on how you use elasticsearch, it can be that you transfer a couple of MBs for every page view in Tiki. [17:40]
jonnybyes, some of the sites are pretty heavy on custom search and list plugins [17:42]
amette_Hmmm, if the server is big enough for that... I don't see any reason for why not.. except for maybe the fact that you will have to replace that server in pretty exactly one year from now (March 31, 2017 - CentOS 5 End-of-Life).
Which on the other hand also means that.. yeah, a virtual machine does make sense, cause you could move it over in one piece to your new hardware.
[17:42]
jonnybew, good point [17:43]
amette_If heavy on custom search and list plugin... then yes... better have it on localhost... (or use the plugins in a very smart way, though that's maybe not always possible). [17:43]
jonnyb:P [17:44]
amette_What you will need for elastic is RAM, lots and lots of RAM. So if the server has enough of that... worth a try. [17:44]
jonnybah, ok - i'll check that
as i said it's pretty old so maybe not so ram-full ;)
thanks
[17:45]
amette_yw, please keep me updated :) [17:45]
jonnybback to the stats thing, can you have a look at the stats table on doc and see how much stuff is getting written to it sometime? I tihnk a query like this would do it:

i use it but exclude all the files i'm not customising
ricks99: will check, ta
[18:15]
amette_I'm not sure, if or what exactly you said... that's why I'm asking! :D
well, yes, I agree with the amount of files being bad... but rsync does it and that's open source, so it's nothing esoteric.
Hmmm, yeah, I tried excluding... probably I will have to exclude waaaay more...
.. thanks, I'll give it another try!
[18:16]
jonnybgeenrally i set the tiki up using svn on the server, and then sftp the custom files, usually all inside themes these days, nice :) [18:18]

jonnybfunny how you can never get those bootstrap popovers to stay there when you want them to, but they never go away properly when you don't!
ricks99: ok, it's a standard bootstrap popover, the structure is shown in the template option here: http://getbootstrap.com/javascript/#popovers-options
[18:19]
ricks99hm.. .i'll look further.. tyring to figure how to format the text strings better .thnx [18:23]
jonnybso you could do a css like: #page_1 .popover .popover-title {color:red;} #page_1 .popover .popover-content {color:green;} [18:23]

amette_Hmm, ok, I currently maintain my little patch (the itemId thingy I didn't want to backport in the end, but now I need it in 15.x after all) directly via command line on the server, having the server configured to use svn up... it's ok, but feels fragile and not very... uhm, integrated, let's call it.
I figured that the PHPStorm integration might be nice in this case. But then I would need a dedicated project on my localhost, too... seems like a waste of resources. So maybe not the right solution either.

[ENH] Added the option to specify an object/type rather than forcing the currentobject().

amette_Thinking about workflows for bigger projects, this is actually not a useful way to work either (think multiple developers, etc.)... so I am wondering, if I should just get out the big cannon and create a full blown CI/CD-Workflow based on git and use it for this single patch.
Sounds like overkill, but seeing where Tiki is going... it's not wasted work at all and will save me shitloads of time and nerves in the long run.
btw, I updated https://dev.tiki.org/What+ToDo+When+Migrating+To+Git with links to popular git workflow models - some good reads for a foggy London afternoon. ;)

amette_(I know that the first "Useful link" to atlassian wraps them all up very well, but it's nice to have the sources.) [18:34]
jonnybsounds good amette_ but i need to get some other stuff done (a horrible custom backport to 12.x ;) ) [18:35]
amette_No problem, I suppose there will be other foggy afternoons in London! *G* [18:36]

[FIX] tour plugin: Several fixes combined to address wish5791
1 Show once should be fixed, but also now allows starting from a button.
2 not done, a ccss thing? (on div.popover.tour-tour)
3 start=n now observed
4: yes :)
Also:
Changed the mix of y/n and 1/0 switches to all use y/n [MOD],
Use the same cookie "section" for all tours (tours with different tour_id's will store separate values),
Removed the unused default template setting sent to the tour,
and
Fixed a bug with restart tour which failed if all steps had been completed by using tour.goTo(0).
(thanks chibaguy and marclaporte)

Hey there
Quick question if someone is available to answer. Our tiki-wiki is currently version 13.2 and we saw in the admin panel it was saying to upgrade to 14. However, when I try to go through the upgrade process its trying to upgrade to 13.2 again

Any ideas?
