Hello. Hopefully someone can help about Tiki 12.6 LTS. I set up login via Shibboleth by mistake in http://theplanetarysystem.org/wiki2/tiki-admin.php?page=login and now Tiki is asking me to log in via Shibboleth. I changed auth_method to tiki in tiki_preferences but nothing changed. Any can help or point to any documentation? | [04:00] |

jonnyb | hi chibaguy | [12:10] |
chibaguy | Hi jonnyb
tale of woe regarding svn: my zukakakina.com seemed to be using old files, even after an svn up. So I renamed themes and templates directories and svn upped again to replace the directories. Now there's a WSOD, even after running setup.sh again. no error messages URL is shown ok in the browser but no content in the page source | [12:10] |
jonnyb | ew, sounds nasty
what does svn status say? | [12:15] |
chibaguy | It displays a list of files and directories that aren't in svn, each preceded by a question mark. | [12:17] |
jonnyb | did you do an svn switch? | [12:17] |
chibaguy | yes, it was running branch 14 before | [12:18] |
jonnyb | did you forget to add the . at the end maybe? | [12:19] |
chibaguy | but then has been functioning fine for several days, until today I noticed the old-file problem. | [12:19] |
jonnyb | hmmm, maybe a recent fix borked it :( | [12:19] |
chibaguy | No, I don't think so. My localhost is ok with the same version. | [12:20] |
jonnyb | same data? | [12:20] |
chibaguy | Actually now that I think about it, the svn switch didn't work for some reason so I checked out a fresh branch15 in its own directory and then moved the files into the web root.
IIRC | [12:21] |
jonnyb | aha, yes svn switch can be bumpy | [12:21] |
chibaguy | (data is different but I think isn't involved in this problem) | [12:23] |
jonnyb | anything useful in the apache error_log (or whatever)
? | [12:23] |
chibaguy | I'll check on that. In the meantime, I renamed the new SVN-upped themes and templates directories and renamed the old ones back to themes and templates, so now the site runs again.
with older files | [12:26] |
jonnyb | coolio, but weird… ;) | [12:27] |
chibaguy | I'll check the differences in the files and directories. | [12:27] |

jonnyb | sorry RadoQ - i have no idea about LDAP but i understand it's tricky to set up | [13:56] |
RadoQ | Uhm... where is the LDAP config stored? Seems I've locked out "admin" after switching to LDAP, can't login anymore. :( | [13:56] |

Jyhem | Jyhem looking at permissioncheck/.htaccess with perplexity. wth? | [14:31] |
jonnyb | it's hard enough tracking these token share bugs down as it is :)
best thing is to never look inside permissioncheck :P | [14:31] |
Jyhem | I have no idea what its purpose or meaning is :-(
ahhh, htaccess.sh explains quite clearly why it should not be used :-D | [14:31] |
jonnyb | oh right, never checked it - a symlink would be better i guess
i did add some options in the installer some time ago defaulting to making a symlink i think, but only for browser installs | [14:38] |
Jyhem | I'm not talking about "link vs copy". I talk about "Thus, only one file needs to be renamed, the one at the root directory."
Yet, there was the (unexpected) permissioncheck/.htaccess but yes, I would have done "ln -s " if you had not mentioned htaccess.sh I'd leave the "link vs copy" debate sleeping, honestly. We know the right choice depends on one's particular use-case, and people can choose, I think | [14:44] |
jonnyb | ok, sorry, trying to get to a break, going to miss lunch by the look of it… later maybe… | [14:47] |

Jyhem | RadoQ: I forgot, but I'd like to point out that you can give permission tiki_p_admin to any user account you like and then it's just like admin. Only, admin stays local admin-managed-login account even if all the rest are ldap-login | [15:48] |
RadoQ | Jyhem, thanks for all the help so far. | [15:58] |
jonnybradley | joined #tikiwiki | [15:58] |
RadoQ | jonnyb, thanks to you to.
Jyhem, that doesn't seem to work for me here, though. See my previous report: once switched to LDAP, the local "admin" doesn't work anymore. Oh, forgot to mention I'm playing around with v15 | [15:59] |
redflo | joined #tikiwiki | [16:06] |
Jyhem | RadoQ: that's bad :-(
Ohh, I see you need to check "Use Tiki authentication for Admin login" in tiki-admin.php?page=login#contentadmin_login-3 it's not automatic | [16:11] |
jonnyb: do you know if unified search also indexes attachments? The old kind which are not in the file gals? In tiki12? | [16:26]
jonnyb | i would have thought not, only file gallery files | [16:27] |
Jyhem | thanks, too bad. I'm going to ask if they want me to bill time experimenting, but I'll add I make no promises :-( | [16:31] |
jonnyb | why not use filegals for attachments? (it's the future! :) ) | [16:36] |
RadoQ | Jyhem, where is that "admin by tiki not external auth"?
"Use Tiki authentication for Admin login" is already set, doesn't help. Note: the page turns "empty" (in source, too), it's not a "login failed" page. RadoQ wonders if those problems are specific to v15 and previous might be better/ more stable with ldap. | [16:36] |
....... (idle for 34mn)
Jyhem | jonnyb: because that particular website was salvaged from mindtouch which has a fully attachments-based philosophy with no file galleries. So the idea was to not retrain users too much (and writing conversion scripts was hard enough as it was). | [17:15] |
jonnyb | no retraining needed, it just does it automatically if you set the pref | [17:16] |
Jyhem | RadoQ: empty page is probably something else. Does it work with other users than admin?
jonnyb: it does what automatically? Migrate the files? | [17:17] |
RadoQ | Jyhem, haven't installed local users because I wanted to auth to AD. | [17:18] |
Jyhem | RadoQ: anything interesting in your webserver error log? | [17:18] |
jonnyb | no migration i'm afraid, but i uses a gallery for each wiki page behind the scenes, the interface at the bottom of the page is much the same i think | [17:18] |
RadoQ | Jyhem, "PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined method UsersLib::ldap_sync_groups() in /var/www/html/tiki/lib/userslib.php on line 1499" | [17:19] |
Jyhem | jonnyb: yes, for new pages. Not for all their historical pages :-( | [17:19] |
jonnyb | not sure how it would work with a mix - maybe there is a move script somewhere?
would be easier to write that i think than to index the non-filegal files | [17:20] |
RadoQ | Jyhem, but that's new, haven't seen that error before.
BTW, resetting auth_method to "tiki" alone doesn't help, had to remove all the cached files from "temp" and "modules". | [17:20] |
Jyhem | jonnyb: I guess I can suggest writing this as part of the Tiki12 → Tiki15 migration. Right now they don't seem interested in breaking anything that works | [17:21] |
jonnyb | sounds wise | [17:21] |
Jyhem | RadoQ: I remember having this kind of issues when putting LDAP back in shape. Everything related to LDAP groups must have had the same issues and nobody looked it up :-(
something with function starting with or without underscores, or calling obsolete/missing libraries | [17:24] |
RadoQ | Well, I'd be happy if it worked without groups for users only for starters, I could look into groups later. | [17:27] |
Jyhem | I can't find the fix for the users. I guess i'm not the one who committed the fix.
well, _ldap_sync_groups() exists, and ldap_sync_groups() does not :-( So mu suggestion is: change the offending call from UsersLib::ldap_sync_groups() to UsersLib::_ldap_sync_groups() There might be other such ones | [17:29] |
RadoQ | But that affects user-auth, too? As said, I'd be happy to get users working first.
I even disabled group sync for now just to make users work, but didn't help. I also added some more debugging code to display the options for the connections, noticed wrong/empty binddn entry while bindpw is set correctly. Strange stuff going on there. | [17:36] |
Jyhem | it should not affect user-auth if you don't activate group-related stuff, like group synch, etc | [17:40] |
RadoQ | RadoQ guessed so. | [17:40] |
Jyhem | which is why I did not encounter the issue when I configured the active-directory site I set up. It's Tiki 12 but I don't think anyone broke it again. Feww people seem interested in Tiki with active-directory login | [17:49] |
RadoQ | Tiki not popular in M$-driven companies?
Given the access control features I'd assume it's a favourite for companies. group-inheritance or role-based-access isn't supported by many solutions. | [18:00] |
Jyhem | I think their favorite reseller would rather tell them about sharepoint than tiki :-)
and they don't have a culture of communicating with open-source projects, so we don't get to know about them. But yes, they do exist and some even fix bugs and add features :) | [18:06] |
