Can anyone help with a CSS issue?
For some reason the 'Look and Feel' -> Customisation tab is entirely empty, but from various help websites it appears to be where I have to add in custom CSS classes - any ideas? jonnyb: hi YoureMyWifeNowDa :) you probalby need to enable "advanced" mode on the admin view filter - thing that looks like a triangle top left of the admin icons YoureMyWifeNowDa: Thanks for the help

Editing doc.t.o is a bit of a chore. jonnyb: isn't it, but thanks for trying chibaguy :) chibaguy: gif anim doesn't work, although it does at zukakakina.com (also branch 15) jonnyb: i was tempted to try and tidy up the file galleries, everything seems to be in galleryId 1 :( Tiki-KGB: 03eromneg r58535 10branches/15.x/lib/wiki-plugins/wikiplugin_carousel.php * [FIX] NOTICE by giving $size a default value chibaguy: approving a plugin doesn't work at doc.t.o (anyway on the page I tried). The needs-approval dialog just comes back again.
I approved it on tiki-plugins.php but on the wiki page the dialog is still there.
(https://doc.tiki.org/tiki-index.php?page_ref_id=3834) Jyhem: hi chibaguy chibaguy: Hi Jyhem Jyhem: this is fascinating chibaguy: nice attitude :-) Jyhem: my Firefox displays https://doc.tiki.org/display1287 in its own tab, nicely animated chibaguy: oh, interesting. Jyhem: but for https://doc.tiki.org/dl1286 it prompts me to download or open a third party viewer
So I compared mime-types on doc.tiki.org and both are good (application/gif)
so I wonder what is the difference firefox sees chibaguy: I see 1287 animated but 1286 not animated, both in Firefox, although the same image as 1286 is animated locally and at Zukakakina.com, again in the same Firefox browser. Jyhem: According to gimp, the file I get from downloading https://doc.tiki.org/display1287 is definitely a 4-layer animated gif, and https://doc.tiki.org/display1286 is just a single layer
So, I guess it was changed on uploading
Was your original sized 1000x368? chibaguy: no
so the resizing flattens the layers or something? Jyhem: That would be my guess. It's rather crude and it changes it into a classic gif. chibaguy: I see. Is that a pref set per gallery? (Checking galleries now.) Jyhem: I don't know if it flattens or if it uses just the first or last layer
Yes, it is
See "Maximum width of images in gallery" in https://doc.tiki.org/tiki-list_file_gallery.php?edit_mode=1&galleryId=2#contentlist_file_gallery-1 luciash: you are solving something I already pointed out in the email reply ;) Jyhem: That is for preventing contributors with ADD from uploading straight from their camera :-( chibaguy: That's right luciash. I saw your comment but didn't respond yet. Jyhem: luciash: yes, I know. But the part about the mime-type was worth checking. chibaguy: Hmm, ok, but that means screenshots get resized. Bummer. Jyhem: I still wonder why my Firefox displays https://doc.tiki.org/display1287 in its own tab, but for https://doc.tiki.org/dl1286 it prompts me to download or open a third party viewer luciash: I guess for the animated gofs we would need a special subgallery without the max width and height limit set
s/gofs/gifs/ Jyhem: chibaguy: they only get resized when they are wider than 1000 luciash: and maybe limit that to just some trusted group of doc editors so people do not upload huge images there accidentaly
Jyhem: the difference is display vs dl (download) Jyhem: Also, we could provide feedback to people who upload images which got resized chibaguy: My image was a screenshot of a portion of #col1 - something that would be good to have in original size.
But was slightly over 1000px wide. Jyhem: luciash: OMG, I missed this all the time !
thanks, that was it. mystery solved luciash: I guess we could up that limit a bit, lets say 1920 width (which is my monitor screen actually) -: Jyhem needs food instead of embarassing himself luciash: :D chibaguy: I would expect the gallery for doc images would accept up to a full screenshot size.
Can I increase that gallery's size limit? luciash: does 1920px sound full enough?
chibaguy: yes, sure Tiki-KGB: 03jonnybradley r58536 10(53 files in 49 dirs)

Hopefully fixed ok manually, sorry no time to test... Jyhem: Sure, anything reasonable is good. We only want to avoid the huge unedited camera pics luciash: +1 chibaguy: Ok, this is gallery 2 - Images for the Documentation pages - can accept up to 1920px wide images. Jyhem: Also, the image you upload is the image people download, possibly on a hand-held device with poor connectivity. So let's upload as big as necessary, but not bigger :-)
bbl luciash: cu chibaguy: Heh, the doc.t.o/Admin+Home page is slow to load because each of the tabs (Tiki 3, 6, 7, 8/9) contains a ~200KB image of the admin icons.
I wonder about trimming away some of the old documentation to reduce page weight. luciash: I wonder it is not cached on page reload
? chibaguy: The images aren't big px-wise, but aren't very optimized KB-wise. There's a 199KB png32 image that can be optimized to 39KB png8 with no visual loss, for example.
Well, I was thinking about first time loading of the page on a phone, etc. luciash: i see, but that should matter only on first page load - subsequents page loads should have the images cached in your browser already?
so I wonder it is still slow for you chibaguy: So either trim old Tiki version stuff or at least optimize the images, would be good. luciash: but for sure +1 to reduce them chibaguy: Well, i can reload and it's faster of course, but my concern is doc visitors who are getting pages for the first time and need to download everything. It's heavy. luciash: yep, i was wondering it is slow for you every time you load the page chibaguy: Only slow the first time. Telesight: joined #tikiwiki luciash: chibaguy: but did you know you do not need to reupload the images and just use displayXXX?x=640 for example?
as the img src
to reduce the size
or previewXXX chibaguy: I'm not sure what case you mean. luciash: case if the images are too big, you can reduce the size on the fly using the x= or y= param
instead just using width param and reducing the size just visually in html chibaguy: ok, but I meant big in terms of file size (KB), regarding the slow initial page loads. luciash: the file size will be lower if you use x=640 instead of x=1000
as it gets resized by the server chibaguy: oh, I didn't know that.
But this would be for direct links to the images, right?, not images that are in wiki pages. luciash: you can just test here: https://doc.tiki.org/display1287?x=64 chibaguy: (Well, unless the resizing was meant for every request for the page.) luciash: you can put it in the page using the src= param
like {img src="display1287?x=64" link="display1287" rel="box"} for example (of course the gif resized will not be animated again tho ;)) chibaguy: right luciash: for sure it will not work for fileId="" param sobstbaum: joined #tikiwiki luciash: just the src= one chibaguy: ok Tiki-KGB: 03jonnybradley r58537 10branches/15.x/lib/smarty_tiki/function.sefurl.php
[FIX] structures: When feature_wiki_open_as_structure is enabled and the page is only in one structure no need to add the structure parameter on the end of the url chibaguy: Time to walk the dog. bbl. luciash: chibaguy: but if you want to optimize these screenshots to 8bit png you will need to re-upload them anyway
