heh, great to hear that americans like manual shifting ;) I'm in that club also :) ( americans like the continent I meant - dunno actually, if canadians are so much into automatics also... but well, off to bed now ) Hi all, if anyone's awake, I'm hitting the style problem while setting up a tw blog and while trying to use {TAG}. I remember seeing it mentioned in IRC, but I couldn't find a fix. Anyone? Thanks. Petjal2, what Tiki version is that? sorry, tiki-admin general reports 2.0RC4 i may have done an svn up of some sort since then Hey does anyone know how to remove the POWERED BY TIKIWIKI sign at the footer of the page Brando753, what theme are you using? Petjal2, in a site updated to release 2.0, I don't have a problem with style. the defult theme :D chibaguy: thanks. I'm so afraid to upgrade. I tried an svn up last week and got a bunch of adodb or some such errors. Luckily I was smart enough for that brief moment and made a backup which I had to copy back over. Brando753, you can uncheck "Bottom bar" on Admin Look & Feel page (tiki-admin.php?page=look), under the "General Layout" tab. This also stops the other things down there from showing. I don't think there's a specific checkbox for the "powered by" line. k 1 sec If you want the rss icons or translation icons, etc., but not the powered-by line, you'll have to edit templates/tiki-bot_bar.tpl, as far as I know. thx worked great :D no problem :-) chibaguy: any idea which file has the style problem? maybe I can fix just that file? (or, more harder, how to safely upgrade my tw to 2.0 or, egads, 2.1?) I just updated a site with ftp to 2.1. I ftp the files (overwrite if source newer), then run the tiki-install.php page to update the db. Smooth as silk. sweet i changed the text at the buttom to display my articles copyrights thanks :D :-) hmm, I didn't run the tiki-install.php after my svn up, maybe that was my problem. The install script takes care of database updates. (Not content, but table structure, etc.) which would maybe explain the adodb errors You don't actually need to run tiki-install.php if you manually update the database instead, as long as new db additions, changes, etc. are made. But the script is probably the easiest way. oh yeah In the past I used phpMyAdmin, but it's tedious. ...quits at each error. The "errors" reported by tiki-install.php are mostly (all?) about changes that have already been made. and so the errors can be ignored. as I recall somewhere there was an option to ignore those errors, but I forget where it was There's a flag to set for command line mysql access, but I don't know about in phpMyAdmin. I never found it, if so. The blog and {TAG} are not high priority now, so, being as exhausted as I am at the moment, I'll think I'll wait... Thanks for the input, chibaguy! sure, but there are security issues, so maybe don't wait too long ;-) Hi. This is my attempt #3 at the same question :) - any advice would be appreciated. I'd like to collect some info from the users on registration, namely their location (not long, lat, but actual city / country where they live). I want to enable those users to be able to edit that info later on if they wished from their User Preferences under My Tiki. What is the best way of doing it? I looked into trackers - is or something else? leon007, this is what using trackers for additional user information is for, as I understand it. But I haven't tried it myself so don't know the details. Did you read http://doc.tikiwiki.org/tiki-index.php?page=User%20Tracker&redirectpage=Registration%20Tracker ? I did a google search on tiki documentation and somehow didn't see this page. Let me have a look! Ok I'll try this - sounds somewhat complicated. I am somewhat confused by this step in tracker creation: There must be a user selector - with the option feeding=1. This field will be automatically filled with the username. Note what the fieldID is for this one. leon007, maybe you need to go through the steps of making a tracker, if you haven't done that before. (but I don't know what "with the option feeding=1" means, either, offhand....) hi chibaguy - thanks for the link. I feel like I am almost there... I do now get a query as a second step of registration, but I am doing something wrong with the way I am trying to reference fieldIds of the trackers, because I get this: Incorrect fieldId: fieldId=3, fieldId=4, fieldId=5, fieldId=6 I also tried just 3, 4, 5, 6 never mind... "3: 4: 5: 6" works! nice I want to cry :( I was premature in my celebration... Now I am getting "Wrong registration code" after I enter all the tracker info... Do you use the registration code option normally? is this the anti-robot code thingy? those funky jumping around numbers? No, similar but in this case it's "Request passcode to register:" option on Admin Login. The number isn't random, it's set by admin and people registering have to know it in advance. I assume from the message you're getting that it's turned on or something thinks it is. no, that was never checked off... Also, if I turn off using trackers on the Group registration (i.e. user is not asked for those fields) then this problem goes away I can register just fine, that is u r talking about: Request passcode to register: ? it's not checked in the admin Yeah, just wanted to eliminate that possibility. Seems like there is a bug ID 1505 What Tiki version are you using? tiki 2.0 even closer bug: ID 1818 User registration with anti-bot & user tracker for additional information not working :( Well, there's a 2.1 release out today. I don't know if this bug's been fixed, tho. What does this mean: Sylvieg checked a fix into trunk (3.0). I've back ported tiki-register.php to my Tiki 2.0 and it seems tow work now. Needs additional testing by others. seems like there is a fix floating somewhere, but where is it? yeah, it works if I disable the antibot thing also... It seems to mean you can save this -- http://tikiwiki.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/tikiwiki/trunk/tiki-register.php?revision=14417 -- as tiki-register.php and try using it at your site. Maybe keep the current tiki-register.php around just in case you need to switch back. beautiful! it worked... Now I just need to figure out why the value of those trackers don't show up in preferences (just the fields show up) and I'll be on my way... Thanks a lot chibaguy - you've been extremely useful! Heh, sure, no problem. :-) polomoloq SVN: Commit by chibaguy :: r 14835 /mods/trunk/themes/ohia/styles/ohia.css: [FIX] Site title color wasn't set for a:visited. hi luciash. BTW, your greeting is a kind of visual palindrome, I'd say (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palindrome) (-- visual because the p is flipped) bbl Yo Yo Hiya Nunya Hello Darklordx11 Later Hi guys, when I use: {CATEGORY(id=>14,sub=>n,sort=name_asc)}{CATEGORY} on a wiki it shows the contents of the category just fine. But it also shows an annoying headline "Category: ". Can I get rid of that? hi all I need some help to have the wrong query in tiki-admin_categories.php fixed so that it works back again on mysql 4.0.x sites with Tiki 2... sylvieg ? any other mysql standards guru around and willing to help? ^ lphuberdeau ? marclaporte ? I'm in trouble on a production site due to this issue, and I would need to use that site tomorrow with my students... hi xavi. sorry, im no mysql guru :( hi ricks99, thanks anyways :-) polom xavi: : no sé "no s?" ? and what is the query that does not work? hi sylvieg, hold on... I know the one in fgal - but I have no idea what this query is doing... http://uniwiki.sima.ourproject.org/tiki-admin_categories.php you can reproduce the error there... sylvieg, you had admin account on that site afaik Query:SELECT tab.*, tfgp.`name` as `parentName` FROM (SELECT 1 as `isgal`, tfg.`galleryId` as `id`, tfg.`parentId`, tfg.`name`, tfg.`description`, 0 as `size`, tfg.`created`, tfg.`name` as `filename`, tfg.`type`, tfg.`user` as `creator`, '' as `author`, tfg.`hits`, tfg.`votes`, tfg.`points`, '' as `path`, '' as `reference_url`, '' as `is_reference`, '' as `hash`, tfg.`name` as `search_data`, tfg.`lastmodif` as `lastmodif`, '' as `last_user`, '' as `lockedby`, Message:You have an error in your SQL syntax. When I set them up, and put pages in them, registered users cannot see the pages anymore. Anonymous users have: tiki_p_view_categorized and tiki_p_view_categories. they can see the categories, and the pages, but when they click on the page, it says permission denied....? it is the fgal one .... I have no idea what this query is doing will find out who wrote this beautiful query and send a mail (I think it is nyloth Darklordx11: Does registered include Anonymous? Darklordx11: just a guess: can you check that your registered group is inheriting permissions from anonymous? (it should, but just in case, did you try adding those perms manually to registered, and to the category) Yea, says inherited from when you check under registered for the permissions. @Darklordx11: do you have specific permissions assigned to the category? try also adding them to the category Actually if I add permissions to the category itself, they dissappear for all users except admins... btw, thanks sylvieg . for the annoying fgal query in mysql 4.0.x Also, I found if I added perms to the page itself, it IS viewable. but I don't want to have to add perms to every page that gets created... meh. page-specific perms will override the category and/or group perms Darklordx11: when you add permissions to a category (or any object in tiki), you have to set explicitly all the permissions you want to all groups Ok, that makes sense. Darklordx11: if this solves your problem, could you please read documentation about categories and permissions, and explain this in clear words, if you consider that it is not clear enough explained there? I mean, improve documentation pages if needed: http://doc.tikiwiki.org/Documentation When I go to assign permissions to category, I select tiki_p_view_categories to group registered for This category and all its children. if you can, please And then, its inivible to registered users for some reason. Darklordx11: add view_categorized also (needed) and add them also to group anonymous! xavi, that query requires 4.1 Ok, added both, and now user can see the category but not the pages in it. lphuberdeau: thanks for info, I deduced that some days ago.... We are just looking for some way to allow Tiki 2 being usable in mysql 4.0.x.... ah 4.1.... not 5.0 Darklordx11: did you read and understand the new behavior of category permissions in Tiki 2? it's explained in documentation I did read it, but it doesn't seem to be working that way.... xavi you need to ask your sysadmin to upgrade... it's only partial in the chat screen I'm at 2.1 4.0 is no longer supported... realy old lphuberdeau: the fact is that http://ourproject.org is running 4.0.x, and they are in process of upgrading to higher (mysql 5 probably), but it required hardware upgrade also... and it will take some weeks or months yet, it seems... I was told that info by the sys admin of ourproject.org yesterday.... but upgrade 4.0 to 4.1 must not be so hard... FYI: http://edu.tikiwiki.org is hosted on ourproject.org hardware upgrade? Let me go re-read the doc for categories, and try again. bbl buying ans installing new hardware, for some other reason, and they were planning to do both things at once sylvieg and lphuberdeau , I'll ask him to upgrade to 4.1 at least, of possible. However, there are other people with the same issue... (I saw people complaining on tw.o forums weeks ago, and no answer about what to do...) anyway, thanks for the info and tip, lphuberdeau and sylvieg code would have to be rewritten for it to work in 4.0, and it's not so easy to do yeh - it is not an easy query ... what about pickink the get_files function from just brfore the change sysadmin is on jabber right now and considering the 4.0 to 4.1 upgrade... q: new 2.1 install. what perm is needed for switch_theme module? im logged in as admin and says "permission denied"? o i see... need 'reg users can change theme' otherwise xavi you can pick up the get_files function before rev 11520 http://tikiwiki.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/tikiwiki/trunk/lib/tikilib.php?r1=11438&r2=11520 sylvieg, and lphuberdeau: in my case, I'll find my way. The sys admin will attempt a mysql upgrade from 4.0.x to 4.1.x (and backups for the hundreds of sites hosted there, etc.). If it succeeds, I'll keep setting up that tiki tomorrow. If for whatever reason the upgrade fails, I'll get an old version of tiki110cvs in the mean time (while the site is successfully upgraded) sylvieg: get_files... you mean that I manually revert that change from tikilib.php and that's it? yes in tikilib rename get_files get_files_new, pick up the code of the get_files funciton in revision 11438 - and try ... thanks sylvieg, I'll try right now Hi guys, when I use: {CATEGORY(id=>14,sub=>n,sort=name_asc)}{CATEGORY} on a wiki it shows the contents of the category just fine. But it also shows an annoying headline "Category: ". Can I get rid of that? Ok, followed the categories documentation exactly. I have one category, with view permissions to registered and anon. The anon account has both view permissions for categories and categorized. Registered inherits all from anon and also had edit categorized. The registered and anon users can see the category, but cannot see any pages in the category. I have one test page in the category. Darklordx11: any specific perms on that page? I just created the page, its default. I just checked, and no perms assigned to that page. @Darklordx11: did u clear the cache? Hrm, no. Which Cache should I clear? all tiki caches @stix: u can modify the cateobjects.tpl template to remove the "Category:" text hi xavi Still says no records found when I log in as guest (registered user account) hi MatWho :-) Would it make a difference if its running on windows under apache? Darklordx11: "no records found"? could provide the url where you expect to see the categorized page and you don't? Unfortunately this is an internal system and will not link externally, but I am going to categories and clicking the category to see any pages contained in it. ricks99, okay thanks, I'll have a look at that file kb/tiki-browse_categories.php?find=&type=&parentId=0&sort_mode=name_asc ok, Darklordx11: did you try with another theme style? like tikinewt.css , or thenews.css ? xavi: I can try that. xavi: tried thenews, same result. Darklordx11: anyway, the url you said is for parentId=0, and I guess your category has an Id differnt from zero... yes, id=1 sorry, lol. Just been working on this for 2 days, getting a bit flustered. @ darklordx11: if u uncategorize the page, will it appear in the regular page listing (tiki-listpages.php)? Yes, it will. Darklordx11: and even if categorized, does it appear on regular page listing? on the category's admin page, do you have the "assign permisisons automatically" optin enabled? If I remove the permissions on the category itself, the page will show up, but I get a permission denied when I try to view it. and u are 110% sure that there are no individual perms on the page? OMG. Hrm... It just worked. worked? what? I removed the permissions from the category again. So the page would show up, (so I wouldn't catch myself fibbing). and went there under my guest account, and it loaded the page. I wonder if it was cause I cleared the cache a few mins ago... Lemme add some of my real pages to it and see if it works. That works now too! Hooray! Seems that having permissions on the category itself was not letting me see or view the pages. Which seems backwards to the reason for having permissions. yes, cleared cache and recompiling templates did the job, probably im confused... do u have specific perms on the >categorygeneral_.cross scripting feature thanks, sylvieg, this did the trick: multiple deletion is back again working lphuberdeau: but this page doesn't use the switch_lang module hmm... recent change... used to be there and i got the same behaviour on www.opensourcecms.com/cms/tiki I don't really have time to look into it at this time never mind ;) any easy way to see what version of tiki i'm running? admin->general written in there if not, it's probably really old i want to upgrade to 2.1 .... bit scared as I don't know what version this is, i am very sure its 1.9.6 1.9.6 to 2.x isn't a small update I would reccommend you set-up a 1.9.6 somewhere else, import your production data in there and test the update before making it live in fact, it's probably better to update to 1.9.11 first just did it, seems to of worked ok :) neat again, i have no clue what version it was .... maybe even pre-1.9.6 *shrug* :) lphuberdeau: just checking I have run the script, now I check back all the files it updated. Do I have to create a patch file as well? yes... patch file is for people that upate Oh I am starting to get it! :) SVN: Commit by matwho :: r 14851 /trunk/db/convertscripts/ (5 files): [MOD] Now also runs PHP directly from command line without need to execute php via a server, if no host specified then runs php off comnd line. lphuberdeau: Upgrade just failed with 1 sql error SELECT patch_name FROM tiki_schema Table 'twdev1.tiki_schema' doesn't exist lphuberdeau: I think that is you@! :) most likely... when did that happen? just now, I blew my db away, rm local.php and ran tiki-insatll.php can see I am missing any important updates from SVN can = can not lphuberdeau: any ideas about my install error I have to look into it... doing 2 things at the same time already... (soon 3 because I have food coming up) :) matwho ... convertscripts related I would guess tiki_schema was just added to tiki.sql... if you installed before running the thing, it's left in an inconsistent state ok I will run it again and report back lphuberdeau: are you there? yes ok I checked and the table tiki_schema is in my db, but I got the error at install time is it your code in the installer? here is the thing... when you update, if tiki_schema is missing, it will take that into account and install the patches in the old way ok however, on clean install, it expects the table to be in, because we control the source this is a temporary problem in the transition ;) ok I will forget it - basic things on the new istall seem to work fine. :) lphuberdeau: Yellow card for blowing my updates away to tiki_2.0to3.0.sql without considering my feelings and letting me know when you did your merge :) Problem solved :) :) I made it before our discussion this morning fixed a few issues during our discussion I am very happy :) Yes very very happy it is much better the new way, tx. Just need to get rid of that silly script for tiki.sql do you read the devel list? lphuberdeau: the email one? yes SVN: Commit by matwho :: r 14854 /trunk/ (7 files in 2 dirs): [FIX][MOD] Added fields to tiki_user_mail_accounts and tiki_webmail_messages. Need this to go with previous commits. so yes, well I will admit I speed read some of them recently ok, because there are some messages about DB interop... which is why we still have that convertscript mess... hope but why cant we just run the php db conversion scripts at install time so tiki.sql is always the maste rand the others get created at install time. SVN: Commit by lphuberdeau :: r 14855 /trunk/lib/profilelib/ (installlib.php profilelib.php): [NEW] Webservice registration through profiles well we dont need to run the scripts, just include the php files the script calls. could be an option... I guess it is the way it is because no one bothered for the past 4+ years as always, feel free to make tiki a better world There are zillion things to do the last one we think about is not always the most important :-) I am tempted, but any problem with installs from then on will be "talk to MatWho" ;) mat, imagine what tiki would be like if you hadn't spent the last 5 years sailing and partying hehe hahahahahahahahahah +1 lph but MatWho, you will do such a good job that people will just find you to thank you :-) when we forget to run the convertscripts, it causes annoyance yes so lets delete it! lol well, finally I could create my categories by hand through phpmyadmin directly on that mysql 4.0.x server... so for tomorrow, everything I need seems to work. thanks for your hints and info in previous hours. And I hope you don't end up deleting yourselves on irc or elsewhere :-) cheers *deletes Say I wanted to add a keyword like bug98245 and it would go to a database and get stuff for me Is ther best way to do that something like {BUG()}98245{BUG}? and if it is, what is the name of that syntax "{BUG()}" So you want to display stuff from a tracker. negative, I want to create a wiki_plugin in 3.0 there are plugin aliases for this What's the syntax to use that in the wiki page? you can mostly define it... {BUG(id=2354)/} that's what I was thinking, is that the best way to go about it? There also is Trackerlist; I think you could filter on a bug number. http://doc.tikiwiki.org/tiki-index.php?page=PluginTrackerlist SEWilco2: I want to stress that I am not talking about the Tiki Trackers something like Bugzilla http://dev.tikiwiki.org/tiki-index.php?page=WebservicePlugin If you want to write a plugin, also see: http://dev.tikiwiki.org/tiki-index.php?page=Hello+World#To_create_a_new_plugin http://profiles.tikiwiki.org/Webservice+Handler lphuberdeau: Yeah I was looking at that That would be nice already works in trunk, if you write some script in whichever system to just dump the data in json/yaml Oh really? I need to check which version we are running :( 2.0 probably not trunk... that would be a little too bleeding edge for a production environment yeah cool, thanks for the input Narkster: Done for now? Looks like you have some reading to do. SEWilco2: I think I am just going to do something like {BUG(id=1)/} with a wiki plugin and log directly into the bugzilla database should take long *shoun't *typoes I need to do the opposite: push Images/Articles from my TikiWiki site out to other sites. For example, any scripts for uploading images to Picasa? sorry, I have nothing in the background to help you on this one ;) I suspect I'll have to write scripts to grab RSS data and use that to grab images for upload. uploading has nothing to do with RSS picasa probably has APIs you can call, but that's all custom code on tiki side I mean using a TW RSS feed from an Image Directory for the script to find uploaded images. The script would probably be a cron job, running outside the TW environment. oh that makes more sense I was hoping there already was a TW tool someplace which would help with the task, such as by being able to ask which images had been uploaded since a specific one. Quick question, when returning data from a wikiplugin_ can I have wiki markup in it? i.e.: Do I need to href a link or can I use the wiki bracket syntax? Narkster: I don't know, but you could look at an existing plugin. Offhand I'm not thinking of one which definitely would return a link. SEWilco2: oh sweet HREF and markup works Good, you have more flexibility at the cost of doing more formatting yourself. Someone's been busy: "a new type of spectroscopy that allows scientists to carry out broadband analysis of artificial atoms held at temperatures close to absolute zero" Oops, wrong channel.
