i tested the last commit pretty much with various images as logo, etc. chibaguy: ok, that's good. then site admin's inline css can mostly be avoided. luciash: only problem is with the absolutely positioned sitelogin when using sitelogo align to right but that can be workarounded at least by switching it off and using login module in column or custom code in header
but i think now the feb12 looks good by default

Well, it was ok with the settings before, so I guess something just needs to be added again for ie. luciash: i was playing with the browser resizing and wanted it to resize inside header (not to overflow out) so i played with relative position and em font sizes but wasn't aware of this cutting problem in IE

it was bad padding, unnecessary waste of vertical space and logo was jumped down compared to the sitetitles, which were aligned too high

Due to validation error when checking CSS2.1, and because I think there should probably be just clean text when using a text site title.
