sec, let me check that out ricks99_: like score and karma? jcyrisse: well, yes, i think so... xavi: jcyrisse: search for score feature also, on doc.tw.o jcyrisse: ok
and long time no talk to...i have been working too hard :)
xavi...yes that looks like what i am looking for...i think ricks99_: u can assign a specific "score" for specific activiies xavi: keep in contact, then, since we (in several exchange markets in Barcelona/Catalonia) want to use it once some tiny things get fixed
e.g. currencies can not be deleted right now, and transactions cannot be edited/reverted, etc. jcyrisse: so, is there a place where i can see this demonstrated? xavi: but double check the score feature, because it might be what you are looking for instead (they are different features)
jcyrisse: not for production, yet jcyrisse: got it xavi: we (I, mostly) are using it internally here: http://intercanvis.net ricks99_: userlist on tw.o shows score
http://tikiwiki.org/tiki-list_users.php?offset=0&find=&sort_mode=score_desc xavi: to record transactions (time invested) against the admin (which is me, so far, also)
some communities used to exchange time for goods, in exchange markets jcyrisse: yes...that is kinda what i am looking for
to encourage use...so they get something for their time or interaction that they can use to either purchace something, or gain something on the site xavi: ei! welcome jcyrisse then! I'm not the only one aiming to resurrect that old mod! :-)
jcyrisse: where are you from?
or your community/group where you want to use this type of feature? jcyrisse: i am based out of texas...my site is http://www.cytopathnet.org xavi: jcyrisse: errrrr, you should upgrade your site asap: "Tikiwiki v2.0RC4", to latest 2.x (2.4 right now) -> security holes patched jcyrisse: yes...last time i had some issues with my upgrade...i am in process of doing that today xavi: :-) jcyrisse: lol...i am the group of ONE... xavi: I did write some hours ago the page "upgrade 2.x to 2.latest"
see it under http://doc.tikiwiki.org/Upgrade
HTH jcyrisse: k
the score system is good...in order though to encourage use other than just a score, if the contributor can earn currency to either by something online elsewhere, or to be able to purchase something on CYTOPATHNET i think it might be more successful...or at least maybe more encouraing xavi: sylvieg , FYI, at Hello+World tutorial, I see: "missing page for plugin INCLUDE"
jcyrisse: +1 sylvieg: dev.tw is very slow ***: caralluna has joined #tikiwiki ricks99_: in 3.x, when viewieng poll results, what does "with span consideration" mean?
nothing in docs -: SEWilco2 thinks "span consideration" is what a bridge architect does. ricks99_: he he he

I begin to suspect firefox - if I have too many open windows ... -: xavi mises mibbit translation features...., since he can't find them on pidgin SEWilco2: Oh, I'm not logged in. .. and logged in I also got a response. sylvieg: thanks for your answers guys xavi: np SEWilco2: me francais no existencie. sylvieg: if one day I speak English correctly I stop to work on tw and become a math teacher ;-) xavi: :-) ***: Lucy_ has quit IRC (Read error: 110 (Connection timed out)) xavi: sylvieg, luckily you speak "php". I need help (newbie here):
if you can, see this: http://pastebin.com/m21bc520d
the feature $feature_search_default_adv is as "n" in the database
I see the module search_box, without the checkbox selected. fine sylvieg: first rule ... when you do not understand - indentation xavi: I search through the empty field for searching, in that search box module, without clicking on the checkbox, and when I see the result in tiki-searchresults.php, then the checkbox in the module search_box appear as checked (!)
ok, I'll apply the first rule :-) sylvieg: checked="" is strange - could it be checked="checked"
nooo xavi: ok, I'll test without anything sylvieg: wondering about checked="" xavi: yes, that was it
:-)
ok, next step, how to add a checkbox to some admin panel... I'll keep reading the Hello+World :-) sylvieg: checked="" is the same than checked="checked" xavi: ok
oh well, I stil haev something wrong somewhere. I changed the value in the db for that pref from "n" to "y", but no change... (cleared cache)
ok, the full code for my hacked search_box is here: http://pastebin.com/d34679cfa sylvieg: so you want your setting in the page content to be shown in the module? SEWilco2: sylvieg: I guess if you start to speak English correctly we'll have to confuse you to prevent you stopping work on TW. :-) franck: sylvieg: check #tikiwiki-monitor if a tw site is down sylvieg: you probably should use $smarty.request.boolean
boolena for the php world can not be known like this in the tpl world ***: marclaporte has joined #tikiwiki xavi: sylvieg? mmmm, I don't understand the need for {if $boolean eq 'y'}. I took it from the logins from search_page_new
ok, I'll try wothout the {if $boolean eq 'n'} franck: sylvieg: we keep a watch on tw site on #tikiwiki-monitor sylvieg: the boolean is set in the php right? SEWilco2: Does nagios mention all the names in the channel so everyone's message flags get turned on? sylvieg: so either you need in the php to smarty->assign the boolean to be known in the tpl world
either - because I think it is the case, it is in the URL - so you can use the short cut $smarty.request.boolena ***: SEWilco2 has quit IRC ("Leaving.") jcyrisse: how do i know if my database is updated?

... in order to make: by default: look at the setting $feature_search_default_adv in the database
if yes, show the checkbox as checked, if not, then not sylvieg: 2 separate problems 1/ no idea - I run the upgrade script each time I have doubt 2 usually hosting prefix user /db name with soething
s/e/eq
line 5 xavi: arrrgh, you are right sylvieg: s/boolena/smarty.request.boolean xavi: thanks, trying sylvieg: did you implement somewhere feature_search_default_adv
either it must be a prefs
prefs.feature_search_default_adv
or it must be smarty->assign somewhere xavi: no, just learning...
I wrote it as prefs.feature.... but it didn't work. so that I removed the prefs sylvieg: ok - to define a prefs you have a couple of steps to do..
but do you need a prefs?
is it not because boolean is set xavi: well, marclaporte wanted this advanced search and help as by default to be optional ***: danopia has joined #tikiwiki xavi: I comitted in trunk in way in which is not optional sylvieg: ah! in the module box xavi: yes
well, I'll try again tomorrow.... it's late here (bed time). thanks for feedback, sylvieg, I'll try again tomorrow evening probably -: xavi is slow learner... :-) sylvieg: and I have to update Hello worl - not sync with 2.0
