oh, now it is back to normal
seems it was just temporary glitch then amette: fascinating
yup
still weird fabricius: joined #tikiwiki luciash: definitely!
I also got server error just before that amette: ok, that makes it less weird.. what kind of server error? xavi: polom
hi luciash and amette and all
amette: error 500
intermitently over the last week or more amette: hi xavi :) xavi: and it takes like one minute or so to produce the expected output with no error 500 any more amette: given by whom? nginx? php? apache?
Jyhem: you are maintaining ovh - heard of these issues? --^ xavi: apache errro 500, afaik. After I saw that disappearing in some minutes the first times, I tried in the last 10 d or so just ot keep refreshing (F5) each time I first connected and saw error 500, to see how long it took to self fix, and it's less than 2 mnutes all the time
same with profiles.t.o, which lives in the same ovh server amette: weird... but probably not worth digging into... afaik Jyhem is working on getting ovh migrated to a new server, so this should be fixed through that - but he will be able to tell more. xavi: yes, sure
and since you are here, could it be that cron job in doc.t.o and dev.t.o is not running properly? amette: what do you mean exactly? xavi: I did report some updated I did to the corresponding file I saw there (are you subscribed to the infraestructure blog in t.o?)...
adding notification digest at the cron, so that they can be sent, but they were not sent, afaik redflo: joined #tikiwiki amette: yep, I saw that, hmm, cron works for other things... let me have a look xavi: thks amette: it fails due to the "--log --cron" options luciash: xavi: hola! (sorry was afk) amette: it's weird though I didn't get any notfication e-mails
I removed them for now, let's see if it works now... Topic: for #tikiwikiis now Tiki - the one and only Free & Open Source Software wiki-based CMS with the most built-in features! We log the channel @ http://irc.tiki.org (start line with [off] to exclude your message from the log) amette: ... and if I'll get e-mails... I'll have to have a talk with those Symphony devs... :-| xavi: ah, ok, thanks! amette: actually since Tiki 16 I get an e-mail for every single fu#?ing cron run, because they generate an empty line... *facepalm*
Though I'm not sure, if that's due to symphony or a Tiki regression. xavi: oups :-( Tiki-KGB: 03kroky6 r60726 10branches/ 0315.x/lib/core/Tiki/Command/ListExecuteCommand.php 1015.x 1015.x/console.php

amette & all: thanks for the reports on intermittent failures on ovh. Usual suspect: file system full amette: aah, yep, a classic Jyhem: next server will not have small separate partitions for /, /boot
too costly in terms of wasted time
one /var on SSD and / on SATA. Maybe some swap. How does that sound? amette: Whatever works for you. I like having smaller partitions to be able to notice, when some service starts spamming the disk. And I use monitoring to be notified of it before it does any harm.
And yes, there should absoluteley be swap !!!
And don't you plan on virtualising!? nelsonko: joined #tikiwiki Jyhem: Virtualising would have benefits if we plan to set a second root server. So we could move VMs around during root servers upgrades.
My current experienc with a single server and VMs was, the root server could never be upgraded
So, in the end, more wasted time and zero benefit amette: Hmm, I always virtualise nowadays, because it makes it much easier to upgrade the bare metal later on. Saves shitloads of money and work in the long run. But again: whatever works for you. Jyhem: With more than a server and extra IP adresses, it could be fun
By upgrading the bare metal, you mean change servers ? amette: yep
virtualisation just gives a ton of possibilities without any real drawbacks imho Jyhem: My issue was on all these security kernel upgrades which require a reboot
Then you reboot all the VMs also amette: yep, you'll have five minutes of downtime, that's true (I'd love to try kexec for those upgrades, but haven't yet) Jyhem: And then check everything went up again. IRC bots come to mind. amette: for that there's monitoring - do you really plan on doing all that checking manually!? Jyhem: No, I eventually fixed the reboot scripts :-D
Well, I'll look into improving all this more when the new server does what the current one does.
BTW, what is your virtualisation? virtualbox? kvm? docker? amette: kvm Jyhem: Just so we build compatible VMs
ok
can these be moved from one server to another? amette: sure Jyhem: good )
s/)/:)/ RadoS: Moin folks, mail for monitoring notification is great, but it has the whole content a monitored page, how/ where can I configure the content of those eMails?
+of amette: Hmmm, no idea... but I just know it with a diff in the e-mails... so I suppose there is some config setting somewhere at least. Jyhem: Well, it doubles up as page-level backups :-D
otherwise, no idea. there must be some template you can edit luciash: re-polom
RadoS: yep, there are tpl files in templates/mail/ or notifications/ iirc
so what should the download on sf.net default to?
16.1 or 15.3 LTS ?
I do not remember what was the conclusion (if any) RadoS: luciash, thanks for pointer, digging through it now... Jyhem: I'd prefer 15.3 LTS bt not sure luciash: Jyhem: ok, 15.3 there now
just sent something to sysadmins list - have you received it? nelsonko: joined #tikiwiki Jyhem: luciash: yes, seen it -: RadoS has put a '{if "1" == "0"}...{/if}' around the "full-page-content" output.

Jyhem: the upgrade script is not working there Jyhem: "there" ? luciash: yes, there I linked in the e-mail Jyhem: hmm, it's not in the scripts. was there a reason?
yes, probably the reason is, this one should not be reset to a blank Tiki?
Last Changed Date: 2014-04-05 21:05:11 +0200 (Sat, 05 Apr 2014) luciash: not reset but upgraded would be safer
if we do not like to make the server abused to send spam Jyhem: Agreed, testing new upgrade script before I put it in the general script
ahahhh, old friend: Could not scan for classes inside "vendor/smarty/smarty/libs/sysplugins/smarty_security.php" which does not appear to be a file nor a folder
