[11:44] hi jonnyb :-) [11:45] jonnyb, I'm at uni right now, facing tiki questions... :-) [11:45] oh wow - you got irc to work there :) [11:46] remember that my job at university in the mornings since mid july'2010 is related to producing html interfaces to R scripts... [11:46] oh well, I managed to log in irc, through webchat.freenode.net :-) [11:46] and luckily, the beeping works by default :-) [11:47] ... and related to my work at uni in the mornings, and working (so far at least) with Tiki (trackers) + PluginR [11:47] going ok? looked good when i last saw it [11:48] so, here it comes my question... my boss wants some values pre-loaded in the tracker form in text fields..., but I don't know whether this is possible right now... [11:48] going ok: yes, so far, so good :-) and pushing the limits a bit, I guess [11:49] I managed to get eclipse working fine also at the university server with all its plugins, etc. (and 64 bits). My last commit (backporting to 5x a tiny thing of trackers has been committed from there) [11:50] so, jonnyb, any idea if "preloaded values" (see above) is possible with trackers right now? [11:50] and if no, where should I go to find how to implement it? [11:50] (if feasible, of course) [11:50] "preloaded values" above where? [11:51] "my boss wants some values pre-loaded in the tracker form in text fields" [11:51] I know I can produce that once I pass an itemId to the tracker plugin [11:51] oh right - like default vals for the tracker plugin fields... [11:52] could be hacked with a little jquery :) [11:52] (it's about time you learnt it!) [11:52] bt the idea is more general, like pre-loading some value in light grey, and when the user clicks in there, the value vanishes, or just the user deletes that default text, and change to something else [11:52] yes! that's why I'm asking :-) [11:52] i think this has come up before though [11:53] and since my boss requested that, I'll have an excuse to face (and learn a bit of) jquery in (paid) work time :-) [11:53] polom [11:53] molop luciash [11:53] ok, all you need is a {jq} plugin on the page [11:53] hi luciash [11:53] xavi: i thought there already are [11:54] xavi: preloaded values [11:54] luciash: any link? [11:54] saw it on doc.tw.o somewhere [11:54] I know I can do that with drop down boxes, but not with text fields [11:54] if u can't find it i will have a look [11:54] doc.tw.o "somewhere" :-D (I know that feeling) [11:54] ok, I'll search for that [11:54] thanks for tip, luciashg [11:55] luciash, I mean [11:55] sure :D [11:55] try this in your firebug console: $jq("#search_mod_input_1").val("foo or bar"); [11:55] jonnyb: your approach means using pretty trackers, I guess, isn't it? [11:55] ok, I'll try [11:56] no [11:56] ok [11:56] it'll work for any inputs [11:56] xavi: i have also experience with "vanishing" values ;) [11:56] vanishing values in purpose, I mean ;-) [11:56] that line assumes you've got a tiki page with a search module making an input called #search_mod_input_1 [11:56] xavi: you need to use live jQuery function for it to make it work with computed "live" ones though [11:57] haha, yeah, on purpose [11:58] xavi: you have a boss ? [11:59] luciash: yes, kind of. [11:59] ah :) [12:04] jonnyb, getting lost. I tried with $jq("#validationParam").val("foo or bar"); in the page like: tiki-admin_tracker_fields.php?trackerId=1&cookietab=2&fieldId=22#anchor2 [12:05] in trunk, but I don't get how this should work [12:05] the console in firebug is thowing lots of things to me.... [12:05] but I don't know what to do with them... [12:05] what is #validationParam? [12:06] :-), the name from a input field in that form [12:06] sorry, i think i didn't explain enough [12:06] ok, name is different to id [12:06] # means id [12:06] #validationPAram came from: [12:07] i thought you wanted this on a tracker plugin? [12:07] so you need to be on the page with the plugin [12:07] for # you need to use id="" [12:07] sorry, yes, I asked first about tracker plugin [12:08] and then I wondered if that could be used from trackers directly(insert item) [12:08] in the end I'll be using from tracker plugins [12:08] so that if both things are different, I'll go for the tracker plugin, then [12:08] you'll need it to be in a wiki page so you can add the {JQ} plugin [12:08] ok, got it [12:08] but the principle will work on any web page [12:09] * xavi will set up a test page [12:10] as an example - go to http://dev.tikiwiki.org [12:11] and in the firebug console paste in: $jq("#search_mod_input_1").val("foo or bar"); [12:11] see it appear in the search box! :) [12:13] *** JoernOtt has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 265 seconds) [12:15] ok, easy, thanks, Jonnyb (tested in dev.tw.o and worked like a charm) [12:16] you can target things without an id, but let's leave that for day 2 :D [12:16] they work much like css selectors though [12:16] target things via id is the fastest though [12:16] indeed [12:17] not really an issue if you're just setting up a few values on a form on load though [12:18] thanks to both. Well, I'll need to pre-feed a few values in a tracker, shown by chunks (10 fields at a time, or so)... [12:18] already found out that for tracker plugin, the id are track_22, track_23, etc. (easy to remember) [12:21] mmmm, and the next question is... is there a smarty jq function? [12:21] since I remember that I'll have to call the pretty tracker template using smarty syntax (needed for PluginR to work through pretty trackers, afair) [12:21] ^jonnyb [12:22] * xavi goes to look for that in the appropriate folder , where jonnyb told him to llok for smarty funcs [12:22] yes, bloq.jq.php [12:23] so that I guess I will be able to use it with smarty syntax also, great! [12:52] i think i would use jquery yes, but it depends how generic this might be (in other words it might be better to do it in tracker code of some sort) [12:54] mmmm [12:54] any link to learn more about which jquery syntax to use? (for a test, at least) [12:55] jquery.com has lots of examples & tutorials [12:55] ok, ok :-) [12:55] thnks [12:56] I'll go there in a few days, when I finish the tedious previous work to prepare the full form [12:56] for quick reference of syntax etc i use: http://api.jquery.com/browser/ [12:56] ok, tks again [12:57] xavi: for this you will definitely need the live() jQuery function [12:58] live()... nice. is it documented any where within the Tiki world? How can I transmit the file into the current 5.1.x [22:59] i developed a sample with fivealive. [23:00] if it is generic - optional ... I can give you svn write access [23:00] but it wil be in trunk - 5.x is too late now [23:09] "Unable to contact remote server." trying to login to doc.tw.o - community seems to be down [23:21] sylvieg : it is generic and full compatible. It depends for the moment only off the css, no user option. If classes named "li.levelx" where x is the level thecorresponding definition will be used, if they are not they are ignored. I have modified structlib.php and the tpl structures_toc-startul.tpl structures_toc-endul.tpl and structures_toc-leafl.tpl, when class fancytoclevel is used... [23:21] ...there is no change. Ready to commit [23:23] not sure I understood .. [23:24] did you add a specific class ot each li level? [23:25] can you do that with li li and li li li? [23:30] but sure it can be friendly.. [23:34] No, into structures_toc-leafl.tpl I changed class="toclevel" by "class="toclevel level{$cur_curdepth}. $Cur_depth is assign into structlib.php (with a little correction because the calculus was wrong - without previous consequences). So the multiclass (toclevel levelx) allows that toclevel defines the general properties of text and into the css classes level0, level1, ... set size, weight,... [23:34] ...style, top margin which can be attributes wished for the level to have a clear toc and depending of the css conceptor feelings (exactly the same as styles for a toc with MS Words).
