chibaguy: I'm curious to see what the experience is in a fresh install. Seems like people had different experiences laterly with 3.0 svn.
spoonypjk: luciash: Thanks for that. Yeah I eventually figured it out from an old forum post. Hadnt done a tw upgrade before as this is the first time id used it (well actually I had an old tw running for about a year.. but never updated it as it was off the net).
chibaguy: so I'm installing into an empty directory and db.
luciash: spoonypjk: u just hit the upgrade button there
chibaguy: good idea
spoonypjk: Im really going to have to pull my finger out and find time to file a couple bug reports. a heap of things are better though.
chibaguy: well, this will be at a hosted domain, so pretty typical for one type of user.
luciash: Beestje: thank you for looking into it and closing the bugs on dev.tw.o
spoonypjk: It would be nice to have a summarised list of files that have been completely removed out of the release
Untarring the files over the old ones is great.. but in the changelog I noticed a few KIL's that probably remove physical files.. but theyll always be there unless theyre manually removed. (or themes for that matter).
Some of the KIL's are slightly ambiguous to me as I'm not intimately familiar with the file structure of tw.. so even if I looked at the KIL's I couldnt tell entirely which files have been removed.
luciash: spoonypjk: better practice is to untarr in a new directory and bove there only the files you cretaed in previous version
s/bove/move
spoonypjk: thats probably true.. I'd also then have to go through fixing any perms that had been changed, moving any uploaded files.. .. is there anything else that I could overlook besides theme changes etc?..
luciash: usually they're only in files/ img/wiki_up/ and your styles/<yourstyle>* and templates/styles/<yourstyle>*
spoonypjk: no temporary or cached files? they could all just be recreated..
right..
luciash: no need to copy cache files
spoonypjk: I'll copy and paste these notes so I remember that next time.
Beestje: @luciash : no problem, I'm just closing bugs that are outdated and ones that are clearly resolved by now. When I have a better understanding I'll try to fix more :)
spoonypjk: can you really only view one item on a google map with trackers at a time? unless you have like a tracker with 10 or 20 or 50 (or whatever) googlemap fields.. and treat each "tracker item" as a map with whatever amount of fields you define?

chibaguy: Beestje, or Beestje|Lunch, I'd like to get an upgrade path put together for these older themes, using *litecss, like with tikinewt, so just a small css file is needed for, say, the veryorange look.
luciash: chibaguy: i think it must be some combination of JS conflict (i have pretty much almost everything all including all jQuery stuff)

(in the case of my test anyway)
luciash: can i check it out ?
your test
chibaguy: yep, just a second..
spoonypjk: heya.. im trying to figure out why one particular page is all screwed up..
the gmap locator screws up all the menus on the left as well as the login box on the right etc..
if the style is fine everywhere else. where should i look for the problem.. the actualy tiki-gmap_locator.php file?
or the css?
chibaguy: spoonypjk, that sounds like maybe a mismatch in div tags (<div> </div>).
spoonypjk: i guess i should check if its effecting other styles..
sylvieg: luciash: ? your fix on translation is incorrect
spoonypjk: in the style itself?
or the php file?
chibaguy: in the tpl file
sylvieg: it is far more difficult - the watcher is done define at this time
spoonypjk: ah
luciash: sylvieg: ah ? it seems to work for me...
chibaguy: yeah, spoonypjk, good catch.
spoonypjk: looking at the tpl atm cheers chibaguy.
chibaguy: familiar problem comes up from time to time
luciash: sylvieg: would it be possible with {tr} in template ? (language by watcher)
chibaguy: sometimes there's a missing tag, sometimes one is on the wrong side of an /if , etc.
spoonypjk: comparing it against a standard tpl at the moment.
sylvieg: luciash: perhaps we can introduce a param to {tr}
but even with that ... it will not work because the tracker message is prepared in the php code
the message must be structrured to be translated.... it will be better to do this in 4...
luciash: sylvieg: i noticed there's already some tpls for some notification cases used
in templates/mail/
chibaguy: spoonypjk, looks like an extra </div> at line 37 of tiki-gmap_locator.tpl
spoonypjk: chiba. ah cheers. will check that spot out.
hadnt picked it yet :)
chibaguy: line 36 looks mysterious to me, but I guess div id="map" (not even a space between opening and closing tags) gets content from somewhere...
spoonypjk: ahh awesome.. good spot.
line 36 is the same as line 6 in tiki-gmap_usermap.tpl
so thats probably fine.
still trying to sort out a few other issues with that locator.. but that one fixed helps heaps.
hey chibaguy could in tiki-gmap_locator.tpl is there a reason why theres a commented out load(); on line 75? looks weird.
chibaguy: yes, also " {literal}{{/literal}" appears quite a few times....
spoonypjk: probably starting to explain why its not quite working
lines 19 and 21 seem to have the same "name" in the submit too. but I could be wrong with that being a prob.

sylvieg: SEWilco2: I am not sure about your commit - your are changing the behavior of the category perm
CIA-46: tikiwiki: 03lphuberdeau * r17919 10/branches/3.0/ (3 files in 3 dirs): [FIX] Rebuild patch list after clean install to make sure they are all recorded during reinstall and add DB out of date notification in admin panel
SEWilco2: sylvieg: It is a bug fix. Category perms were overriding unrelated permissions such as calendar editing, blog posting, and I think also filegal availability.
sylvieg: The fix simply requires a categorized object to also be accessible through user's Group permissions....
... so you can't see edit icons unless you have edit permission for that kind of object.
sylvieg: no really the rule is if an object has a category and this category has a perm, the erm of this category is considered - not the global one
beause this object has a categ with perm
the problem is taht categ perms are not enough detailed
if we image tiki-index using user_has_perm_on_object. If a user has no tiki_p_view but has tiki_view_categorized on a categ - he will not be able to see anymore a page with this categ
SEWilco2: in fact you rolled back one of my commit 9869 oct 29 07
FIX]perms: fix no tiki_p_edit, tiki_p_admin/view/edit_categ for a categ and a group, the user of the group must be able to edit the page. The rule is if the page is categorized, do not look further , propage the categ perm
SEWilco2: it will be great to know which action exactly - because it can be missing some tiki_p_edit_categorized params to user_has_perm_on_object
I fixed a couple in 3 - but there are probably more

CIA-46: tikiwiki: 03sylvieg * r17920 10/branches/3.0/ (5 files in 2 dirs): [FIX]perm: tiki_p_blog_post, tiki_p_add_events, tiki_p_upload_images, tiki_p_remove are more related to tiki_p_edit_categorized than tiki_p_view_categorized
sylvieg: SEWilco2: if you backport this commit and the other ones I did before of the same kind you should not have problem
does somebody know about translation? in the translation feature the translation is at a substring page level?
nkoth3: sylvieg: what do you mean "substring page"
SEWilco2: sylvieg: I think I saw the ticket for that commit, but I think you had added other code in that.
sylvieg: does translation identify a part of a text or not - I think so but never go into
SEWilco2: sylvieg: The tiki_p_*_categ* rule works fine for the read/edit permissions, but not other kinds of permissions (tiki_p_add_event is neither a Wiki read nor edit).
sylvieg: I am looking to know how difficult it is to add a note feature like word - comment attached to a part of text...
SEWilco2: sylvieg: (sorry for the delay, I got entangled with support and meeting activities IRL)
nkoth3: I see.
translation records something called translation bits
sylvieg: it will be great to be able to localize comment on a text
nkoth3: grep for bits
SEWilco2: sylvieg: I do not understand the full meaning of your "if you backport..." statement.
nkoth3: sylvieg, maybe you should continue with SEWilco2 first
SEWilco2: Agree. Would be nice to annotate anywhere on anything.
sylvieg: yes it is what I think - so we can probably reuse the 'bits' to atach a comment
nkoth3: then if you have question on "bits" let me know
sylvieg: so my question ;-) can we reuse bits to localize comments on a page?
SEWilco2: nkoth3 I can untangle the threads if they're labeled of different contexts. Thanks. Depends on everyone's typing and reading speeds. :-)
caralluna|away: Hi ppl :-)
I'd like to use two different menu IDs in the menu bar. Is this possible?
nkoth3: sylvieg: problem with that is that the 'bits' make be too big, or not in the right spot for your comment?
s/make/may
caralluna|away: I think you have to make 2 menus. Are you referring to the top menu?
caralluna|away: yes I am. Check www.hansrune.com. The menu there now is the first of them, but I'd like to add another menu to the end atfer Contact, but that menu with another ID.
sylvieg: nkoth3: ?? comment is attached to a bit
nkoth3: sylvieg: oh you mean - as part of an edit
then it would make sense
caralluna|away: I tried to specify two Menu IDs in Look&feel -> General Layout -> Top Bar, but it didn't seem to like it
nkoth3: But in word, you can comment on anything
any selection...
caralluna|away: I have no preference on using phplayer menus or CSS Menu if that has something to say
nkoth3: caralluna|away - I know that was not possible in 2.x, but in 3.0 anyone knows if that changed?
sylvieg: css are more flexible
caralluna|away: I could use custom code, but it seems it is not placed on the menu line
SEWilco2: I have to change location. bbl
nkoth3: I remember seeing a feature request for menus to be nestable, i.e. one menu referring to another
caralluna|away: Otherwise it's no biggie, I could just add it to the one already there and controlling it with separate rights
***: SEWilco2 has quit IRC (Remote closed the connection)
caralluna|away: Yeah, that would be nice :-)
nkoth3: well, menu items have rights that can be set for each
item
caralluna|away: I know :-)
I would just have preferred them seprate
nkoth3: :)
caralluna|away: Ok, my body says time to find the bed ... I'll see any new answers tomorrow ...
nite ppl, and thanks :-)
