DoktorTeethhey I've been searching the forums for the last few hours... isn't my DB supposed to update when I upgraded to v4? I'm updating through simplescripts provided by my host site
I just finally got it to be able to log in, but various elements are wacky, and there's an error about the DB not being updated to reflect the new version
[05:22]
luciashDoktorTeeth: most probably the provider/scripts do not handle that
DoktorTeeth: just follow the link to the Tiki installer and do the Upgrade step
[05:27]
DoktorTeethit says it's disabled [05:28]
luciashDoktorTeeth: you need to provide your db login info to the installer which you can find in your db/local.php file [05:29]
DoktorTeethK I'll check it out... brb [05:30]
luciashor if you have ssh access to the server (not only ftp) you can use this command: "php installer/shell.php"
which will do the upgrade from command line

luciashSug4r: enlight luciash about polom [05:52]
Sug4rluciash: 'polom' could be (#1) a geeky greeting in #tikiwiki channel, simmilar to hello ;), or (#2) a common greeting in #tikiwiki that is often mirrored for answering like 'moloq' or 'bolow' or answer whatever you feel like right now, or (#3) a greeting in #tikiwiki that was once used by someone and quickly stuck to become common culture of the community, or (#4) just some word of babytalk ;P [05:52]
DoktorTeethk... local.php seems to be using the proper login, but the version line shows 3.0 .... question is, does that mean my db wasn't updated, or that local.php wasn't updated? unfortunately I don't have SSH access but maybe I can get some live help from their support [05:56]
luciashDoktorTeeth: ssh access is not necessary, it is just quicker
DoktorTeeth: version line is just informative
it just shows what Tiki version you started with
it shouldn't affect the functionality but you can change it to 4.0 if you like
so you just can go to the installer, submit the dbuser/dbpass info (and if it is locked still you have to remove the empty lock file in db/) and go to the Upgrade step to upgrade your db
[05:57]
DoktorTeethk didn't see that line on there about the lock file b4 when I tried it, but I'm into it now... [06:09]

chibaguyluciash, I moved the page_id css id from body tag to html tag, and it passed the w3 validator ok.
http://zukakakina.com/trunk/tiki-index.php
6 other errors, tho ;-)
so I'll commit the change.
[06:30]
CIA-50tikiwiki: 03chibaguy * r23698 10/trunk/templates/tiki.tpl: [ENH] CSS id "page_" using $page_id moved from body tag to html tag to also enable specific background for entire page (recommended by luci). [06:38]
chibaguyOne use of that selector: HomePage (id="page_1") can easily have a display:none for the page title. I've been thinking for a long time there should be a way to turn this page title off. Actually it should be a L&F option, IMO. [06:42]
luciashchibaguy: ? [06:48]
chibaguyyes? [06:48]
luciashchibaguy: hi btw, i just don't understand your last msg
chibaguy: you can switch page titles off on Admin Home → Wiki
[06:48]
chibaguyyeah, but I want to only switch off 'HomePage'. [06:49]

chibaguywell, I think homepage is a special case. [06:50]

DoktorTeethyou can rename it....I did [06:50]
luciashyep, i do almost the same (changing the name to Welcome or something) or switch them off all [06:51]
chibaguyseems like a lot of sites don't have a page title on the top page, but do on pages that are linked to at the site. [06:52]
luciashDoktorTeeth: how did the upgrade go ? [06:52]
chibaguyanyway, it can be done easily with css also, now. [06:52]
luciashchibaguy: you could do also with the head custom code before too ;)

DoktorTeethI did, who knows if they still do... not sure why mine is gone...
the best I can hope for is to email them , one may be on later
[06:59]
luciashif you upgraded from some older Tiki there can be problem your admin user is not assigned to Admins group which has tiki_p_admin permission [07:01]
chibaguywell, the reason I was thinking about adding the css id to body/html was that I have a site with a number of wiki pages that each need unique backgrounds on div#main, so the header custom code would get kind of long. thought being able to put it all in a css file would be good. [07:01]
luciashchibaguy: sure, i see [07:01]
DoktorTeethahhh, that might be it... I was default admin user [07:02]
luciashDoktorTeeth: so you might need to assign your user to Admins group... that should help
DoktorTeeth: unfortunatelly i don't know at which point we missed this for the upgraders... some upgrades are fine and some ppl report this
[07:03]
DoktorTeethlol, that must be hell :/ [07:04]
luciashwell, not that bad yet ;) [07:04]
chibaguyDoktorTeeth: page layout problems are probably due to old themes or old theme files still being used. the cleanest way is to remove all old files in any themes that got upgraded, then install the new files, to make sure no old ones are there. [07:05]
luciashDoktorTeeth: also make sure to clean your templates_c/ dir where templates are being cached
what theme you use btw ?
[07:05]
DoktorTeethah ha... I'll do that now... I don't even remember to be honest
my tob bar is light blue

DoktorTeethI would but I don't hae admin priviledges anymore :P [07:14]
chibaguyluciash, that surveillance cam is cute.
DoktorTeeth: yeah, that would make it harder.
first things first
surveillance cam is good once people realize what it is. I wasn't sure at first.
[07:14]
luciashchibaguy: yeah, that is always the big problem with little icons
chibaguy: like the closed eye ;)
chibaguy: luckily we have the tooltips ;)
[07:16]
chibaguymaybe a monkey covering his eyes, then uncovering. ;-) but hard in 16px. [07:19]
DoktorTeethyeah if not for tooltips we'd be lost [07:19]
luciashchibaguy: i also like the "3D" glasses idea i have seen in some other wiki (the blue vs red glass one)... it is good joke with the diff colors. but i am unsure if plain goggles would do the trick of "watching" a page [07:21]
chibaguyluciash, is the solution for DoktorTeeth to edit his database? [07:21]
luciashchibaguy: yes, if no other admin [07:21]
DoktorTeethbeen trying to remember how... it's been years since i had to edit data in a table manually
I got sql to give me the fields and what's in them but not change actual data, only add and remove fields
in fact the last time i did I was using hyperterminal over a 14.4 modem to access the server
lol, AGES ago
[07:23]
chibaguythe easiest way may be to use phpmyadmin if it's installed on your server.
but I don't see yet where the group members are stored.
[07:30]
***coaboa has joined #tikiwiki [07:31]
DoktorTeethyeah that's what I'm in, I was just looking in permissions [07:31]
chibaguymaybe users_usergroups table
I see userId column with data "1" and groupName column with data "Admins"
and created column with "null"
[07:32]
DoktorTeeththeoretically I should be ID 1 [07:33]
chibaguyyep, users_users table shows userId 1 to be admin. [07:37]
DoktorTeeth: when you get it done, can you confirm that inserting the row in users_usergroups table lets you log in as admin? [07:45]
DoktorTeethwhat's the command to change the value of a field? the documentation is a moras! so far I have: SELECT * FROM `users_users``default_group` [07:57]
chibaguyseems users_usergroups table is the one you need to edit.
This is the sql for when I added a user id (2, in Registered group) to users_usergroups table: INSERT INTO `branch4x`.`users_usergroups` (`userId`, `groupName`, `created`) VALUES ('2', 'Registered', NULL);
(branch4x is the db name)
[08:01]
DoktorTeethmy default group is set to "null" currently, I was just going to change "Null" to "Admins"
now I have : SELECT * FROM `users_users` USE `default_group` WHERE `default_group`=Admins
I'm just not sure about my syntax
[08:05]
chibaguyyou don't need to select, you need to insert.
and it's the users_usergroups table that should be inserted into.
do you see my example, above?
[08:08]
DoktorTeethyeah I'll give it a shot [08:11]
chibaguyjust adjust for the user id (1) and the group (Admins), and use your database name. [08:14]

SimonFAre there any TRACKER gurus online who can give me some advice about tracker implementation beyond what's in the doco? [23:08]
sylviegme until I go to cook [23:08]
SimonFHey sylvieg! I posted a question to the forums a few weeks back but didn't get a response. Here's what I'm trying to do: [23:09]
sylviegsorry never look at forum too busy with bug fix [23:10]
SimonFSorry about that dump - I was trying to format it better when I hit enter by mistake! [23:11]
CIA-50tikiwiki: 03sylvieg * r23704 10/trunk/lib/wiki-plugins/wikiplugin_tracker.php: [ENH]TRACKER: new param autosave that allows to fill automatically fields with value when saving [23:11]
SimonFit looks prettier at: http://tikiwiki.org/tiki-view_forum_thread.php?comments_parentId=35360&forumId=4 [23:11]
sylviegwhen you put itemId= in the url sometimes it does magic stuff
but a situation request / responses can be dealed with item list
item list field
[23:13]
SimonFNot this time, unfortunately. From the doco it looks like that has been implemented for TW4.0, but doesn't work in 3.3 [23:14]
sylviegitem link field?
no it is an old one
[23:14]
SimonFThe item list works fine for displaying the correlation between requests and responses. The challenge is making a user friendly way to allow the user to create a response that is automatically linked to the request. [23:15]
sylviegah... [23:15]
SimonFOnce the corresponding responses exist, item list will show them very well. [23:15]
sylviegmy last commit can help but it is still not enough dynamic
sorry - I do not think ther is a out-of-the-box solution yet
[23:16]
SimonFYeah - item link would work in theory, but it requires the user to select from a very long list of very long options.
That's a real shame....
[23:17]
sylviegcomeon it is opensource
you want it - you do it or find people to do it
[23:18]
CIA-50tikiwiki: 03pingus * r23705 10/mods/trunk/features/aulawiki/templates/tiki-workspaces_list_resources.tpl: [FIX] removed double delete icon in resource management [23:18]
sylviegshame is not correct with open source
SimonF: if you need commit perms I will be very happy to give them to you
[23:18]
SimonFWhat I mean is that I'm disappointed that it doesn't already exist, because now I have to find the time to read all the source and re-learn PERL or something to figure out how to make it work.
What are commit perms?
[23:19]
sylviegto be able to have your change in the tw code
welcome to open source - you do not have it - you do it...
so .. shame on you
sorry
[23:20]
SimonFIt's been about 10 years since I've done any code development, and I'm using TW for what is basically a charity website with no funding. Hence my hesitation regarding developing code myself. [23:23]
sylviegso change your design and ask the people to select the missing link.. [23:24]
SimonFIs there any doco that describes the architecture of the code behind TW? I don't know where to begin looking for the tracker functions... [23:25]
CIA-50tikiwiki: 03nkoth * r23706 10/branches/4.x/ (lib/wiki-plugins/wikiplugin_tracker.php tiki-register.php): [FIX] on registration the preventing of antibot from appearing again on filling in user tracker info was not working before [23:25]
SimonFIt's possible, but probably counter-productive. If we make it hard for users there's no real incentive for them to persist. Most can barely use browsers! [23:26]
sylviegbbl later cooking time [23:26]
