fabricius: we have been severly discussing the roles issue at a TikiFest 2 years ago and coinsidently I was thinking about a possible solution yesterday evening
currently it is possible to copy category permissions of a group into another category
the problem is, that then THIS group has the same permissions in the other category
what we want is to use the permissions of THIS group in THIS category (ex. both would act as role templates) and copy them to THAT category (possible now) to THAT group (not possible now, cause we would copy them for THIS group)
What we need is to kind of 'inject' the permissions of THIS group to THAT group
I would like to discuss this at the next TikiFest in Brussels
If we could do that, a category and a set of groups could be used as template for roles and then the permissions simply copied.
This might still not be a REAL role system, but I'd say for many use cases good enough.
what do you think NishaS?
NishaS: Sorry, I didn't even know you messaged back.
Yes that would be better than nothind; When is the next Tikifest?
Fabricius, I am assuming you are one of the individuals who works on the creation and maintenance of Tiki?
fabricius: NishaS: I am not a coder, but very involved in the community on a nearly every day base. So less creation, but maintenance, communication etcetera. Next TikiFest is early February in Brussels: https://tiki.org/TikiFestFosdem2018
