mose: hey Bsfez I saw your mail at bitnami, the guys are working on the update
I think
well, I will have confirmation in a couple of hours
but on https://tiki.org/1-click-installers you could change the link to go directly to the stack, ie. https://bitnami.com/stack/tiki-wiki-cms-groupware
the guys in charge opf the release pipeline tell me it should be released today
they fixed the place where they were looking for updates, it's all automated that thing
luciash: polom
mose: hola luci
luciash: salut :)
thanks for the updates mose!
mose: you have an insider at Bitnami now ;)
luciash: yup yup, very cool :)
link change done
mose: if you know it handles upgrades and allows importing existing installs, edit to the wiki page is welcome ;)
mose: I checked the stats, most bitnami installer are about the windows version actually
not sure about that
I installed a tiki from bitnami installer few weeks ago it went fine
maybe I will try an upgrade then
I had a 18.0
luciash: coolio
good opportunity to test that after they bump it up
mose: exactly
what does it mean importing existing install?
luciash: you have installed Tiki normal way but want to switch to bitnami for upgrades
mose: manual copy of files and mysqldump is for sure possible
but that's quite manual and bitnami installer is fully selfcontained
means it installs apache php, mysql all in /opt
it doesn't rely on server system installs
quite an interesting approach
luciash: k, use case is if you move the files in the bitnami installer dir, I presume it will not work flawlessly if you want to upgrade to next version
mose: not sure, I will check it out
luciash: would need to be tested as well
great, that would help
e.g. Installatron I know for sure they had this import feature integrated and it worked but recently they falled behind, Installatron is not offering up-to-date Tiki versions anymore and they do not respond to requests which is a shame...
mose: packaging is a hard business
bitnami has a decent business model behind it, so it's reactive there
partnerships with big cloud vendors is big bucks
manual installers are merely a side effect now
