I manage to trigger an eql query error in the 2.1
I was trying to submit an article, but I used an apostrophe in the text of it, I guess these need to be escaped? chibaguy: snowrichard, no, there's no need to escape apostrophes in articles. snowrichard: well it gave a mysql error chibaguy: what was the error message, specifically.
? snowrichard: error in mysql syntax chibaguy: Nothing more specific? snowrichard: it snowed the query string with the article text in it
I could do it again and put it on a pastebin chibaguy: Well, I just posted an article in Tiki 2.2a, with no error.
Just to be sure, by article you mean like what is displayed at tiki-read_article.php?articleId=1, not a wiki page, right? snowrichard: well it might be related to my not being logged in when it gave the error?
because it just worked when I was logged in chibaguy: You mean submitting an article? Anonymous users can do that at your site? snowrichard: ok , I wasn't logged in, it tried to take the submission, but author column being null is what the error message was
so how to make submit article not be on the menu until someone is logged in? chibaguy: Ah. snowrichard: this was the basic enabled profile, I haven't tweaked much chibaguy: Well, I thought the menu items were already configured to display only to groups with the right permission.
This is done on the menu admin page (tiki-admin_menus.php). snowrichard: ok I'll check that chibaguy: On tiki-admin_menu_options.php?find=&menuId=42&offset=50&sort_mode=position_asc , there should be Permissions: tiki_p_read_article,tiki_p_submit_article for the Submit article link.

some themes have a center class already, so if the pagetitle is now also class="center", it gets centered. I'll have to fix that in the stylesheets if it stays as-is in the tpl.

Are you expecting phplayers to look a certain way? What are you expecting? lizi: wait a minute -: lizi tries to find a link lizi: http://themes.tikiwiki.org/tiki-index.php?page=Underground
like the menu on the left.
instead of this I get something windows explorer style
also if Ichange the phplayers id (wonder what that's for) to 44 instead of 42, then nothing but the black menu header is displayed SEWilco2: I see.. A menu with the top levels displayed and popups for the submenu. lizi: yes
what i get instead is this http://themes.tikiwiki.org/tiki-index.php?page=phplayersmenu+tree
a tree thingy SEWilco2: I've been using phplayers and haven't seen that format, so I think that's the "CSS menus (suckerfish" which I haven't tried.
lizi: Go to Admin>Features and under "User interface enhancement features" turn on "Css Menus (suckerfish)". lizi: ok i'll deactivate this then, and see how things go SEWilco2: NO! lizi: oh no
it's already on SEWilco2: Excuse the yelling. I didn't want you to disable what might be your only menu for accessing the options. sylvieg: merge on the way SEWilco2: Get the new menu working first, then tinker with the old. lizi: doesn't matter really, all the admin pages urls are in my ff cache :P SEWilco2: Actually, it's a good idea to leave the existing menu as a module but change the permission to Admin only if you want to hide it from normal users.
OK, back to your problem.
There are several steps involved in setting up custom menus. What you see there is the default Application Menu, I think. lizi: well, guess what, i did it :D
the code is {phplayers id=42 type=vert}
for some reason the id 44 in the doc doesn't work
also I thought I had tried that earlier on, but I guess my ff cache played a trick on me. SEWilco2: OK, good. lizi: anyways... Do you know what these ids are for ? SEWilco2: I think that ID 42 is the predefined Application Menu.
Other IDs are assigned when you go to Admin>Menus and define a custom menu. lizi: well, I am using a custom menu
oh no. using a custom module. which is different i guess SEWilco2: With a custom module you have to tell it "Show text 'Our Location' and link to URL 'http://example.com/whatever' in position 4 of the menu'
(fortunately you don't use text, you fill in the blanks in Admin>Menus) lizi: ok. Well, thanks for your help :) SEWilco2: In that URL you gave as an example, the menu options don't look like those in the Application Menu, so it is a custom menu. lizi: btw, you wouldn't have any experience in seo ?
:) SEWilco2: After you create a menu in Admin>Menus you then can go to Admin>Modules and (at the bottom) define it as a module.
No SEO experience per se. I have a code fragment for one SEFURL solution for TW.
I think TW is still missing some SEO tools, such as emitting Categories or Tags as page keywords. lizi: I'm only interested in the nice urls to be honest.
I have activated the SEO in TW and the htaccess files, but apache seems not to do anything with them for some reason SEWilco2: Yeah, at present all you can do is enable the Search Engine Friendly URL option, although that is a partial solution at the moment. lizi: I think I'm going to just paste the code in httpd.conf :D SEWilco2: You probably need to change Apache config to make it allow the rewrite...let me find my note on that. PS|bot: SVN: Commit by sylvieg :: r 15185 /trunk/ (16 files in 6 dirs): [MRG] Automatic merge, branches/2.0 15013 to 15184 lizi: it says something in the doc about AllowOverride All
which i put in my vhost conf
though... I didnt check the main apache conf which might be overriding it SEWilco2: http://doc.tikiwiki.org/tiki-index.php?page=Rewrite%20Rules&structure=Documentation
I think "AllowOverride All" in <FilesMatch> is needed in order for htaccess to be obeyed.
The vhost should have its own FilesMatch section, and that is enough.
I'm using vhosts and I don't think I had to alter the main config for this.
Only incantation I haven't figured out is how to properly map http://1.2.3.4/vhost-dir to the vhost rules (that's the suggested backdoor for older browsers).
