   -: TimBurgess is back
   MAvL: TimBurgess, Hey!
<br> How goes the development of your Owncloud app?
   TimBurgess: hey :)
<br> It's going well thanks, the app is more or less done, but needs some input from the other dev members to get it finished.
<br> Primarily for the integration with the users app
   MAvL: okay
   <br> nice!
TimBurgess: They are pretty busy with the 6.5 release so may be a little bit longer
   <br> How are you?
   MAvL: yes, fine
   <br> you?
TimBurgess: yeah good thanks, relaxing after a busy weekend
   MAvL: family duties or work?
TimBurgess: family - my daughters birthday party yesterday
   <br> :-)
   MAvL: congratulations!
   TimBurgess: thanks
MAvL: how old is she become?
   TimBurgess: 2
   <br> only small
   MAvL: okay
<br> i have a niece of three years and nephew of one year
   TimBurgess: nice - good ages!
<br> have you experimented with beta 2 yet?
MAvL: always to visit my siter
<br> just installed beta 2 in virtualbox
   <br> marketplace looks really nice
TimBurgess: yeah Ben has been working on improving it
MAvL: In my opinion the Marketplace was a good idea
<br> it's become better and better
TimBurgess: Yes, would be nice to see more third party apps though
   MAvL: true
TimBurgess: If I can get some more time, I'd like to push some more out
MAvL: you are a handy guy...
TimBurgess: Petes been working on the dev documentation and tutorials to try and help
MAvL: did you teach it yourself writing apps
TimBurgess: handy at some things ;)
<br> yes - self taught PHP
   MAvL: okay
TimBurgess: It's not so bad once you get into it, and how the codeigniter system works
<br> Just a way of structing your code really
   <br> structuring*
MAvL: but you also have to package stuff
   <br> like transmission
<br> i suppose you have some sort of install file
TimBurgess: not necessarily - that's secondary. It's much easier to try and find an EL6 compatible RPM and use that
   <br> EPEL, Atrpms for example
   <br> Or indeed a package from clearos-core
<br> They can be pulled into the build system, and your app can reference it as a dependancy
<br> Any progress on the IRC front?
MAvL: dave is working with erry on it
   TimBurgess: ah ok, great
MAvL: there is also #clearos the founder is steven he made me ops
<br> Dave asked me if i was interested
   TimBurgess: great :)
MAvL: this is also the idea with #clearfoundation
TimBurgess: is that instead of the clearfoundation channel?
   <br> I see
   MAvL: it's pan B
   <br> *plan
<br> or maybe use both channels
   TimBurgess: Ok
MAvL: I hope that this time the irc channel project succeed ...
<br> to go back to the apps stuff.., for example subsonic.., this is available on sourceforce. How is the done in this situation
<br> there is a fedora / red hat installer
TimBurgess: OK, so all source code needs to be provided in RPMs - you either need to find a third part EL6 compatible RPM you can use, or package your own
<br> That's good, so they have probably done most of the leg work already in terms of dependancies and libraries etc
MAvL: it's a rpm when you download it
<br> you can very easily install in on clearOS
TimBurgess: OK, that's good - do they provide a SRPM so that it can be built elsewhere?
   MAvL: hmm, not sure
   <br> sourcecode is on sourceforge.net
   TimBurgess: yup I got it
   <br> http://sourceforge.net/projects/subsonic/files/subsonic/4.8/
MAvL: i suposse the subsonic-4.8.src.zip is the sourcecode
   TimBurgess: yes
<br> the issue with java apps is whether they can be built by third parties, or include closed source java components
<br> the latter is a problem for source code distribution
   MAvL: hmm, okay
TimBurgess: have to check out the licensing / build instructions?
MAvL: quote Subsonic is free software: you can redistribute it and/or modify it under the terms of the
   <br> GNU General Public License.
TimBurgess: Hmm maybe OK? depends on how its packaged up I guess
   MAvL: It's getting late
   <br> i'm going to bed
   TimBurgess: OK - night!
   MAvL: nice talk!
   -: TimBurgess is AFK
