Hey people
how are you doing?
bought a HP Proliant DL320e. The new home for ClearOS.
but it's doa...
so no more HP for me...
[20:14]
LacrociviousDOAs suck donkey butt. ... and Proliant no less! I thought QC was way better for those
Maybe the NSA damaged it when they intercepted it in shipment to install surveillance devices prior to sending it along to you
;-)
[20:21]
cc-daveloperlol
that is what I was thinking too Lacrocivious
[20:30]
MarcelvanLeeuwenhaha
The local pc guy is making a offer to build a server
first i want to build it myself but i have to less experience...
[20:37]
cc-daveloperbefore you send it back… watch this.
and then inspect
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vtQ7LNeC8Cs
You could always buy a ClearBOX as well.
[20:40]
MarcelvanLeeuwentrue
but i want a powerfull machine
i now want to use a Xeon E3-1275 v3
with a intel motherboard the s1200rpl v3
in a 4u rackmount case
with 5 hot-swap bays
my main storage is a synlogy nas with 12 bays
[20:41]
Lacrociviouscc-daveloper: Every one of us should watch that Applebaum presentation [20:44]
MarcelvanLeeuwenexpandble to 24 [20:44]
cc-daveloperIndeed. I'm going to post it on the foundation site today and recommend everyone watch it. [20:44]
LacrociviousIt may start a little slow but it gets terrifyingly riveting later [20:44]
MarcelvanLeeuwenyeah read something about it... [20:44]
LacrociviousIt's like getting repeatedly gut-punched, doped by your healthily overactive cynic gland, and learning Santa Claus is a pedophile, all at once [20:46]
MarcelvanLeeuwenhmm very interesting...
going to watch it later on my tablet
[20:51]
............ (idle for 56mn)
btw is professional 6.5 already released? [21:48]
cc-daveloperno…not yet
the UI is updated but the packages underneath are not.
[21:51]
MarcelvanLeeuwenokay
not that it matters for me... :)
[22:00]
cc-daveloperwe are just trying to make sure that the Hyper-V problem is good and gone [22:01]
MarcelvanLeeuwenbut maybe when my new server arrives i can install pro 6.5
okay
yes , i did read the troubles posted in the forums
[22:01]
Lacrociviouscc-daveloper: Does RedHat deciding to work together with CentOS have any effect upon ClearOS? [22:02]
cc-daveloperIt actually helps us. [22:03]
LacrociviousThat would have been my first guess [22:03]
cc-daveloperOur long term strategy is to be able to operate on RHEL and CentOS…and eventually other OSs
so that helps
[22:03]
LacrociviousI would also venture the observation that it cannot hurt ClearOS penetration into more enterprise-ish market sectors than before [22:06]
MarcelvanLeeuwenI saw that Zentyal is now officialy supported by Canonical [22:08]
cc-daveloperYeah, that competitive sector will also be an advantage for us with RHEL.
Little known fact: Zentyal took a lot of our ideas from us when Mark Shuttleworth had them secretly on a conference phone while we were in the Canonical offices in London.
But it's all open source so their big money spends just help us. They have lots of debt and we have so little in comparison.
[22:21]
MarcelvanLeeuwenoh
How did you found out that Shuttleworth had them on the phone?
[22:24]
off to bed
adios!!!
[22:38]
