MyISAM can be faster on low-end machines like my old laptop, I used to use for developing. Nowadays I think InnoDB is the go-to choice, yes. A couple of years ago it couldn't do everything that MyISAM did, but that's history afaik. Haven't read up on them recently, but I think that there's no good reason any more to go with MyISAM.
Having said that... I still totally automatically select MyISAM each and every time I install a Tiki... hmmmm.... need to rethink that automatism.

left #tikiwiki RadoS: If it's like amette wrote, why not drop myISAM altogether and make all installs just innoDB?
less choice -> less chances to make errors.
Or if necessary to keep it for special corner cases, make it prominent default and offer "advanced" for the pros?
keep myISAM for corner cases -> make innoDB default with option for myISAM ("if you really know what you do"). juststrollingin: RadoS The default engine when installing(atleast 17) is MyISAM fabricius: joined #tikiwiki

Is this know/ fixed in newer versions, or would an updated software fail to export old content?
