HideMe: you seem to be thinking about the Remember me feature. if you close your browser, an HTTP session disappears, you need Remember me to stay logged in.

Thank you. First, when navigating the Tiki site, each new page goes through a strange partial-loading "flicker", where it cycles a few times before finally fully loading. I've never seen this before.

Second, I'm pretty new to putting together a social network. I was thinking of using a packaged social network "kit" like SocialGo or another Ning alternative, but I wanted to make sure that I can use a domain I own as its URL. Am I correct in thinking that Tiki is basically a software package that one downloads, modifies and then hosts on one's own server? -which means that I can use my own dedicated domain?

in one of my tests it seemed that disabling the add-ons (firebug) wasn't enough, in the end i uninstalled it and it was ok, but maybe that was just restarting the browser that did it

what i like on chrome, is that there is no restart necessary btw, but recently chrome started to eat all of my resources after some hours of usage, so i am back to firefox (testing FF 4 beta1 currently ;))

ff 3.6 seems smoother than before, but there's still a on-and-off when pages load, whereas with opera, after you see the page, it doesn't go away again during the loading.

The "forgot password" test mails from tiki however do not work.
