chibaguyIs it valid to put a div inside an li? [11:30]
CIA-71tikiwiki: 03jonnybradley * r17454 10/branches/3.0/styles/transitions/2.0to3.0.css:
tikiwiki: [ENH] Added display:block for dates on blog list modules so they appear on a new line (instead of <br />s in the tpl)

jonnybi realised i should be collaborating better ;)
horray! new underground, thanks
[11:55]
chibaguyHeh, maybe successful collaboration is mainly a matter of lucky timing.
Anyway, it was me that jumped in on that module thing.
(rashly)
Yeah, I like underground quite a bit. The top of the page could be a bit tricky to get the site logo in, etc.
I need to test all the mods themes' handling of Look & Feel again to make sure they're pretty robust.
[11:56]
jonnybi'll have a play - my only reservation was the huge lefthand margin (on a small screen)
what do we do about mods.tw.o? i'll update the packages.txt file (it's on my list) but then we need a grown-up, right?
[11:59]
chibaguyYou get a huge lefthand margin in underground? [12:00]
***wikiman has quit IRC ("ChatZilla 0.9.84 [Firefox 3.0.7/2009021910]") [12:01]
chibaguyAbout the packages info text files, I was meaning to do that as part of the theme updates...
But I don't know about the version filtering in admin mods.
Or whatever was added recently there.
[12:01]
Ah, the relatively large margin is because the original Underground design uses only two columns so there is extra whitespace available.
I kind of 'optimized' the margins for a tiki center-and-right-column layout. (Maybe three-column spacing would be a good theme option.)
(Similarly, Planetfall is weird because the original design has a center-left-right column arrangement. So I want to do a more-normal left-center-right layout as a theme option.)
[12:11]
jonnyb, can a theme option have template files? [12:18]
jonnybsorry (on other machine) - um, at the moment options don't have templates
i think templates are bad - lead to big maintenance etc, so try and avoid (but i knopw there are limits to css)
[12:19]
chibaguyyep, I agree, but the case I'm thinking of involves major relocations of things. [12:21]
jonnybhmmm? [12:21]
chibaguyI mean moving Planetfall's columns around.
It's a table layout.
Nasty to begin with, so what the heck.
Well, it's not a high priority.
[12:21]
jonnybcan't we (by which i mean "you") make all these table layouts share one set of tpls? I know we've discussed it on devel list, but how much work would it really be?
meanwhile i'll svn up my mods
[12:23]
chibaguyI found that different table-requiring layouts tended to differ from each other, so maybe a single table-using tiki.tpl isn't really possible (or anyway easy).
For instance, the Faulkner theme needs even a nested, second table in order to get all the backgrounds when side columns are hidden, etc.
[12:24]
jonnybsadly i don't have time to investigate at the mo - but i suspect that the differences (in themes with a top "bar" and 3 columns, centre one fluid) must be really similar in structure, no? [12:26]
chibaguyDark Shine has the top bar way up at the page top...
Basically, you're right -- a lot of designs fit that layout (kubrick, etc.). But a significant number don't, it seems.
[12:26]
jonnybyou're familiar with csszengarden.com i presume? (grandma/eggs, excuse me ;) ) [12:27]
chibaguyyep [12:27]
jonnybi know it's only one html page - which is cheating [12:28]
chibaguyAlso Tiki brings some challenges such as wide center-column content that the design needs to flex around....
I look enviously at designs that can get away with tiling one image downward to create both side margins and the content div backgrounds. ;-)
[12:31]
oh, luciash points out the error in my module commit. [12:40]
jonnyboh? [12:42]
chibaguyI added a div inside a link.
To go that route, it should have been a span.
or as he suggests, just give small class=description.
[12:42]
***akshi has joined #tikiwiki [12:44]
jonnybyup, i'd go for span - most flexible and semantically neutral [12:46]
chibaguybut to get the <br />, display:block would have to be added to .description in stylesheets. [12:46]
jonnybsome people might not want it to be "small"
yup

SEWilco2Yup, Fiji is "near" Tonga. I think franck is different from FrankP_german. [19:13]
luciashyes [19:14]
SEWilco2Tsunami warning includes Fiji. http://www.prh.noaa.gov/ptwc/messages/pacific/2009/pacific.2009.03.19.182924.txt
Hawaii: No Tsunami warning, although some effects are possible, per NOAA PTWC.
Australia and New Zealand participants: good luck with your Internet links.

SEWilco2Try to do to what? [22:21]
sylviegin your last commit [22:21]
SEWilco2Hide all but a single file's info. I don't see any tool for viewing info about a single file, equivalent to imagegal image info. [22:22]
sylviegso you type the url manually or it is linked somewhere? [22:23]
SEWilco2I'm about to link to it from slideshow. When I puzzle out what happened to the slideshow JS. [22:24]
sylviegah ok .. unfinished commit - no pb [22:24]
.... (idle for 15mn)
SEWilco2Not so much unfinished as a new feature. Although should be rewritten to fetch only the specific file's info. [22:39]
filegal slideshow broken. Someone deleted lib/slideshow/slideshow.rc1.packed.js but is required by templates/file_gallery_slideshow.tpl [22:44]
