Oh, maybe I misunderstood. If you can save but don't see the effect, the caches might need to be cleared.
when i hit update it dosent save for global permisions. wiki pages save and so do object permissions.

But when you assign a new perm on tiki-assignpermission.php, you should see it assigned when the page refreshes after submit.

Does the page refresh after the submit and show the box is checked for that perm?
Or the checkbox is empty still?
i click the check box hit update then it basicaly refreshes the page and the perm is not assigned

Hmm. I made a new Tiki 2.0 site yesterday for testing. At this site I can assign perms to groups with no problem.

(I noticed that if a feature isn't activated, assigning related perms doesn't work but there's no error message.)
Well, maybe run the install upgrade script (1.9->2.0). Couldn't hurt.
What kind of server is it? Linux/apache, or...?

The upgrade script won't do anything to your work; it just makes sure the database structure, etc. is up to date

Well, the general advice is to back up your db first.
(do a db dump)
There are security steps in the process, so you need to have ftp or file manager access to the site.

That's usually called wiki syntax, as far as I know, but Tikiwiki's wiki syntax is not the same in all details as the syntax used by other wikis.
I don't think there is any "Tikiwiki syntax" in addition to the wiki syntax that Tikiwiki uses.

Tikiwiki 2.0: Why the coded text in the normal editor (written with an earlier version) doesn't automatically change into WYSWYG editor?
check your setting in admin->wysiwyg - uncheck reopem with the same editor
perhaps - it will work ...
I'll explain it a liitle bit more.
If I write something new in the 2.0 it works OK. I can change from normal editor to WYSWYG without problems.
The problem comes when I open something I wrote in a 1.9x.
I cannot see it with the WYSWG editor.

on the old wiki version 1.9x we used a redirect module
it seems the new version does not contain that module
has the new 2.0 version some other way to redirect a page?

I'm trying to use tiki for a decision tree but the problem is that I have to create multiple pages with Yes and No links on it, ie... "can you print? ((YES))/((NO))" then if you click NO "Is the printer plugged in? ((YES))/((NO))  the yes and no's all end up going to the first YES page... suggestions?

that way you can give your link a different name than the page it is pointing to

it is a prefs ($prefs - that is set up in lib/setup/prefs.php ) and that is used in the smarty templtes
sylvieg - isn't there an admin screen though, where one can disable right or left columns?
i recall disabling left columns, and now when i move a module from right to left, i am unable to view it
