chibaguy: Isn't there an on/off switch for the wiki page "saved by" message (2.0)? I can't find it on wiki admin page.
This message should be optional, I think (not sure what the purpose of it is, really).
Apart from the version number, it just repeats information that is/can be displayed already at page bottom.

chibaguy: jcyrisse, It works ok for me. I wonder if your db needs an update.
jcyrisse: i just upgraded...like 2 days ago
think i need to run scripts again?
on the db?
chibaguy: I haven't seen this error in any 2.0 version, so it's not a bug, that I know of.
So maybe your installation is not complete in some way.
jcyrisse: oh geese
go figure
ok...think of me as a 3rd grader...how do i troubleshoot it? rerun the 1.9-2.0 scripts? and the sec db script?
chibaguy: It isn't clear to me what the db error is. http://sh.nu/p/24799 shows the full error message?
I don't know what the secdb script is for. I haven't used it, only 1.9-2.0.
jcyrisse: yes...that is all i am seeing
chibaguy: You could verify that the tiki_stats table structure in tiki.sql file is the same as what's in your db.
(just look and compare, I mean)
***: Lucymoz has quit IRC ("Leaving")

chibaguy: Do you have phpmyadmin on your server, to check the db?
jcyrisse: sec...brb
back
you mean do a repair?
chibaguy: No, if a repair was needed, the message would say so. Since it's a query problem, there must be a mismatch between what the stats php file is asking for and what the db has. So maybe the tiki_stats db table is missing something.
(AFAIK -- I'm no expert.)
jcyrisse: ok...so how would i know if i was missing something?
heh...think i am missing a programmer brain
chibaguy: Open tiki.sql in a text editor and find tiki_stats. Then look at you db's tiki_stats table using phpmyadmin. See if the structure is the same.
...same column names, etc.
Or just do an update with the Tiki install file.
jcyrisse: k
chibaguy: run the 1.9-2.0 update script on that page.
jcyrisse: that probably is easiest
chibaguy: Well, if it doesn't help, then you can try the other things.
jcyrisse: yes
ok..will try that
Petjal2: Hi all. How can I (most easily) program a specific banner image to appear in the top or right panel based upon which tw page is being displayed? Thanks.
franck: Petjal2: that's a little bit complicated...
Petjal2: I thought it might be...
franck: but I suppose you can extract the {$page} name and apply some code...
***: Timothy has joined #tikiwiki
Petjal2: oh well, I'll save that one for later.
how about this one: how do I call an image from my gallery into a banner? I can't seem to get the syntax right.
franck: Petjal2: I would categorise the pages, and use the category to display a particular image...
Petjal2: ooh, that might be easier, huh?
franck: Petjal2: you can use <img src="show_image.php?id=??" >
I'm not sure about the show_image, but the syntax is displayed when you look at an image in the image gallery
Petjal2: I'll try putting something like that in the html block...
franck: for categories, you still need to extract the {$category(?)} variable,,,
jcyrisse: how do i remove db/lock to run the db scripts again?
franck: jcyrisse: you need to edit tiki-install.php
jcyrisse: k
franck: or restore it, I think now it is saved with a different extension
jcyrisse: k...there are two files
one that is tiki-install.php
and the other tiki-install_disable.php
franck: yes delete first one , rename and edit second one
or something like this
***: RobotGuy has quit IRC ("Nap time - too warm and stuffy here")

I'd try replacing tiki-stats.php, tiki-stats.tpl and lib/stats/ with fresh versions.
jcyrisse: when i run the query outside of tw.o i get results
chibaguy: just to make sure the files are all there and not corrupted, etc.
jcyrisse: i am worried about maybe some corruption in my image files
checking that
chibaguy: Have you done any customizing of files?
jcyrisse: no...not that i recall
i think it has to do with corrupt files

so, dont think it is a java thing
chibaguy: 3d browser has worked and not worked at various times, for me.
Now I'm trying and I'm just getting a blank popup with a busy pointer.

tomekkott: hi all, i'm trying to get my oracle db working, and it seems that it just might (everything connects fine, theres just some 1450 sql statements that go wrong... :) ). Anyway, what I've run into now is that some of the table names are too long (apparently anything over 30 characters). I was thinking that locally, I can just do that by writing a shell script that searches all the files (I know, a lot) and changes the names of all the table names and su
ch with tiki_ -> tw_, edit_ -> e_, users_->u_, etc., to save room. Would this be enough to change all of them at once and not break tw?
marclaporte: tomekkott: : I don't know
tomekkott: but it would be most interesting to find a solution for Tiki & Oracle :-)
Are you using latest version of Oracle?
tomekkott: marclaporte: well, the added problem is that my solution requires an old version of oracle, so even if I get it to work, no guarantee it will work for everyone
no, oracle 8i
*sigh*
lphuberdeau: you mean they don't only force you to use oracle, but a very old version of it?
tomekkott: yup
gotta love universities, huh?
anyway, what do you all think is the best scripting language to go through entire tw dirs looking for all the permission names and table names and such?
and is there a list somewhere of all those names and permissions and such?
lphuberdeau: PHP, you can use the tokenizer function to parse the files as PHP would
then you can focus on strings or just pieces that matter
Paragtim: In the bread crumb feature, can the "Location" (1st entry) be changed?
***: pujib has quit IRC (Read error: 110 (Connection timed out))
tomekkott: here's a question, I somehow got a table name to start with an '_' (which is illegal in Oracle) and now I can't remove it because it is an illegal name
any ideas how to force that?
lphuberdeau: I don't know of any table in tiki starting with _...
in mysql, you can enclose the token between backquotes and use any name you wish
havn't used oracle in years
tomekkott: hmm, yeah, idon't think it was on purpose, something with me trying to install it must've gotten stuck and sent the "_" as a first char
thanks

lphuberdeau: yes, but oracle can't index "text" datatypes (which get translated as CLOB)
lphuberdeau: that can be a problem
tiki abuses text variables... often should be varchars
tomekkott: for the body of an article or wiki, I can sure understand using text
i might just have to pick a size for varchar that works for me
lphuberdeau: that shouldn't be indexed... really
tomekkott: and translate all text -> varchars
in my conversion script, i might just drop any index that wants to index text
lphuberdeau: the problem is the size differences
***: Lucymoz has joined #tikiwiki
lphuberdeau: text can hold more than varchar, which is limited to 256 chars or something like that
tomekkott: i see
lphuberdeau: oh, changed with MySQL 5... limit now 2^16 rather than 2^8
tomekkott: UTF-8 characters take up a byte each, right?
lphuberdeau: depends on the character
***: nkoth3 has quit IRC ()
lphuberdeau: english characters do, because UTF-8 is ASCII compliant
but accentuated characters often take 2
some characters take up to 6 I think
tomekkott: ok, so 2bytes per character would be a good conservative estimate
for a large average of chars
lphuberdeau: for latin/european languages, average is closer to 1 than 2
they wrote the spec ;)
tomekkott: hehe
lphuberdeau: actually, it's mostly because asian languages have thousands of characters and they need at least 3 bytes themselves
