hello tiki world
i'm having trouble installing tw 3.0... -- can anyone help?
i'm updating from 2.3 to 3.0. everything worked well until i get this message when trying to enter the fresh updated wiki: 
"Fatal error: Call to a member function query() on a non-object in /var/kunden/webs/hipertipo/HipertipoCom-3.0/lib/init/tra.php on line 87"

having a bunch of trouble with 3.0
1.  look and feel prefs all messed in current theme, and cant change it
2.  text are and plg-ins admin panel returns 
white screen of death

ikeco: did you upgrade an older version, or install fresh?

could prolly fix most problem if admin panels all worked
what theme is being used currently?

you mean the theme named "default"?
you can try this url: tiki-switch_theme.php?theme=thenews.css 
I'm so having issues that I can't solve myself with my tiki :(
or some other 3.0 bundled theme

ikeco: I don't know what to suggest other than clearning the site cache, browser cache and logging out and then back in.
Skyriderz: yes, I see no menus also.
Skyriderz: what if you activate the default menu? Does it show ok?

I've set that one to the right
that shows all the "my page", "admin" , etc
oh, ok, so anonymous visitors don't see it, I assume.
well, double-check that the ESF menu's id (the original one that Tiki gave it) is used in the module that's supposed to contain it.
Do the anonymous needs some kind of access to see it?
normally that menu is visible to anonymous by default.

ID has been set to 43
In the ESF menu:
{menu id=43}{phplayers id=43}
Menu ID under menu's: 43
Home page (first menu item)
Groups: Admins,Anonymous,Registered,Super Admin 
module left menu (MENU) permissions: Admins Anonymous Registered Super Admin 
It should work
In the side module, the syntax should be something like {phplayers id=X} or {phplayers id=X type=vert} or {menu id=x}, but not more than one of these.

chibaguy_away: Maybe there should be a reset button at a certain URL, with reset password as part of it.
chibaguy_away: Of course, it would be helpful if reset would save a copy of whatever it reset, with some sort of reversal tool for recovery or testing.

why isn't the menu working! :(
Skyriderz: the fact that the usually-visible-to-anons default menu isn't visible at your site makes me think maybe some permission settings are causing the problem with menu visibility.
SEWilco2: I guess Tiki's reset button is labelled "reinstall database".
chibaguy: I think that one loses the content.  Need one that resets the factory without burning the warehouse.

how about looking at your menu again, in tiki-admin_menus.php, and removing any "group" properties for the menu items.

there is something weird with article-topic images. In a blank new tiki 3 site, I can't see the topic images from the view list of articles, but I dot see them when viewing single articles
example: http://moviments.net/uelm/tiki-view_articles.php (no topic images shown)
but http://moviments.net/uelm/tiki-read_article.php?articleId=2 shows the topic image
Anybody around with any clue?
