Tiki-KGB: [REF] Merge mergeStringsWithTranslations() into writeStringsToFile(). mergeStringsWithTranslations() was called from a single place, so it only lengthened code. This must be better for performance. The only reason to separate them would be clarity, but since r35415 mergeStringsWithTranslations() deals with punctuation, which one would never tell from the method's name.

hi all
i am a new tikiwiki user and i have found this chat
i do not know if i am in the correct site to ask simple question (i am a beginner and I have some little questions about wiki usage)
i do not know if i am in the correct site to ask simple question (i am a beginner and I have some little questions about wiki configuration) xavi: hi newuser, just ask
we'll see if someone can help you here, otherwise, tikiwki-users list or https://tiki.org/forums might be better suited? newuser: so i wanted to configure an internal wiki xavi: s/tikiwki-users/tikiwiki-users newuser: the problem is that i am not able to configure a left navigation pannel
i am searching some examples but i am not able to find them
sorry for my question xavi: create a menu, and place that menu inside a module, and show that module in the left column newuser: could you please address me to a web with wiki examples
I mean xavi: something even more simple for you, to get you started with a quicker approach: use a simple wiki page for the menu, and you can get it created for you using a profile available in the profiles Wizard: https://doc.tiki.org/Profiles+Wizard
and search for collaborative wiki menu, or something like that newuser: yes
i am using the 'fivealive-lite' site theme
using this layout I should get a left navigation pannel but the result is only a simple page (only body with no left frame)
my question is adressed to get practical configuration examples
ok I will check that about 'menu inside a module'
thanks for your time and sorry for my 'silly' question xavi: np, the Tiki "Wizards" will help you get started on many topics
you'd better play with them in a localhost tiki in your computer, before adding too many changes to your real tiki site in the internet newuser: yes I am playing with a localhost
I have checked both links (forums + profiles wizard) and they're very useful
thank you very much! xavi: Jyhem: ? newuser: ok i tried the that about modules and it worked properly
thanks again!! xavi: glad this is useful, newuser, and welcome to the Tiki Community! Jyhem: plop
hi xavi xavi: hi Jyhem
