ibrrorg: is there any more user friendly FAQ on MAPS for tiki? the stuff on the docs just about requires a PhD for those of us on the user end. an example is this w/its acronym: the path on this server to the ogr2org binary this is greek man
typed maps in tiki for smarties and nothing came up either
maps would seem to be an integral part of any wiki and to have such a disparity between programmers and end users is kinda odd

ibrrorg: http://doc.tikiwiki.org/Maps+Config?bl=y is where i went, what i don't understand is the ocation where are the .map files are, how to establish a default map, the path on this server of gdaltindex, the path on this server to the ogr2org binary and this is kinda all of it. end users like me have no idea what this stuff is
i mean i could google it all and they 'try' and risk screwing up my system, hire it out, etc but it would make more sense if there were a few details on this stuff to aleviate the need for the former
ill hire it out, but i just think that these are some things that a community would want in place; i would do it as a FAQ, but back to square one i don't understand it
BTW thanx for responding luciash and enjoy the hot water! :)

make sure the category has perms assigned to the group you want to view the page and adjust the perms for groups you want to allow them to edit

avi_: in the 'desc' column it has a blue box 'admin'
no . Anonymous Registered
luciash: it looks like it is inherited from somewhere when it is greyed out but checked on
avi_: I agree. it says blue box 'admin' but it does not say 'inherited from'
I think that somehow it got inherited from admin
I'm going to try to reset it. If I remove tiki_p_lock from admin it may remove it from editors as well
Then if I add it back, I'll see if it gets re-inherited.
btw, there are a lot of blue "admin' there. The only "inherited" are from Anonymous Registered
some just say inherited. very confusing

Sorry, no, it's pretty out of date, for Tiki 4.
coaboa: chibauy: ok. Looking for Xavi. So i have to figure out css selektors from the files we discussed earlier.
lite.css, layout.css and whats contained in /css.
chibaguy: Yes, those cover everything, pretty much.
Is this for the yaml project?
sylvieg: the upload image in an edit page is broken again..
coaboa: ...and for theme modification.
will have an important project presentation March12th and if everything works as expected and no major changes will result from this meeting I try to yaml-connect tiki after that.
chibaguy: I see.
coaboa: so many more stupid questions from me to come ;-)
chibaguy: If you look at one of the newer theme stylesheets, like business.css, you can see sort of a minimum collection of selectors to create a theme, I think.
You don't need to be concerned with all selectors. layout.css and design.css can take care of many of them.
(that's the reason for those files, to eliminate repetitive work for theme-making)
coaboa: yes. I looked at this already. but wondered why this isn't bundled. I would prefer to use a bundled theme, as i think this will ease the proces of keeping up with tiki development
(busines theme)
chibaguy: the main reason is an incompatible license. it's creative commons attribution, and tiki needs LGPL.
coaboa: will have a look at the drupal/yoomla implementations of yamle and if they do it in a similar way I'll try to follow their implementation. Dont know yet but idealy themes developed for yaml-drupal, yaml-yoomla would be easily adaptable for yaml-tiki.
and not forget the other yamle implementations (typo3 etc)
chibaguy: maybe so.

ricks99: if you have access to the database, you can change the theme. look in the tiki_preferences table
or, simply delete (or rename) the .css file for the current theme. tiki will use a default instead
ranke: cheers

nkoth: sylvieg: any idea if it worked before or after the recent tiki-js.js cleanup?
sylvieg: was working before - I haev an older version..
nkoth: i notice I get all sorts of problems when i turn phplayers off now, after the kill...
so I've basically rolled back my own tiki-js.js to r25136 for now.
-: sylvieg should have followed since the beginning why they did this change...

jonnyb: hi nkoth - you yelled? :)
nkoth: jonnyb: hi, yeah, if I turn off phpLayers, things start breaking, like the tabs in the edit
also, sylvieg has a jq problem in the tiki-calendar_edit_item.tpl (not sure if it's related to the kill but she said it worked before)
sylvieg: related to 24794
luciash: polom polom
weren't phplayers kiled yet ?
jonnyb: i had phplm off in the first place, but just switched it on, clicked around then off and i did get one JS error about a var (Opera something) not defined, but on next page refresh it disappeared... it was in a phplm file which shouldn't be included if the feature's off...
also, nothing i KIL'ed had Opera in it (i think)
no, phplayers still there :( (polom luciash)
nkoth: jonnyb: i get a jqueryTiki is undefined error
luciash: hey jonnyb
nkoth: trace...hide() tikitab() onclick()
jonnyb: nkoth: did you do the usuals? (clear caches & logout & in again?)
nkoth: yes
trying again
jonnyb: the bits i killed shouldn't have had anything to do with phplm - are you minifying js?
nkoth: no, turned that off
it's almost like when phplayers is off, some js is missing or something
jonnyb: hmmm (this is why nothing ever gets deleted in tiki ;) )
ok, investigating...
nkoth: it's pretty reproducable for me
jonnyb: does it all work ok if you turn phplm back on?
nkoth: yes
even without clearing cache
jonnyb: the jqueryTiki is undefined error is usually because there's a parse error somewhere before it - seems to be the first thing noticeable that gets hit...
nkoth: well, setFlipWithSign may be the problem
let me clear cahce and retry
this is a different error
jonnyb: aha - looks like setFlipWithSign calls show() before tiki-jquery.js has been loaded... (snap! :) )
Tikiwiki|bot: New Forum Posts: Code-Tags vergrößern bei Tikipedia - http://tikiwiki.org/tiki-view_forum_thread.php?forumId=10&comments_parentId=36324
nkoth: well, now putting phplayers back doesn't help (I must be doing something wrong)
maybe it's setFlipWithSign that's the issue - not phplayers
but it's related because the first is triggered when the second is off?
jonnyb: ok, think i see it - the "new" show/hide routines are created on doc.ready, but the code that calls them is run as the page loads...
so either i move the functions out of doc.ready, or (preferably) change the calling code (as stuff like this shouldn't happen before the DOM is ready, i think)... i'll experiment
ok, that seems better - fix to cat*treemakers coming...
nkoth: brb 5min

nkoth: testing now
jonnyb
still around?
jonnyb: yup (getting lost in calendars now)
nkoth: when I go to admin... look amd feel for the first time
I get "show is not defined" and the area won't show
when i refresh the page it shows
jonnyb: hmmm, a similar thing i should think (the init code should be run on doc.ready, not half way through loading)
nkoth: Also, when I go to Categories tab in the edit screen the twister shows [+] but the tree is expanded by default
it is suppose to close it...)
jonnyb: try clearing cookies?
at least that one - showhide_headings
nkoth: does not help
by default without cookie, it is supposed to be closed right?
jonnyb: yup
nkoth: well, the twistie does show [+] but the area below is not "hiding"
even though there is no js error for this one, but could be related to the admin... look and feel not showing on arrival pbm
no js error could simply be due to some robustness checking that prevent it from working I suppose
jonnyb: seems ok for me (cat twistie on edit page)
nkoth: hmm, probably a timing thing
how abt the look and feel, do you have that problem?
jonnyb: do you get the same on tiki-browse_categories.php?
nkoth: i did this: logout, clear cookies, relogin, go to browse_categories,
***: luminoso has quit IRC (Quit: Leaving)
nkoth: the thing expands automatically and shows [-]
If I close it
then go back to it, it stays closed with [+] good
But on the edit interface I get [+] with it open
jonnyb: yes, me 2 - i tihnk it's something to do withg the tikitabs (i've got no admin content at all now)
luciash: with jQuery sometimes it is problem of slow loading that undefined stuff :-/
as far as i experienced
jonnyb: yes, a lot of the old tiki JS was running all over the place as the page loads... messy
this is why i chickened out of doing the move JS to end of page thing a while ago - too much pain!
(but good in the long run if we sort if all out now)
nkoth: so the setFlipWithSign does the initial setting right?
it now runs on doc.ready
jonnyb: yup - now on doc.ready
nkoth: maybe there is a test for whether the area is visible or not before hiding
and at the point of testing that, it is still seen as hidden
(just hypothesizing)
jonnyb: is this in all browsers? remember we had some issues with Fx 3.5 and hidden stuff
nkoth: hmm, let me try safari and ie
safari - the same
in ie8 it's worse
maybe not, let me retest ie8
jonnyb: ok, (back on the tikitabs thing) - i've moved the tab init call into doc.ready (in lib/setup/cookies.php, when cookietab is calculated) and it seems happier here... will commit after a bit more checking
nkoth: ok, in ie8, it gets really weird and unprodicatble as it stands
***: luminoso has joined #tikiwiki
nkoth: seems like if I clear cookies and login, and go straightaway to edit a page, it shows [-] and expanded and when i click on [-] it seems to load the page again
***: chealer has joined #tikiwiki
nkoth: then thereafter it is like the other browsers. Maybe checking for a cookie/or absent a previous cookie takes time
loading the page again is probably standard IE reaction to some error though...
jonnyb: yes, they all do that - if there's an error before it gets to the 'return false' then it defaults to using the href
i have the cat twistie do that under some circumstances...
in firefox
luciash: nkoth: ah, you don't have enabled "Show menus as folders"
or something like that
nkoth: it's on < luciash

luciash: just a guess as i know you can turn any tiki into profile repository
sylvieg: and if I put http://localhost - the all installer does not respond

becasue all the included js file are now linked at the end of the page, so if JS calls a fn in a js file as the page is loading it breaks...
