Do you think you could enter a bug on dev.tiki.org and reproduce the issue on a Tiki18 "show" instance? [12:20] lincolna I suspect its something with my setup rather than a bug per se [12:24] lincolna ok, so fun fact - if I uninstall R from the system, same error still [12:24] lincolna so it's like Tiki is not finding my R install? [12:30] fabricius joined #tikiwiki [12:37] seamymsg joined #tikiwiki [12:44] lincolna is there something I need to do to point Tiki towards it? [13:03] fabricius joined #tikiwiki [13:25] marclaporte joined #tikiwiki [13:57] Jyhem lincolna: as I mentioned, I will be away for the day, but I am interested in looking this up tomorrow afternoon if you are available. [14:02] lincolna probably [14:09] lincolna as said,I tihink its a setup issue, not a bug [14:09] lincolna but have basehd my head against it for long enough now [14:09] lincolna but have bashed my head against it for long enough now [14:19] lincolna I'm not really prepared to set up another tiki install for this mind [14:19] lincolna interestingly, I tried applying the "r_test" profile, but that doesn't work either [14:32] lincolna Oh wow, the mathematical calculation tracker field's syntax is gibberish [14:36] lincolna Or maybe it isn't, but the examples given in the docs simply don't work [14:42] marclaporte joined #tikiwiki [14:47] lincolna the example says "(tracker-field [14:47] lincolna (object type object-id) [14:47] lincolna (field priority) [14:47] lincolna )" [14:47] lincolna should return the contents of that field [14:48] lincolna but what it actually returns is "Variable not found "type"." [14:53] lincolna and turns out I didn't need that anyway [15:39] fabricius polom [15:41] fabricius hi lincolna, yesterday I just wanted to know wether you are more into R or more into Tiki, as I have nearly no knowledge of R but am interested to use R in a Tiki project. [15:44] fabricius lincolna: I am working with tracker field mathematical calculation and it works. Anyway it is partly limited to either numeric fields data or numbers of dropdown/multiselect. It cannot calculate numbers from static text field (static text is not considered as number) ... I need it to calculate the price of a conference based on partipants type [16:16] lincolna fabricius - later realised I could use stuff from that tracker without using the ludciorusly complicated syntax [16:16] lincolna anyway, never really used R before, but wanted to plot some stuff from a tracker [16:16] lincolna and pluginR seemed to be the only real option [16:17] lincolna and having R available on the wiki is nobad thing [16:27] fabricius lincolna: *as far as I know* you need an R server installed on the same machine as where Tiki is installed and R servers do not run on average shared hosting. The R calculation runs on the R server whilst the display runs in Tiki with R plugins interlinked to that server. [16:27] lincolna I've got R installed [16:27] fabricius ok [16:28] lincolna but it's not working. The fact that I get the same error with and without R installed is interesting [16:29] fabricius Then maybe one day I might come back to you when I have some beginners question about how to get R server running, given i have an adequate machine (ex. a Docker in the Hetzner cloud) ... [16:30] fabricius ... maybe you missed how to connect the R plugin to the server? Did you find the R documentation of Tiki? Xavi from Spain worked a lot with R and made some documentation [16:30] lincolna that's my best guess [16:30] lincolna the documentation I've found mentions no such connection though [16:34] fabricius let me have a look [19:27] marclaporte joined #tikiwiki [21:53] marclaporte joined #tikiwiki [22:05] Jyhem_laptop joined #tikiwiki [22:15] Jyhem_laptop_ joined #tikiwiki [23:12] marclaporte1 joined #tikiwiki [23:23] marclaporte joined #tikiwiki [23:49] Tiki|bot Recent Bug: - http://dev.tiki.org/item6679-Wish-for-Option-to-Search-by-Category-Name-useful-in-LIST-blocks
