ahh. that works.. it's when you manually create a user that it lets you enter a user without an email address.
There should be a way to either validate the user manually even if you havent entered an email address for the user. (Ie. the admin interface to create users should check if email validation is turned on.. and either make you enter an email address.. or let you manually validate). Unless you can manually validate and I just havent seen that option yet.
Hmm also there doesnt seem to be a way to "resend" a validation email? so if for some reason a user deletes their validation email or it gets spamfiltereaten..  they cant rerequest one.. and i cant manually validate them.
I guess I really should submit these type of things somewhere else other than mindlessly typing them into the irc channel :)
anyone got experience with MyISAM deadlocking? Yeah, it shouldn't be possible by design of MyISAM - but we do occassionally have some kind of this in the dev.tw.o database, virtually killing the DB and taking the site offline...

hmm just realised in tw3.0 all perms are off (except one) for registered users.. makes sense I guess.. but now I've got to decide what the defaults should be :) eek.
Wish there was a description somewhere of each perm. most are obvious but some like "Can edit dynamic variables" dont mean alot to me yet

hmm actually yeah I think I misunderstood tiki_p_admin_wiki as I couldnt see a create page option. I'm used to 2.x having the create page in the left column.. (i didnt check inside editing a wiki page with (( )) )

hmm somehow my 3.0 install saw my 2.x install and now fckeditor is half fcked. when using fckeditor in 3.0 it's putting errors in my http logs pointing to the fkeditor lib for 2.x
i incidentally cant login to my 2.x install anymore (or register accts). weird.

ya. I installed 2.x to /tiki/ and 3.x to /tiki3/ and bother are using different databases (selected at install)

looks like the whole problem starts in tiki-filter-base
it doesn't seem to detect any of the working directories
