The list under Use pre-existing is practically non-usable if you have a large number of pages...and something made me think this wasn't too tough a change....

how does the orphan pages work. I have made links to the pages already. Does it take time to update?

Alright another Structures question....very strange thing happened when I tried to use the Create Page option on tiki-edit_structures.php.   The page I was creating had a similar name, in part, to a pre-existing page.  When I clicked Update, it didn't create the new page, it (somehow) game the old existing page a Structure alias of the new name I was trying to make into a page.
Is there a way to control/edit/otherwise fix this, because now the page displays with the incorrect title. :-)
The page name is not changed, mind you...if I try to Rename the page, it still shows the old name....it's just working (as it appears) like a Structure alias....
Dunno why it happened, didn't think it was possible to add an alias to any old Wiki page, and would like to know how to do/undo this.....thanks in advance!

nope it still says they are orphan, but I can get to them following the links from the homepage
I'm honestly not sure if orphan pages work of straight inter-page links, or if it works off of Structures / Categories....
Try putting some pages in a Structure or Cat them and see if they drop off your list.
oh really, well maybe I need to read up on categories
I don't do much inter-page linking, so never paid attention to that....they do go off my Orphan list when I add to a structure tho....that happens to be my main organization method

try clearing your caches in System Admin just in case that has anything to do with it....

tiki has it's own set of caches.....logged in as Admin, yoy have a System Admin menu option....there's 3 or 4 to do....

I've been using Tiki since 1.9 came out or thereabouts....love working with it. :-)  Seems like that's a common experience.  (Not to say it's without it's warts...like anything)

I jsut made two pages with only wiki-links to each other as content....not part of stuctures or categories.....and neither shows as an orphan.

used to be anyway that the options were Slashdot, fishroom, Basic....something like those...

that way you could get one set up for Articles/sumissions like Slashdot.....or get it set up for a Fishroom which I think implies Forums....

If you're not too far along, I think I'd suggest going nuclear and starting over from scratch...
pick the Slashdot option from the install.php screen when you get there (unless one of the other options sounds closer to what you want)...

On the General page in admin, there's a checkbox for Help System that turns it on and off.
