so i've been looking everywhere to try and find out how to set the google maps to display as google earth as opposed to the regular map.  i have a tracker that when entered it displays w/o even any buttons on it to switch to hybrid.  any dev or anything on this where a perosn could tweak the settings?

yes i would be content w/the hybrid/satellite view.  MW has a new tweak that allows for google earth to be used and that is my ultimate goal

I imagine map/sat/hybrid choice is set by the url used.
I haven't seen google earth embedded as the maps are. That's pretty neat.
yeah, i used MW and the semantics deal for a bit, but had ALL kinds of server overloads.  tiki has caused ZERO problems or failures

well, doesn't the tracker get the url as input by the user?
no, an address is typed in and the tracker geocodes it (so to speak)  never see a url

I have a problem with our TikiWiki page and I wanted to ask if anyone ever encountered anything similar and how to solve it.
It's a problem with the Wiki page editor, that works perfectly fine if using in FireFox, is unfunctional in IE?

Tikiwiki-4.0, IE8 and I believe it's the normal wiki editor

The thing is that when I try to edit a wiki page on a tikiwiki-4.0 based site in IE8, it displays the editor and the stored wiki page, but when selecting some text and trying to apply some style prefs, like header or bold or whatever icon there is above in the toolboxes
instead of applying the style it tries to refresh the site
In FireFox the same scenario works fine...
I can edit ok with IE8.
can you double check that it's the normal wiki editor and not wysiwyg editor?

Q: in 4.x, i have Ajax enabled. but it appears that only editing an entire page uses ajax. Section editing reloads evrything (i.e., no-Ajax). is this correct? by design? or is something wrong?

It worked earlier, IIRC, but now I see the center column graying out with loading image, but no change in the calendar module.
those controls were also added years ago to aulawiki (mod ws_calendar), but that module has been recently dropped... so that calendar_new (in tiki 3.x) is used instead, but then again, without those controls.... nor the link for a user to "add new event" just there
btw, chibaguy, fyi about Catalan: the first and second letters are the same for all days of the week ("Di" for all). So that I added the third letter instead of the second, and it worked good enough :-)
ricks99, I'm guessing the ajax refresh only works on the whole page.
I'll apply the patch also to the site where you saw the problem

english also has 2 S's and 2 T's but apparently people are ok with single letters due to their positions in the sequence.
well, i think what xavi suggested would work fine ({if $lang ...}...{else}...) but better would be to use translation strings like {tr}caldayabbr_mon{/tr}, {tr}caldayabbr_tue{/tr}, etc. and translate them in langauge.php for english as "caldayabbr_mon" => "M", and for czech as "caldayabbr_mon" => "Po"

MAP plugin is different maps than Google Maps, you need to run your own mapserver for it

iht, if you're just trying to embed, there is probably an easier way

from google, you'll see a LINK link on your map...
click it and Google will give you some embed code (an IFRAME I think)...
simply add that to your Tiki wiki page (via HTML or IFRAME plugin)

the GMAP plugin/mod is if you want to create your own Goolge mashup (e.g., dynamically show the location of all your tiki users on google map)

I noticed a CSS class for menus called "sf-with-ul", which I assume is a Superfish class, but I can't find it anywhere in tikinewt.css, lite.css, layout.css, or design.css.  Where does that bugger reside?

ah, it looks like /lib/jquery/superfish/css/superfish.css ...  but can't see where that gets called by the other CSS files
