I tried that on a wim, and even enabled Remote sql access. No luck I didn't have to modify tiki 3, in case you were wondering. Also my webhost has a blub about using localhost:/tmp/mysql5.sock thou I never had to Im gonna guess and say if 3306 is the default mysql port, then yes trying to see if http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/access-denied.html has any tips looking If everything else fails, start the mysqld server with a debugging option (for example, --debug=d,general,query). This prints host and user information about attempted connections, as well as information about each command issued.
