lq_570: I do have one other unrelated question which I haven't been able to find an answer to -- We are using TikiWiki for collaboration among the people in our company. We also intend to use it for collaboration with clients. What I'm wondering is, from a security standpoint, is it better to use multiple wikis (ie. one for each client) or use categories and groups to restrict clients' access to areas of the wiki? Or doe

lq_570: sorry, I forgot to say that I'm not concerned about the interaction between the 2 spaces

SEWilco2: lq_570: From a security standpoint, better to use separate databases for internal and external data. Same for code.
lq_570: Security concepts don't care if TikiWiki permissions presently work. If you want to avoid problems due to bad permissions, separate the data.
lq_570: So as no interaction is needed, just set up separate databases and separate copies of TikiWiki code.
That's one for all clients, and one for internal. Whether to put all clients in same database is up to you.
lq_570: If there is little damage if clients accidentally see the wrong info, you can use one database for all of them and depend upon permissions.
lq_570: If clients need to be isolated, or if you need to be able to completely remove one client's data, then one database per client is safer.
CIA-51: tikiwiki: 03sylvieg * r16436 10/trunk/templates/tiki-plugin_blocked.tpl: [FIX] indetation + take away one </div>
SEWilco2: lq_570: (When one client is "removed", that TW only needs to be removed from public access -- the data and site could still be available internally)
lq_570: Although things get complex if you have many clients. The more clients and the smaller the data per client, the more benefits of keeping them all in one database.
lq_570: SEWilco2: hypothetically, if there was a hacker at one of our clients, it would be better to have that client information in a separate wiki -- it would be then harder for them to access other information -- am I right?
SEWilco2: lq_570: For some values of hypotheses, yes. The level of difficulty depends upon many things.
lq_570: OK, thanks for your help
