Can anyone help me out? I want to install tikiwiki and have it run my whole site. It's my understanding that I have to copy all the files into /public_html/ but that makes me feel dirty since it will be hard to remove at a later date. If I install to /public_html/tiki, it will be easier to manage but I will have /tiki in my url. What do people do? lq_934: if your server is linux and you have ssh access you can symlink a dir next to public_html/ or you can do subdir and redirect or do URL rewrite when using apache http server Thanks for the reply. It's a linux server, so I will check out the ssh. I should have thought about symlink. So people normally install to a subdir? yep, but it's not that hard to move later usually test site goes to subdir and then it becomes public moved to site root or relinked oh. So I am wasting my time trying to reinstall. I installed to public_html/foo, so can I rename it to public_html/bar and all will be joyus? mosty probably yes :) Ok, thank you for the prompt help. you can try rename ~/public_html/foo to ~/mywebs/bar and make a symlink called ~/public_html linked to ~/mywebs/bar then rename or move, as you wish (your apache server just needs to be configured to follow symlinks i guess) My linux fu is pretty week, I haven't used it since I was developing for the PS2 and the devkits were linux only. Totally forgot about symlinks. I see my host has redirects. Which would you use, the symlink or redirects? symlinks are easier for me :) lq_934: : don't like to feel dirty? :-) tikiwiki: 03chibaguy * r17629 10/mods/trunk/themes/ (24 files in 19 dirs): [FIX] Replaced module toggle img float with positioning to prevent box content from moving around on hover; Eatlon directory name corrected. hi can someone tell me how to enable anonymous editing in tikiwiki? nikhilodeon: give anonymous tiki_p_edit tikiwiki: 03luciash * r17630 10/branches/3.0/templates/ (636 files in 15 dirs): removal of the START and END of tpl inclusion comments, thanks to sylvie for better solution tikiwiki: 03chibaguy * r17631 10/mods/trunk/Packages/themes-andreas09_tiki_3.info.txt: [NEW] Package info file for Andreas09. I just tested. what theme do you see that in? thenews i didn't refresh though It's ok here. Maybe old file at your server? or browser cache? i refreshed now browser cache, still the same 2 things to try yet ;) 1 left 0 left, still the same :-/ FF3 I was testing with Opera. I'll look in FF3. hmm, there's some weird side effect too when hovering the vert menus, i get horizontal scrollbars appearing and then vanishing again after onmouseout http://zukakakina.com/tw3/Shadowbox_gallery - z-index ok in FF3 (FF3/windox xp) I don't see any scrollbar problems, either... ?? ah, sorry, the scrollbar weirdness is when you have long menus and the menu goes out of the viewport, then the scrollbar logically appears but the z-index problem remains (tested in two FF3) FF3/linux it's the horizontal css menu The z-index numbers are ok, as far as that goes. Maybe a FF bug or something. ? I checked the shadowbox div z-index and put the menus below it. tikiwiki: 03luciash * r17635 10/branches/3.0/styles/strasa.css: [FIX] white bg for strasa document content on printing page chibaguy: it happens with any theme, strasa too Yes, I wouldn't expect the theme to matter, if there's a problem. The menu z-indexes are set in css/cssmenus.css not in the theme css. But I don't see that problem in any of my browsers. Do you see the problem at my site? can you test on my test ground with your FF to be sure ? http://test.ground.cz/tiki/3.0/tiki-index.php?page=ShadowBox chibaguy: i don't see the problem on zukakakina, maybe you forgot to commit something Yep, a problem on your site. it's on my localhost and on my test site too, so i believe there's no glitch on my side was 17633. btw, the first image at zuka stopped showing in shadowbox This is frustrating. The first image still works for me. i'm at 17635 at both oh, sorry, it works for me now too, maybe i was too fast and clicked on it before hadowbox initialized sorry for frustrating you ;) No, I don't blame you. It's just that there are so many variables to deal with. :-) can you do svn status --ignore-externals ? to see if you haven't forgotten any file to commit ? Anyway, FF/Firebug shows that the cssmenu_horiz at your site is still at z-index: 2000. I reduced that in 17633. weeeird ..to 800. Shadowbox is at 999. must be cached at your browser too, when you see it so hmm, cleared ff browser cache and I still see z-index: 2000. chibaguy: i don't see any z-index change between current and 17632 when i do svn diff -r 17632 css/cssmenus.cs s or what file ? chibaguy: are you sure it got commited ? chibaguy: for sure it was not in 17633 tikiwiki: 03chibaguy * r17636 10/branches/3.0/css/cssmenus.css: [FIX] Menu z-indexes too high (shadowbox conflict). chibaguy: you only thought you're commiting that ;) aaah, finally :) Sorry, luciash np, thank you, it happens I must have commited it; the commit comment says I did ;-) "everything's gonna be all right..." ;) tikiwiki: 03pkdille * r17637 10/branches/3.0/lib/searchlib.php: [FIX] calendar search: wrong field. true a pity you don't have svn at zukakakina or you would recognize it soon s/or/then/ that's right. I should look around. yes install wamp there shouldn't be too difficult Yeah, I have xampp installed already. but don't always have it running. ah hi everyone i have watched the idea list of tikiwiki i am very much attracted by the idea "Theme/color scheme generator" jacky: the ml ? sorry luciash, i did not understand by ml? jacky: it's only one message there so far iirc and it is practically dead mailing list jacky: but yes, it's good idea but it will be not in 3.0 yet, maybe next version u mean this idea is not in GSoc 09? what idea list you mean, i thought you talk about mailing list tikiwiki-ideas :-) yes GSoC is focused on version 4.0 anyway i am talking about the ideal list of tikiwiki http://dev.tikiwiki.org/GSOC+Ideas+2009 ah, yup, that's it does version 4.0 already have this functionality do you want to apply for it ? we're in beta process of 3.0 now ;) ok 3.0 should be released in april ok see the roadmap somewhere on tw.o so the idea "Theme/color scheme generator" still to be implemented in version 4? am i right? or it has already implemented? jacky: sorry i didn't understood at first sight what you mean by tikiwiki idea list ok jacky: right, nobody yet started developing it afaik ? = as far as i know ok ok jacky: there was some test by some dev but it didn't continue jacky: wanna see that ? yeah so can you pls tell me where should i start to implement this? or atleast can take some idea how it can be implemented please read this first maybe: http://themes.tikiwiki.org/TikiThemeGenerator yeah these are the link which are given on the idea page itself i have gone though this link and related link also but i haven't worked on tikiwiki till now to know the tikiwiki better what should i do? jacky: best would be if you first install it and play with it ;) okie I think to implement something like a theme/color generator, you'd have to know Smarty template coding and javascript and css pretty well. can you get the latest version from SVN repository ? yeah i can Jonny Bradley is also very interested in this, but is busy now with the Tikiwiki 3 beta. (like the rest of us) jacky: you can try branch 3.0 first but start developing on trunk please if you do He'd be a good person to contact about that idea. okie yep, so jacky: first install and play a little while with tiki, explore the code, learn smarty syntax if you don't know yet okie luciash jacky: second step subscribe to the tikiwiki-developers mailing list and contact the other developers okie jacky: then we can tell you more and give commit access eventually okie luciash tikiwiki: 03chibaguy * r17638 10/branches/3.0/ (styles/strasa.css templates/tiki.tpl): [FIX] IE7 fixes. strasa col2 is still missing in ie6 at least in my multiple-IEs version errr, in the normal version too... suckerfish menus are looking better in IE6, but they flicker as the mouse moves up and down menu items.... apparently when moving from one li a to the next luciash: you said "you can try branch 3.0 first but start developing on trunk please if you do" some time before". what is trunk in it? and did you mean version 3.0 of tikiwiki by branch 3.0 trunk is main development of SVN branch 3.0 is development branch of soon to be released 3.0 version okie thanks luciash q: how to delete (remove) a plugin alias that i created by mistake? i see how to deactivate it, but i want to completely remove it tikiwiki: 03chibaguy * r17639 10/branches/3.0/styles/strasa.css: [FIX] 100% body height caused right column to not display in IE6. chibaguy: wow, good catch yeah, I removed two-thirds of strassa.css before finding that... commented out all the most likely suspects and then started on the rest of the file :-| chibaguy: about moving themes.tw.o - I have been working all this week on getting an IPSec-Tunnel working to the new setup to be able to easer debug, when our Database locks up... ... that's up and running now (not perfect yet, but usable)... so I didn't find time to work on anything else... ... and on the weekend I'm occupied... ... can we decide on one evening next week to meet here and debug the hell out of the new themes? ;) Otherwise I fear, I won't manage to approach you next week.. :P ok, probably any day is ok for me, so at your convenience.... about new themes, do you mean the ones in branch 3.0? alright, cool... then let's think aobut time zones...?! Or others? oh, sorry, I mean themes.tw.o 8) we need to move it rather soon - only one month to go chibaguy: sorry, i feel guilty about that no dinner for luciash tonight :P ah, I see. Well, don't worry. I don't think there's too much pressure to update. It will be good to update of course, but the site gets kind of casual use. So it will be good for testing, etc. yeah, sure, but it should move to the new server and I'd like to have that done rather soon to find any bigger errors before the old server gets closed so I'll just approach you next week again ;) ok, find me here or email me when you like. alright, cool :) did you btw get my e-mail about So Flute? yeah, that was cool. :-) ok, great :) hallo Amette always nice to know new music heya Yoni :) finally There is not a lot of differences between ff3 and ie8 polom ? amette_: any idea wassup with image files like http://dev.tikiwiki.org/img/wiki_up/tiki_screen_example.png ??? they should show up on http://dev.tikiwiki.org/tiki-index.php?page=TemplatesBestPractices but give interesting loops or wth luciash: sorry, no idea...
